Oh my god man, your such a lifesaver. I plugged in my monitor expecting a normal setup, but my screen was super zoomed in, the setting was supposed to be on 1440 x 900, so I reset it and AUGH, you deserve a sub.
Also under "Advanced sizing..." you can go to "Display adapter properties". Under "Intel HD Graphics Control Panel" (name could be different depending on graphics card) tab go to scroll menu and select "Maintain Aspect Ratio".

SIMPLE FIX: When Microsoft updates settings can be changed Goggle "what resolution and refresh rate is currently used on Windows 10?" This combination worked for me: 1280 x 1024 (resolution) and 75 p HZ (refresh rate) when I made the adjustment. To make the adjustment do the following = all left clicks. Go to CONTROL PANEL. Go to INTEL HD GRAPHICS Go to DISPLAY. Go to Resolution and Refresh Rate. Plug in the numbers above Go to bottom of screen and click APPLY This should save you time and frustration....it did me.

I have the same problem. It is not the resolution, it is the size of the Picture being larger than my monitor, covering up my tool bars and start up feature. lot of guess work when you can't see the icon.
I witnessed my screen go black while I was watching a YT video and suddenly everything was small. After I put my computer in sleep mode, everything is big and blurry now. I have no options to fix this at all, and now I may need to get a new computer. :/

I had that same problem with my NUC connected to my TV - look up "Fix Desktop Overscaling If you Use a TV as Monitor" - it uses the video card scaling feature - should work for a normal monitor too. Didn't help with the NUC but the Intel video settings on the NUC (Ctl+Alt+F12) let me scale the screen to around 97% which fixed the problem.

If the image is larger than screen just press menu button on the monitor and reset to default. On mine on 1080p resolution image was stretched outside the viewing area and that fixed it.

@@zdex8667 the only way I could fix it was to change the TV to the game setting and then it automatically fitted. If your TV has any presets try them. I. E. Movie, game, sport that sort of thing and see if that helps. That's the only thing that worked for me in the end but I have no idea why it worked!

Still looking for my solution: Upgraded my 1360x768 computer from 8.1 to 10. MS carried along my previous setting of "make everything bigger 125%" but then disabled the option in W10. Now that I must upgrade some crap software that has the "download" button in a fixed place below my screen, I need to temporarily revert to size 100% but the programmers at MS completely forgot about this important option. The only conceivable way to fix this is to connect an external monitor with greater resolution and hope that MS will allow me to use it at its native resolution. How much human misery has MS caused . . . .

I just set up dual monitors, and my 2nd monitor resolution is too much and the edges are cut off... If your on a tv and it randomly does this UPLUG AND RESTART YOUR TV FIRST it might not have anything to do with your pc
