Southeast Asia & Regional Politics...../Southeast Asia is one of very important region where one can observe struggle between different powers including global powers like US, China, Japan etc & Regional powers like Indonesia, Philippines, Malaysia Cambodia etc. Interests of US & Japan align with the interests of some regional states while interests of China align with other regional states, hence this convergence of interests results in natural alliances vs counter alliances. Research is needed to (1)explore these converging & diverging interests of regional & global powers, (2) cost that each regional state might have to pay for entering into such emerging alliances & (3) implications of such alliances for (politics & economy of) entire region.
