Wow, these are beautiful. That lume!!! The blue Compressor one is killing me, KILLING ME!!! why why why did they have to make that now!!! Thanks for sharing all of this and the info on Compressor watches. Super interesting.
These are so awesome. I love learning about brands I didn’t know about and learning about watches from Professor Marc. Someday, someday, I going to be in a place to purchase most of the watches you present. Until then all I can do is help the algorithm. Thanks as always.
Interesting discussion about what is a super compressor watch case. BTW. I have been SCUBA diving since 1974. Before there were dive computers there were depth gauges. Yes we were dependent on our dive watch to monitor our time at depth. We carefully planned our dives with a maximum time at any depth. So yes you're absolutely right. Our dive watch was an important tool.
Wow! Those are all awesome, but that blue dial SuperSport is my favorite. It looks more teal on the website photos but on your wrist it’s a gorgeous blue. The orange hands and markers go perfectly with that dial and strap, love it!
@@islandwatchMy wallet dislikes this video 😂. Loving my 1545 i picked up from you. Now I’m eyeing this and another Zodiac. Too many great choices, never enough money.
The field watch is superb - easily one of the best of its type I’ve seen. Good to see the quick-release on the straps and bracelets, too - so much easier than futzing around with a spring bar tool, especially if your manual dexterity is not the best.
This look really nice. I'm drawn to the field watch though...that black one looks awesome, and then i saw the sand one on your website, Mark...that looked really good too!
I had a Casio in the late 80’s with a rubber gasket under rotating bezel which you screwed down depending how deep you wanted to go. Yeah that gasket didn’t last long and neither did the watch unfortunately lol😅 I was only a kid back then.
Really nice watch. I hesitate to pull the trigger on a compressor just because they wear larger than traditional rotating bezel divers but maybe one day. PS any chance for a blue aventurine/ goldstone dial Brookville? That would be amazing. PPS You're absolutely right about the Challenger. Richard Feynman proved that very clearly.
The blue one looks great with the orange! 0:11 Gla-shoot?? Glashütte means glass hut. If you can't say Ü just say U (like in hood). The E at the end sounds like a very very short A. The first syllable is pronounced. GLASS-hootta, the oo short. Btw, it's the same with Porsche. Not Porsch, not Porschee, more Porscha. ;-)
I‘ve had an Aquasport 2 in blue/orange for a year - beautiful watch, fantastic quality, best lume of all my watches (incl Rolex, Omega, Seiko, etc). Highly recommend it. The dial with its wave pattern also has a sunburst - looks fantastic in the sea during the summer.
There has been much fuss about the 39mm Longines Legend Diver reissue (not a cheap watch), originally a Super Compressor but not in reissue form. You have to give great credit to brands like this who go the whole way. I already own a proper Super Compressor made by Christopher Ward and I intend to add one from this brand and from RZE who also make the real deal.
It's similar but different. With an Amphibia the "spring" is actually the flattened gasket made from sintered rubber which is compressed by the caseback on descent and then expands again as the pressure eases on ascent. A still ingenious solution. The sintering allows the gasket to compress and expand repeatedly without damage. Also the way the caseback is initially tightened minimises the risk of damage to the gasket by any shearing force. You can look up a full article about the Amphibia written by an engineer which describes how the designers used different solutions to the accepted norms so that the watch could be made cheaply. Well worth a read.
The Amphibia uses a simpler way to obtain the same effect. It's always the pressure that pushes the caseback against the gasket, so enhancing waterproofing, but it doesn't need a spring to obtain that, since the annular screw is over the caseback, so it gives directly the initial compression of the gasket. Similar solutions are used for the acrylic domed crystal (compressed, it expands at the base, so tightening it against the case) and the crown (whose metal is thin exactly to allow pressure to push it against the gasket).

Glad you like them!
This super-compressor is really cool. I especially like the "petrol" color
Nice watches - Really appreciate the knowledge at the end on compressor watches
Glad to help!
These are refreshingly different watches. I like them all and would be hard pressed to pick a favourite. I expect them to fly off the shelf, Marc.
The pro trail is the best value I have seen in years. I just ordered one from your site. Great brand!
Hey Marc. So nice to see you carry another cool German quality brand along with Damasko and Laco. Great watches!
I love the one with the orange chapter ring! Great explanation of what a super compressor entails!
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it.

I can't believe i missed this video. That Spinnaker Island colab is awesome and that grey field watch with the topo map on the back is too cool.
Awesome video! Thanks for all the compliments Marc!
Man these are dangerously nice!
that's good!
Thanks Mark for another informative lesson.
Glad you enjoyed it
Appreciate the new lighting and camera.
Beautiful compressor; thanks so much for showing.
Thanks for watching!
The Aquasport is lovely! Such a unique design. Thanks, Marc.

The black and orange one looks great!
yeah it is
New lighting's sweet
Well thank you!
Great looking watches! Definitely keeping my eye on Circula
Great value for money for these specs 👍🏽👍🏽
Agreed! Really offering something for not much more than others.
LOVE the history/mechanical lesson!

.. and I just bought my Phoibos Eagle Ray last month 🤦♂️ ... gorgeous super compressor watch ... love the teal.

I live down the street from the company that made the O ring in question. (Which of course was not rated those temps.) They keep a low profile.
Saw this in your email. Love the blue
thanks!
Love the free engineering class.
welcome!
I like the compressor . Case looks awesome
Oolest new watches in a while! Well done Marc!
Goodies from Pforzheim. Nice.
:)
At least you're not the Long Island serial killer. These are nice, but the CW C65 Super compressor is 👌
These are crazy good. WANT
Great brand@
Great review Marc! A question please : Is a Vostok Amphibia considered a “true compressor “? Thanks!
I do not believe so, it's a bayonet back.

The field watch is 👌👌👌
I own the Chris Ward version, and it's king of the super compressors
Wow this is amazing
This is like the hardness to my willard
Protrail in titanium would be great.
Ooooo, that sure would be.
Are Russian Vostock dive watches super compressors as well? The CIrcula field watch is a beauty.

Absolutely love the field watch and Super Sport compressor.
That field is awesome!
That Spinnaker stole the show.
The first ones, the blue ones, are beautiful.
👋🇷🇺
thanks!
LOVE SPROCKETS!!!
... Dieter ...
Very cool watches. A little pricey for me though. Thanks for sharing them and the info about compressor watches. Have a great day! 🙏🏼
thanks, you too
These are great looking watches with excellent metrics, IMO
Agreed 100%
Marc always wears the watch stick close at the palm, where looks weird
I must not spend more money.....I must not spend more money.....
I know the feeling!
Vostok = autocompressor 😀
hopefully that Seiko won't be sold as new ...
LOL. AR crystal!
Berny makes a rather attractive true compressor. Aliexpress

Gla-shoot? Glashütte? That's just terrible. 😂😂😂
Americans! What can I say
@@islandwatch Apparently not "Glashütte" 😂😂😂
GLAWSS HOOT UH.
@@islandwatch You say potato I say potarto ☺
Marc is slowly becoming increasingly woke, lol
