      What do you trim it with? Does it come with trim to finish off edges or did you use quarter round?

      Also, would you be able to use this around an hvac run? I am thinking about using this for a workout room in the basement and I need to build a chase and would love to not use sheetrock for the chase so I could access the ceiling if needed

    beautiful, this is exactly what i'd like to do in the living room. I'd have to find a contractor or installer.

    Great how to video. I have been looking at using this system for a vaulted ceiling in my kitchen. What would you do if you do not have ceiling trim?

    Did you have to do anything to the fan bracket because of the difference in depth from the wood?

    • @MRGREGSHOWTO
      @MRGREGSHOWTO  9 месяцев назад +1

      Great question! I was able to put the fan bracket on the outside of the wood using longer screws into the housing. You could also add a box extender to the electrical connection box.

    So you use three or so clips per plank of wood? And the clips dont get in the way of inserting the next plank?

    • @MRGREGSHOWTO
      @MRGREGSHOWTO  7 месяцев назад

      Correct. The clips are invisible and stay out of the way. They provide a very good hold.

    Mr Greg I'm fixing to do 2 rooms in this exact same material. Do you have to order the tracks and clips separately?? I can't figure it out says something is included in the box.

    • @MRGREGSHOWTO
      @MRGREGSHOWTO  8 месяцев назад +1

      Yes, you need to buy the planks and tracks separately. The tracks come with clips. The clips included in the package with the planks work for a wall mount, but not ceiling. Good luck on the project and let us know how it turns out!

      @MRGREGSHOWTO how did price compare with all that included compare to actual tounge and groove paint and finish?

    What do you think about installing this in a large family/kitchen room space with 8 foot ceilings ?
    Do you think it would make the room appear to low ? Solid cherry wood cabinets in kitchen . Thanks for a great video !

    • @MRGREGSHOWTO
      @MRGREGSHOWTO  9 месяцев назад

      Howdy partner! It would probably create a cozy atmosphere with dark cabinets and ceiling. That said, the ceiling in the video is a little under 8’ and it doesn’t close in too much. Best of luck to you!

    What os the cost per square foot?

  • @DSGB91270
    @DSGB91270 9 месяцев назад +1

    Did it come with all the hardware??? Or is it bought separately?

    • @MRGREGSHOWTO
      @MRGREGSHOWTO  9 месяцев назад

      The hardware (rails/clips) is purchased separately but is from the same manufacturer.

  • @davidgroff3355

    Are u 24 inches between rails?

    • @MRGREGSHOWTO
      @MRGREGSHOWTO  11 месяцев назад

      I am less than 24 inches between rails. I believe that according to instructions, 24 is the max spacing, but I would double-check that with the official docs. The rails come in sets of 10, so used the remainder to have closer spacing.

    Is screwing into the drywall OK? Or do you have to make sure you get into the ceiling joist? Will drywall take the weight?

    • @MRGREGSHOWTO
      @MRGREGSHOWTO  4 месяца назад +1

      Howdy, partner! Be sure to get screws into the joists. This ceiling is heavy and drywall alone cannot support long-term. Good luck!

    How do you take it off if something happens or 3 of them are warping from a water leak ? 😂 thanks

    • @MRGREGSHOWTO
      @MRGREGSHOWTO  7 месяцев назад

      Howdy, partner! That would be doable, but not enjoyable. Fingers crossed that doesn’t happen for a long time. I would always recommend to keep a few spare pieces just in case.
