- Take a look at how we built out our ever evolving transit 250 van.We are general contractors in California and we are always on the go. This means we have to be ready for just about everything and it’s all about efficiency. Staying organized helps us complete jobs faster and better then most. Every time I've hired someone who's name is on their own truck that truck was a mess I've regretted it. It boils down to if they don't have pride in their own equipment then they won't take pride in the work they do in my home.
These guys are welcome to bid anything my wife can dream up to change our house yet again.

The van is definitely one of our best investments. The tough system is awesome but there’s some things that could be better on them. I think the new ones address some of it.

The only (highly recommended) thing your missing is that bulkhead/divider. You won't know how important they are until you slam on your breaks and stuff flight out of the back.. in some states, they are required for professionals.
Our plan was to have one and 4 years later still nothing. Definitely would be nice.

Very nice setup mate. I'm also a dewalt man and I made my own framework for the toughsystem boxes. Much cheaper than the proper dewalt van racking. One thing I don't get regarding the vans I see you guys have in the states is no bulkhead separating the cab from the back if the van. All vans in the UK come with a bulkhead. Imagine being in a crash and all those lose tools and materials launched at you. Great video, organisation is key.
However, in the UK, your large trucks (or lorries) have the cab right over the engine. The occupants aren't going to fair well in any head-on collision. Our large trucks have that immense engine out front, taking all the force of a crash.
@@4seeableTV that's a fair point just don't know what it's got to do with van safety and bulkheads?
Yeah this is a good setup but no Bulkhead is a huge oversight. I wouldn't make my worst enemy drive that van due to the lack of safety.
@@KansasHVAC I agree, plus if you have a bulkhead, it's much quieter, and it cools down in the summer or heats up in the winter SO much faster.

What are the main concern when having this setup moving around? I m planning to simplify with the basic tooling before a comprehensive mobile van like yours

Berry Reading we had a corded one and hated it. Bought the cordless one and love it. One of our Best Buy’s yet for on-site cabinetry.

Yes wew haul some material with this setup but we also have trucks and trailers. The tools we are very particular about as far as keeping them clean and taking care of them. Dont get me wrong we throw them toss them drop them but always take care of them for the most part.
great setup love it I have tried so many labels nothing sticks to the tough system boxes I painted it on them
Same here nothing lasts so we used waterproof sharpie.

Do you use a VAN RACK SYSTEM or WORKSHOP RACK SYSTEM? The VAN was discontinued, and I saw that WORKSHOP have weak arm brackets.

I was hoping to get your opinion I am going to start my mobile business and will be totally invested I was looking to purchase used largest commercial van with a small sink toilet combo with a custom Murphy bed built in roof or somewhere easily hidden as I will be investing all of me into this idea. Could you give some recommendations to me? I'm seeing these new luxury customizable vans 180k starting out!!! No way!!! I have done a lot of homework gather financials and shopping the markets and think I could get a vehicle with my ideas rolling 25-30k looking professional as well as if I had purchased a 180k commercial van is this something you think could be attainable

I believe its roughly 9 ft long and the height is about 5.5 ft

We personally couldnt do without it. We like to slide mouldings, plywood and all kinds of stuff in our van, so I would recommend extended.

Winslow Grant I found them on Etsy and the cost is only a couple dollars each.

We made the rack frmae ourselves. The arms are from dewalt tough system.

We actually got the tubes and then drilled all the holes and welded it up. Then bought all the foldable arms and installed. Best thing I ever did.
What are the brackets that hold up the battery tools called? I can't find them
Look for them on ebay, they'll pop up all over the site
Dewalt by far have the best rack system had the packout system was way too flimsy in the back of the van
You could have a much larger variety of tools if you ditched the cases.
