Also something to think about with Belleville washers is as the compress they expand so if the tube i.d.is not large enough the washers will bind on the tube. Same for the i.d. If the i.d. of the rod isn't small enough the washers will bind on that too. Pat
Thank you SO much for taking the time to put up this great information. I have been researching building my own regulator for some time now and have spent the last couple of nights viewing your videos. I agree with your views on using coil spring over belliville washers. Could you please either put up a video on the specification of the coil spring or could you please let me know of a supplier of the springs. I would also like to know how to calculate the specification of the spring force.
Mr. Lane, do you still manufacture Regulators? I've visited your eBay Store in Search of a Regulator for a Brocock Concept, to no avail. Great that someone knowledgable like you explains these often misunderstood mechanical pieces!
Thank You - For your kind comment :-) I am just putting up a video that I should have made at the same time explaining & demonstrating why you don't see Gas Filled / Gas Spring Regulators at all.
Hi , I have 10 spring washers in my regulator , with a pattern 1 facing away the next 8 are facing each other and the last 1 facing away. You said about if you change the pattern the psi will change, what are the patterns to 900-1000psi as mine is at 850
I cannot answer that as it all varies with the size of the piston head, shaft, size of Bellevilles and thickness of them etc. etc. You configuration sounds very odd. Normally they are ()()() (())(()) ((())) (((())))
You are really out there to help people.
That's amazing and I seriously appreciate your mentality.
You're a very good man, thanks.
Having had a bsa R10 reg fail several times & now my old bsa hornet one acting up i can now see why you prefer the coil spring design, thanks Robert.

Yes: The Belvilles can though up many issues in comparison to a conventional spring, which is why we stick to the spring were ever we can.
i realize I am kind of randomly asking but does anyone know a good website to stream newly released tv shows online ?
@Kaleb Roberto I would suggest Flixzone. You can find it by googling :)

the hw100 uses the Belvilles but can it be converted to use a spring ??

Guten Abend. Ich habe eine Nachricht an Ihre you tube eMail-Kasten geschickt.
