The Cool thing is I work with Terry “Cool T” Williams every day... and he’s still a class act! Never met anyone that got pushed out of the scene like him and still stay so humble!
"lost" Run DMC production was brought back to life courtesy of Def Jam - originally issued in 1985 it was released under the "Hollis Crew" moniker as they weren't allowed to release any material outside of their contract with Profile. "It's The Beat" is a classic, super-sparse hip-hop/electro joint with killer production from Mizell, Simmons and Rick Rubin
Still a great tune!! It's a shame Def Jam lost interest in these guys & there was no follow up 12" or LP. Can you imagine, a whole LP, produced by Rick, Run & Jay? That would've been tuff!
+steven spedden Also they did kind of stay on Def Jam/RAL label years later. Both Butter-Love & Kool Tee were later members of the short lived group The Afros along with Hurricane.
+steven spedden that is unfortunate this song never made it on CD in the states, according to Music Choice they've said the album it was featured on was "Not Available"
Well who did....cuz I want that and I'm looking for that record that stetasonic made, the record when they cutting on the girl named SALLY. I forgot the name of that group,it's been like 86' since i heard it......
Reginald Underwood do you mean Girls part 2 by The B-Boys on the Vinertainment label that Stetsasonic sampled “I know a girl named Sally” for on their 1988 hit record Sally? Information got that record can be found on Discogs.com
Reginald Underwood not sure 🤔 which record you’re talking about called pumpin’ it up ya’ll unless you have a sound bite of it we could hear. I’m guessing you might mean Pump That Bass (Live) By Original Concept who were also on the Def Jam label.
This is my joint is still have this 12in this is hip hop at it's finest
I HAD 'DOUBLES' OF THESE!!! 'HOLLIS CREW' ROCK ON!! BUTTER-LOVE AND COOL TEE!!!! THAT'S DJ.RUN ON THE WHEELS YA'LL!!!

just heard this on Music Choice and these guys definitely sound like RUN DMC, did this song ever see the light of day on CD?

I remember Music Choice! I used to LOVE listening to classic hip-hop channel all the time back when my family used to have DirecTV.
I USED TO HAVE THIS GOT STOLEN😡😡😡😡
One of the very first Run DMC spin offs. It would have been better if they had more recognition like Joe, Daryl, and Jason(RIP) did
That's right,I think they made pumpin it up y'all too?
Reginald Underwood Nope. I think not.
