Now you've met another dragon geek. In particular a HTTYD geek. Very proud of it ever since I saw the first film back in March 2010. What pleasure it is to meet you. :)
The entire HTTYD franchise is wonderfully realized. The dragons are beautifully and vividly imagined, designed, and animated, the story is fascinating and engrossing, and the soundtrack just pulls you straight in.
Eamon Hyatt it’s lack of awards will forever haunt me, in spite of the nominations. I feel like everyone in the franchise knows they’ve been a part of one of the greatest animated movies in history - to miss out to some of those other animated films just kills me. Agreed though - this was just so well done overall that it’s tough to comprehend. The voices, story collaboration, sound effects and editing, an EPIC soundtrack, groundbreaking animation technologies. I could go on forever.
ruclips.net/video/DUjewG1uyXI/видео.html If you like the violin solo, go to this version and skip to 2:40. You'll be glad you did! Personally, the build up makes it much better to me, but 2:40 is the solo.
@@thicclegss4896 So did I. When I stumbled across this, I was in a really tough spot in my life where I felt truly alone. I felt like I couldn't be anything of worth or use for anyone. I'm in a much better place now, but hearing that musician make the instrument cry, and with such passion as he did, it just had me breaking down. Music is truly a gift we all share.
I makes my heart soo happy to know that httyd still has fans. I love you all. This concert was amazing and I wish I was there. I'm off to go play httyd
Atticus the Dragon I've been a fan _forever._ Since the books, since the premiere of the first movie (that was released on my birthday)... I'll always be a diehard fan.
There's a reason for that. In music, when notes vibrate together with perfect harmony is known as an overtone. It often causes that predictable reaction.
Httyd sound track is so fine tuned to give the viewer a great visual and audible expeirence just as when toothless goes under the rocks and hicup looks up the high strings and the flutes play a crescendo to draw the viewers eyes up with sound god i love httyd expessially as a jazz band soloist and a band kid in 8th grade
I am 14 now which means I was 6-7 years when I first saw the first movie... I‘m so hyped for „The hidden world“ now even if others in my age say i‘m too old for it
You are never too old! I watched the movies and series with my sons and this last movie is going to kill me. I saw the preview and cried 😭 and fyi my son is gonna be 14 :) and he still loves HTTYD
JannikR2 I hope not, because I’m 34 - strange combination of aviation lover and animal lover, perhaps that automatically sticks me in the realm of toothless fan 🤷🏻♂️😂
I had a secret dream that a concert like this would come to my city! I hope everyone in that audience realizes what a priviledge it was to be there. I would have shelled out a heck of a lot of money for seats. This is truly some of my favorite music. :)
Hello there. So sorry it took me three months to notice your comment my fellow HTTYD fan. My sincerest apologies. So far there have been two concerts such as this. They happened not long after the films were released. I need to keep an eagle eye out on DreamWork Animation's social media after the third film is released on May 18th 2018. For I highly suspect they will have another just like the previous two. And if I can, I intend to be there to finally hear this masterpiece of music live. :)
This is the most beautiful piece ( my husband was a Supervising animator on all three films ) it's a huge part of our lives. The musicians are incredible.
It gave my tears especially after the final film where toothless meets hiccup after 10 years of thier seperation and the music arises from the side and the phrase "There were dragons when i was a boy" makes the feel even more wrose than that . Man it hurts alot🤧.
I've loved classical music my entire life, learning the piano so as to be able to express it myself. This is a truly wonderful piece, and not only my favourite film score, but amongst my favourite pieces of all time. What a great performance too.
Am I the only one? or does 3:07 sound like a goodbye for the dragons in httyd3 when the dragons leave. It sounds like they go now and they fly together one last time. I really get that feeling when the trumpet comes in.
Saw the screening of the hidden world today and I laughed so much and bawled at the end. I thought I would listen to the music but it still makes me emotional! How crazy a toothless dragon creates such feeling!
Absolut awesome, thanks for that
John Powell take a bow, You truly deserved the Oscar for this masterpiece. However, Oscar doesn't deserve you, IMO you are bigger than Oscar. I have forgotten the count listening to "Forbidden Friendship" and "Romantic Flight" and ofcourse Bourne Supremacy.
Can't belive this movie is already 8 years old... I will always love this movie and i will watch it again and again even when i become 30 years old om gonna watch all the movies for 'How To Train Your Dragon'

John Powell losing to the Social Network was dissapointing

I don't understand how this soundtrack AND Inception both lost to The Social Network for the Best Score Oscar! It still bothers me!
