$80!? You’re brilliant. Thank you SO MUCH. I think I can handle this without my husband’s help and I won’t have to listen to his complaints about the cost!
After watching the video advert i was still skeptical. But when i finally downloaded the plans ruclips.net/user/postUgkxZF0EMnrujZvqHhGkxiz559uIABJWR9TG i was very impressed. The whole plan was just as you said in the video. Thank you very much. I now have a large and valuable collection for my woodworks. This is great!
@@shacharcohen8664 there’s a great one called armstrong but the right now they dont have a lot of their stuff in stock. Their price is also affordable, I believe somewhere 3-4dollars per sq ft.
Yep, I just bought my own ELECTRIC brad nailer up to 1-1/4" nails since I didn't want to deal with my husband's compressor, LOL. Yep, worked perfect on my stairwell wainscoat project and peel & stick wood ceiling tile project.
I enjoy your down to earth approach to projects. When I build its not always the "expert way" but in the end it looks just as good and its less expensive. Great job inspiring others to do the same.
I just finished a project using the same materials. We cut 1/2" plywood at 8" so we could get 6 equal boards, which were 7 1/4" inch when you figure the saw blade width. Then we ran it horizontally halfway up the wall as Wainscott. We used two nickels for our spacers turned out really nice.
You might not always do things "correctly" but you are out there doing them, and that's far more important. Your porch looks better which was the object of the exercise. I like your enthusiasm and your creativity. Your husband is a very lucky man!
Definitely a great value when you consider the cost of celing material which can run in to the thousands very quickly. Kicking ideas around for my basement rec room.
Might steal this idea for my back porch, gotta patch up an old, dried ceiling and it's just bland white paint and drywall - this would look awesome with our lattice and we could paint to match. Thanks for idea fuel!
Looks fantastic affordable, beautiful color and easy to do. I'm remodeling our ceiling also. You have giving me a great idea. "YOU GO GIRL"! Keep up the good work.
Yes, impressive! Thanks so much I'm exploring ideas to cover a one Popcorn ceiling in an enclosed patio. Love it, I believe I will begin in the center and work my way out in each side to hopefully have each end match if there is a little bit off like your experience. Gratefully 🙏

I just love your personality and the way you take on these projects and stuff and just so relaxed about it. Myself I'm driving myself crazy with all the RUclipss on how to do this how to do that and I'm never had to do any of this but it is rewarding once you do figure something out all by yourself and with the right video. You're my number two on how to and I'm just recently just started watching your videos. Will you know seejanedrill has got to be number one LOL she's pretty awesome
I think I’ll use that ideal for my living/Dinning room ceiling Caruso it’s popcorn to the max and the popcorn has started falling off its awful , embarrassing, really, and a really nice trim board, what you think??
Instagram models should learn from you, beautiful with no makeup. and your projects are very good and your delivery is outstanding. if you don't do this for a living (the YT thing) you should.
I’m so impressed with your skills! I’ve been begging my hubby to do this in our Lake House but he won’t. After watching your video I now know I can do it myself! My husband has so many tools because he does construction for a living. Just an idea for future videos, but perhaps you could share your expertise on how to use skill saws, nail guns, compressor, etc. for us ladies. I’m subscribing to your channel. Thank you so much!! 💕🦋🌸
I haven’t been subscribed to your videos for long, but I’m making my way through them and getting tons of ideas! 💡 Not to mention that watching you inspires me to get out there and do it, since you are usually banging projects out by yourself on the regular! This video saw me grabbing a tape and running out to the porch to find out that is indeed 8’ across, so now I have no excuse. Keep it up, and I’ll keep my eyes and attention glued to the screen.
Parabéns pelo excelente trabalho. Inclusive, por mostrar que não precisa ser especialista para realizar coisas tão úteis e funcionais. ( Congratulations on the excellent work. Also, for showing that you don't have to be an expert to accomplish such useful and functional things.)
AWESOME job! I liked this so much I wanted my husband to do this to our Florida room, however it was too expensive however doing it this way even if I spend $100. it's cheaper and looks like I can do it! Thank you for the inspiration!!
When I was doing the front porch on my house I didn’t necessarily worry about square but the number of deck planks it took to cover the entire porch. I had to get the spacing right because I didn’t want a strip of wood at the end not the same width. Love the video lol good work!
Putting how informative and entertaining your videos are aside for a second, if you put out something like a DIY calendar or other kinds of merch it's going to sell like crazy.
Super cool video! Definitely gave me some ideas. At 2:30 would it have been safer not to put your hand directly behind the circular saw? Especially with such a long piece of plywood, there’s a risk of kickback.
In hindsight would you suggest some light adhesive as well as brad nails? How is it holding up? (Editing to add a comment), appreciate the in-process work, was wondering if you had an image of it done to see the overall look?
great video! Did you consider taking the edges so you don't poly the trim? I'm considering shipping this step since it's water but wanted to make sure it would be noticeable if i went into the trim..
Very impressive. Such a delight to watch. I need to decide on what kind of ceiling to put into my tiny cottage. I need some type of ceiling to cover the OBS. The walls will be off white so not sure what color to do the ceiling. Very nice!
Wow nicely done! We are undertaking a similar project on our vaulted living room ceiling. We're using tongue and grove cedar planks that are 3.5" wide. I hope our project comes out as nice as yours!
Looks great, and a very smart idea to use cut plywood. Let us know how well it holds up, I’ve had those brad nails pull out over time. Possibility a glue behind the planks as well? Just a thought.
Did you use 18 gauge brad nails, or something different? I just had my 1/8” boards cut into planks, and am putting it over sheetrock ceiling and into the joists, hopefully. I just want to make sure I use the correct nails, that will hold. I absolutely loved this project!
I couldn't tell from the video if you were being systematic about where you placed you nails and how many you used. I was also curious if you counter sank the nails and then filled them with anything before you applied the poly. Did you have any problems separating the planks after you applied the poly to the entire stack? I would have thought you would have a stack of planks all glued together at their edges. But, I thought it was an awesome way to get all the edges sealed and not having to do 50 individual edges.
I like it. It is nice to see someone make it simple. Great job. The Polycrylic, would you use it to seal a wood pergola? I have to reseal mine. Looking for a good product.

As a 28 year wood flooring installer.. GREAT JOB!!
I wanted to do this but the other videos I saw from others were so intimidating, yours are simple and I LOVE YOUR ATTENTION To DETAIL.

This just what I was looking for. Im going to try it in the house. Thanks
I love this. Planning to do this technique to cover our popcorns we have throughout most of our house.

Looks amazing, would have liked if you took a video of the complete end result 😀 but again awesome upgrade 👏

This is perfect! I love the step by step guidance.
Very good job Melisa.
Very good, thank you, love the idea
Ive been concerned about the weight of a wood plank ceiling but this looks super light. Maybe this is something I can actually achieve now.

Awesome! Moreso rolling the ceiling without an extension pole. I would have stopped and gone to the store. Supergirl.
Or just kidnap the broom handle as should have same threads.

Great idea, I plan on installing this on my ceiling in my basement office. Also live in southern Minnesota.
Awesome! I would just add glue to the planks to really secure it to the ceiling cos’ in season temp changes nails could get lose
This is great. Thank you!

hi..do you see the original white planks when looking up at the gap between each new plank ( the gap you created using a quarter coin)

Hi Melissa,
I’m very impressed then again what I seen from you
You are absolutely a hard worker with great DIY skills.
Thank you!

18 gauge brad nails will hold great, for extra security shoot them in at a slight angle.
Well done. Got my next project idea for cheap!
Love the way you did that i want to do my livingroom and hall like that
Me too my ceilings are all cracked and I hate to tape and spackle.
Wow this is a great ideas thank you
Nice job and a great idea!
Nice work. How did you create a safe span to stand on? Use a heavy plank between two ladders?
New fan of your work. GREAT JOB!!! My new favorite DIY channel. I love your style.
Do you have to cover nail holes with wood filler or something and sand it?
This is fantastic! When you poly the stacked edges, did they stick together? Also, is the gap between planks for expansion?
Would plywood look good inside? It looksbeautiful outside. We want to cover our double wide ceiling
I am sending msg from Lisbon Portugal .. I think you are a inspiration and amazinggggg regards xxx Isabel
How has this held up? Any warping. Love the project and thinking about copying it for our patio. We live in Houston so I’m afraid of warping!
VERY IMPRESSED.
Fantastic Look! Great Idea! Cheers from Wisconsin!
QQ why not stain/finish before putting the wood on the ceiling and then touch up? Thanks great video btw!
It's so good!
HEY MINNESOTA, I PRAY YOU ARE SAFE OUT THERE - am going to try using plywood for my ceiling and floors too, thnx tons - south africa
Thank you Linda! For floors, you'll need to use a very thick plywood or it won't be strong enough. Perhaps 3/4"?
Awesome, I want to follow this on my living room ceiling, thank you for sharing 💕

Hi, question for you. I’ve been told 1/4 plywood will warp. Does the poly and that it is cut in strips prevent this? Thank you.
wow, that's a great idea and looks great too. :D
