  • We all know how expensive flight training is and how some get into debt to complete their training. Although there are several ways to minimize cost and stretch every dollar nothing like completing flight training without taking any loans.
In this video, I share how a first officer completed his training without taking any loans. This is an exceptional approach to getting the training done but more people should take this approach.

Part 141 and part 61 is the very first thing I learnt as an enthusiast.

QUESTION: If I goto flight school/training overseas to save money will my training still be accepted by US carriers?...Or, is the flight training considered not legitimate or not at the same standard as US flight schools?

You can always come back to the US and convert your license. That process can expensive since you will have to meet the FAA requirements even though you have a CPL from a different country. But it’s possible.

I’m not sure what college he went to but I haven’t heard of any that would trade in part 61 training for college credits.

That part caught me off guard as well.

I probably didn’t communicate that properly. The important aspect of the information shared is that with a private/ commercial certificate, a student may be able to get credits towards a college degree and save some money in process.

Hi Steve, what if the prospective aviation student already has a masters degree in marketing I mean an MBA in marketing from from Africa and would want to train as a pilot, would that past degree count or may have to sign up for another degree while in an aviation school..

    • @stephenav8

No, you won't need to get another degree. You will only need to start flight training at a flight school.
