Superbad (2007) is a coming-of-age comedy that follows two high school seniors, Seth and Evan, who are best friends and on the verge of graduating. They’re determined to make the most of their final days of high school by attending a big party and losing their virginity before heading off to different colleges. Along with their socially awkward friend Fogell, who obtains a fake ID and adopts the alias "McLovin," they embark on a wild night of misadventures.
The movie focuses on their attempts to buy alcohol for the party, which leads to a series of chaotic events, including run-ins with incompetent cops and various misadventures that test their friendship. Despite the humor and absurd situations, Superbad also touches on the themes of friendship, growing up, and the anxieties of moving on to the next stage in life. The film was written by Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg, loosely based on their own experiences as teenagers, and stars Jonah Hill, Michael Cera, and Christopher Mintz-Plasse.
