What motor are you running the fi tech on? I have a 350 with the 600 easy street fi tech system and I have JUST the handheld but it’s different from yours, I was wondering if I can tune it with that specific handheld or if I need to have someone with a computer ?
+shenlonco All the other people I talked to that contacted FiTech said to set it after the engine gets to at least 170, when the computer goes into closed loop, and the way I mentioned. The one thing FiTech doesn't go into detail is fine tuning with the included instructions. Got mine tuned yesterday the way I mentioned and runs so much better along with better returning to idle.
+shenlonco The IAC steps will be higher when the fan is on, if using the FiTech to control your fans, because it jumps your idle up to compensate for the electrical draw and it raises your rpms up 50 to counter the electrical draw on your alternator that generally bogs an engine down.
yea i had mine in the stock rpm setting and went down to 700RPM it still feels like it is idling A hair faster when i have my car in drive it rolls a little faster than when I had my carb set up on it. 700RPM is real close though I don't want to play with it no more :-)
I spent three days doing this procedure to bring my steps down between 3 and 10 it won't do nothing I'm thinking I must be stupid and I've been working on cars for 30 years I just like to send it back and get another one AR by different brand
call fitech that's what i would do , anytime I adjust the screw mine makes them go up and down very simple to do something else may need to be set diferently for your motor.
I've tried that procedure on mine it won't adjust s*** mine stays the same 225 it will not adjust the steps this procedure so my unit must be bad I've wasted a lot of time not very much money but a lot of time
that's strange if I turn the idle screw a hair any way it changes mine... you working the screw on the throttle linkage side? if it's at 3 it should work but strange you cant get it a tad bit higher.
Thanks Shen. Nice looking engine bay.
You bet, Thanks for watching.

Hi I have a Chevy ZZ4 crate motor, you can go in on the hand held and change everything if you want. Thanks for watching.
@@ShenRC thanks for the quick reply!
Nice, that's the cleanest engine bay I've ever seen lol. And nice upgrade, she should do some nice healthy Burnouts now 😃👍
:-)
You want your IAC steps with the fans off between 3-10. With the fans on you want it to be just above 10.
Hi see the e-mail in my video that the tech guy at fitech sent me after speaking with him on the phone read it that's the proper way to set it up.

+Bryan Gray Hi that's what the email says set when warm and IAC steps should always stay 3 ~ 10 when running?

Hi Yes I know this , this is why I showed my IAC steps and said when the fan is running it was still on 8 for IAC readings.
I can only get the IAC numbers to go up to 3 and that's with the screw about to fall out real loose and my Tps is at zero, idling at 850-935
Hi maybe try resetting it all and lowering your Idle RPM I have mine lower actually at 700RPM try 800RPM see what happens
Okay thanks will try tomorrow this thing got me beat closing shop

that's an awesome engine you got there. lovin it lots. 😀 👍 👍
THANKS! :-)
Good vid man.
Thanks
my idle seems good were it is came down a lot from like 1300 at first do you have your pcv hooked
Hi yes its hooked up.
my IAC number is 0-3 idling,if I turn the screw in or out it will not go up or down and operating temp is at 170
Thats strange... well they say 3 is ok, what is your TPS set at they say it should be at 0 first before setting the IAC
Mine started at a high rpm. I tried turning down the rpm now it won't start it just cranks over . What be the problem
Hi how did you turn down the RPM? you need to do it on the hand hold CPU and also you need to adjust the IAC steps as shown in my video.

I tried this but can't get my IAC number to go up
Hi what is your IAC # at idle at running temp?
turning the throttle idle screw clockwise will lower it.
👍👍👌👏
Thank You.
cool
Thanks
your welcome

Hi I would give fitech a call.
TPS is at zero

Yeah the Phillip head screw that is facing forward next to the throttle linkage?
Dickey Moore yep Well 3 should work according to fitech.
