Keep the saw mill and logging in the picture, I like the variety. Thanks!!
Definitely want to see more sawmill operations
That big cherry log is the money maker
I love the Gierok dad! Good man. Smart and informational as always on everything. His sons are learning from a good dude. Keep up the good work! On Wisconsin
I would like to see more of those videos
You guys are doing a great job. Something I noticed that RUclips is doing is removing some of the people who have been subscribed!! I watch you guys all the time and just wanted to share and give a thumbs up and noticed they did it again!! So you might want to make mention to your other subscribers to make sure they are still subscribed!! Anyway keep going guys great job
The "Gierok" mods on that lumber trailer look to be performing as designed! Nice build, gentlemen!
We ue all our slab wood for outdoor fire pits and camping wood!
What a great side hustle for the dairy men !!
I think you could put the sawdust in a gravity wagon and use in the calf pens instead of straw It's good enough for race horses 5:54
My uncle used to mill lumber on the farm, he also used a metal detector over logs before loading them up, you'd be surprised at how much metal is found
Well that's a nice side business.
I immediately liked the video. Looks like Gierok Tree Gold
Let it dry, chip the slabs for bedding, add corn cobs so pigs root it into compost. Put down a tarp and catch the sawdust, makes great chicken bedding ect. Drag it behind the wagon off the hill as extra brakes.
Great video yes more please nice lumber
GEORGE looked like he was having fun great video
Looks like a nice pile of boards unit looks like it's a good unit beautiful weather for that great job men
Slab wood makes good fire wood. We used to burn it when I was a younger man
I use scrape wood for when we make maple suryp, will you be cutting logs for other people.
If there are any campgrounds in the near area you could cut it in smaller pieces and either sell it or give it away. Use as kindling. Just a thought.
Yes! (of course...) Always MORE! If you could find a chipper for those "slabs" "flitches" "off-cuts" that might be their ultimate utility. Great for problem spots in tracks, washes, etc. Always enjoy your videos.... y'all have "got it goin' on"
Your Dad is really getting in to it !!! Way different than the circular saw blades at some of the Amish sawmills in our area. Quite a nice pile of lumber.
Bundle it up for camp fires? Kindling? Sugaring operations
Great load of wood for sure
Thanks for sharing the video. Mill is doing a great job. Nice looking lumber.
Yes! Yes! Yes! More sawmill! My husband grew up on a small family farm in Wisconsin and we really relate to your hard work.
I’m willing to bet that your Dad is having a blast running that mill.
The wait to see the saw dust fly was well worth it. Good video. Thanks.🌳🌳
Yes that the way farm really is exploring all part of the farm land
HI:
I like seeing all the different job around the farm. It is nice to see things you guys do to make the farm work and pay for itself.
Greg B.
thank you
Stack up the waist boards and advertise it . Someone will buy it
Back around 1980 my dad bought a ton of slabs like that and fenced our back yard with them. Looked pretty good too. I would think it would look just right around a log cabin or rustic type home place. I would bundle them up on a pallet and see what happens.
Pretty darn cool 😎 video!! Nothing like the smell of new sawed lumber and fresh dust!! Thanks 😊.
Nice video maybe George will have to build a separate building to put saw rig in so he can saw year round. I miss the saul videos , what’s he up to lately did he use the jd 4400 combine last fall
That looks very cool on that machine now you guys don't need to buy any lumber
Really enjoyed the process and all the math that goes into sawing rough lumber. It would be great to see more videos on the tricks you have learnt along the way.
Thank you for always being through in describing the process you use and why. Cheers from Nova Scotia, Canada 🙏
Tell Dad to fix a funnel on the end of the leaf blower nozzle, you'll get more pressure!
Yes enjoyed the video. Thanks for sharing. D
Yes, I enjoyed seeing the sawmill action. It's a nice mix with your other content. God bless. 🙂👍
Use the slab wood as wall for the shed to cover the mill on the windward side. 👍🤣
Great Video!
Nice pile of lumber.
Another interesting video. It would be interesting to know how the numbers stack up in terms of just selling the uncut logs versus getting a saw mill to do this cutting for you versus your own numbers. Best wishes from Scotland.
Cool stuff!
Love the sawmill action… keep em coming… I actually have liked all your content from machinery, dairy, crops, etc. ….all good!!
Hello enjoyed your video sawmill works great. Have a great day.
Awesomeness!!!!
I love sawmill videos!! I've seen mostly wood mixed mills, however yours seems to be an excellent mill. Keep the videos comming.
It is very educational to see different methods to accomplish the same result. I like seeing the way Mark Galicic saws too (on his You Tube channel) Both of you are Master Educators.
I have been watching your channel for quite a while now and love what you guys are doing. I grew up on a farm and it just never leaves you. I have one suggestion for your lumber trailer. Because of your hills it might be a good ideal to add some weight to the running g gear to lower your center of gravity. Would add a lot more safety to your Tran sport. Just food for thought. Keep up the great videos. I love them all. Rick from Neb.
Didn't you see these guys baling hay or chopping silage on these hills. You should see how the bigger farmers chop hay on those hills. Tandem axle straight trucks and they blow the silage on to the up hill side of the box to lessen the chance of the truck tipping over. I asked one of the farmers in their neighborhood if he was worried about tipping the trucks. His answer: Nah, they usually slide down hill before they tip!
I knew you were going in the lumber business when you bought the saw.
Off cuts can be used in your wood boiler to heat the house.
A good days work there. Great video. All the best 🇬🇧.
I've been wanting to see the new mill run. George doing great on the controls. No blade to metal contact. Hopefully never will. Aaron getting a real workout off bearing the slabs and working the green side to pack lumber. Gotta get the Young Gieroks up there to help too. I know labor is a premium, but one more body would really speed things up. I have a request for you guys. PLEASE, fashion up some type of bulkhead or headboard etc. on the lumber wagon. I'd hate to see someone attacked by a load of green lumber. I say this because I saw it happen once. The tractor driver was okay, but the tractor fenders didn't take it so well because he couldn't get stopped soon enough. Love watching you guys. Keep the milk and sawdust coming.
Liked to watch the sawmill in action.
Very nice! Thanks. Somewhat similar to the way things work on our farm, too. We heat our house with wood (2 stoves inside) and also our shop. All of our slab wood is used to heat the shop and we use the smaller pieces for kindling in the shop and house. Also used for campfires for some of the church activities held at our farm. We gather up all of the sawdust and use it in the chicken house, calf pens and gutters. and yes, some of the more difficult stuff and bark pieces go to the bonfire pile, but generally very little waste.
I ENJOYED WATCHING THE VIDEO AARON 😊
you asked about the slab wood. I'm about 2 hours north of you and it sells for $15 a yard. They make a 4x4x what ever length they have using cut pieces of slabs. I use them in my wood boiler.
$10. For a pallet like you get around Central Illinois, 2 years ago.
Always been 15-30$ a bundle where I'm from softwood/hardwood bundles are about 2 facecord
It's an Amish sawmill, mixed hardwood and soft, board rejects, and cutoffs
For the slabs use a buck saw, or something like that, to cut into firewood, bundle and sell to campgrounds.
Great video. I'm gealous
What do you use the sawdust for? Bedding?
Nice sawmill.
Looks very well made.
I can almost smell that fresh cut lumber. Its right up there with the smell of corn silage
Wow very cool keep sharing
I’m too old now to start (72). But oh boy, there was a day!!!
Looks like a remote for the saw would come in handy
Make woodchips from it and use it in the burner.
Watching you from derry in Ireland
❤❤❤❤❤❤ IT'S COOL 😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
I was in a barn that was converted to an Event Center. Old lumber had the circular saw marks, replacement stuff was band sawn. Great video! And I would love to have one of those if I had the time to use it. I could probably make it pay if I wasn't already in a job that DEFINITELY does pay. 👎🎲🎲
Chip the small pieces and use the bigger ones as firewood .
Use the chipped ones in a compose bin
Very interesting video. Stay away from the fence lines when cutting trees will surely save a few blades...........except for the occasional shotgun slug you might run find in a tree.
Could you bundle your scraps and sell them to people to burn in their smoker after it's seasoned?
What sunglasses are you wearing?
hope you are using the sawdust for bedding
you need the sawdust shoot to stop all the mess
How long will a blade last before it needs to be sharpened?
Great yideo how many board feet or lumber can you saw on one blade sharpener thanks
I know someone who will use good 2”by 2” scrap for wire gate posts.
Aaron were you able to leave your job in town?
Got any fire extinguishers on that timber trailer?
make beeding for the cows out of wast
thin you will be a little more fussy about those crooked logs they take more time than worth it by the time your done if you cut your own logs will pay to cut nice ones more yield in them just my two cents
not sure it would pay but you could wood chip for bedding.
You need a metal detector.
id like to see how a small dairy like yours is profitable.
Any banana log put the horned hit to middle of lid check height come back drop done 1 in lower then middle
