    THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! I'm learning how to use this program and I've been running in circles for a few hours (it's currently 1:00AM.) This video gave a very simple answer to my problem! Thank you so much!!

    Lets say I have a semicircular shaped helical groove cut at the outer diameter. I also want boundary mesh on the grooves throughout the helical cut. Along with the circle having the O-grid.
    Any thoughts on how can I do that?

    Thank you so much for the video. it helps a lot.
    I have a question though. for a simple pipe with a bend (e.g. a U-shape pipe) do I have to set these mesh sizing setting on 4 radii (perpendicular to one another) which I make at pipe's circle section?
    and more important, would this structured perfect mesh apply and sweep to bends without any problem and distortion of grids?
    I actually tried to use multizone mesh but it gives me errors and does't run at all. the error says "Error:Multizone found free block in swept body" Can you please help me with it?

    How can you get the nodal coordinates of the mesh, like:
    Node1(x1,y,1,z1),Node2(x2,y2,z2),... in Ansys AIM 17.1?

    Using R19.2 with this operations, it will turn out error and produce non-structual mesh when the Edge-sizing is applied to the outer edge of the ring.
    You can only choose the inner edge, the outcome is the same.

      Hi.. what i have is complexe shaped volume so i need to mesh some places in that volume differently with other places in the same volume.. so let say i have a volume with A,B and C parts and these parts are combined. So how i could mesh each part with a differznt method and different amount of elements ...thanx alot for responding 😊

    I have created a mesh using this methodology for an annular diffuser and tailpipe and I would like to refine the elements along the inner and outer wall (and choose the first element size). I have tried using inflation layers without any success. Do you have any suggestions?

      The most advisable thing is to use inflation, please check this video, maybe can be help.

    Plz sir i need help ,,i have to reduce the elements without changing the number of nodes??

    • @ansys_cfd
      @ansys_cfd  6 лет назад +1

      Hi friend, The elements are directly proportional of the number of nodes, if you reduce one of them the other also reduce, maybe you can change the tetrahedral to hexahedral mesh and check the number of nodes. Regards

    I did the same thing as you have done here but the resulted mesh is not the same. I've got this message:
    Prism elements have been generated during MultiZone meshing, a pure hexahedral mesh could not be generated.
    What is the reason?!!

    why is meshing used
    what is the use of meshing

    • @ansys_cfd
      @ansys_cfd  7 лет назад +2

      Hi my friend;
      The mesh is the previous step to simulate.
      When you use the mesh you are discretizing the equations for finite volume method or finite element method, i.e. you convert the differential equations to arithmetic equations.

    I perform meshing in a similar way. I wonder if you have met the problem of messed edges for more complex geometries. It occurs when several geometrical parameters are changed at once (within WB) and two neighbouring edges have switched Edge Sizing one with another, occassionally. I have found out it occurs for geometries generated due to the Slice tool. The avoidance of use of that tool is a painfull solution, however, the only I know so far.

    • @ansys_cfd
      @ansys_cfd  7 лет назад

      Hi my friend; Do you have any example about this? Regards

    • @pawebargiel1136
      @pawebargiel1136 7 лет назад

      Please take a look at the picture below:
      drive.google.com/open?id=0B_AZxZ9ockQgRzFpcXhEWjhKdU0
      At the first screen the edge sizing is unmessed (Edge Sizing 1 sizes edges A, and Edge Sizing 2 sizes edges B)
      At the second screen, after the change of the lenght of edges A and B, the sizing gets messed (Edge Sizing 1 now sizes edges A which are old Bs, and vice versa)
      Here, the number of divisions is calculated to achieve equally sized cells. Such method works with whole model except the parts, where edges are created due to plane cutting, as presented above.

    • @ansys_cfd
      @ansys_cfd  7 лет назад +1

      Hi my friend;
      You must use "element size" to not be calculating the number of divisions from Edge sizing and apply Behavior "Hard" this method works with the parts. Regards

    • @pawebargiel1136
      @pawebargiel1136 7 лет назад

      Thank you.
      However, I do know this option and I am not using it intentionally. Firstly, to keep structural mesh between two faces of different edge size (eg. some conicial structures). Secondly, to avoid undesired rounding (eg. two edges of 7,5 mm with element size of 1 mm produces 8 divisions each, while another edge of 15 mm results in 15 divisions). Regards

    • @ansys_cfd
      @ansys_cfd  7 лет назад +4

      Hi my friend; This tool, like any other tool, should be used in a localized way. In computational fluid dynamics all are approximations from the meshing to the discretization of the Navier Stokes equation, you can use this tool and in the setup add double precision. Regards
