A quick easy addition... add a magnet inside 1 corner and stitch across the corner so the magnet won't travel. Then it's always handy on the fridge! A thin sheet of tissue paper will keep the grippy from sticking to your machine.

Superb explanation and demonstration, especially of why you trim the corners at greater than 45° for the turning. Thanks, Timothy. ☺️

That was an excellent tutorial. You’re a great educator. I like how you explained everything in detail. But in a way that was easy to understand. Happy to have found you 😊

I am totally shocked, never thought to sew from right hand side, to open inside out... then go around and stop where you showed, for the 2-3 inch opening. That would save A LOT of time and thread. Thank you so much.

This is a great project. I have a jar gripper, but to make one like you did in the video is just genius. I'm so going to make some for family members. Thank you again.

Nice quick project. I like your choice of gripper fabric and the fussy cutting to get a nice print or graphic on the opener.

Always looking for ways to use left over mask material. I had a lot of masks cut out when most people stopped wearing them! You can’t give those leftover masks away! Everyone is just sick of masks!😂

I use the gripper fabric sewn on a drying dish pad for my sewing machine as a pad. Cuts noise, doesn't slip when I'm sewing. Way cheaper than buying a sewing machine mat for sure!

I came back to this video for your suggestions. I am going to add a loop so I can hang this on the side of my refrigerator. My fear is that my husband may grab it and think it is a potholder. Good tutorial. Thank you.

    • @TrishaVincent8057

I hope Tim does not mind if I answer this question.
My great grandmother hand -sewed many quilts. You could buy pre-cut fabric squares from a fabric store, quilt shop, or Walmart. Also buy a needle for hand sewing and spool of thread. Thread the needle, tie a knot, and mimic a sewing machine by poking the needle in and out of both layers of material. Remember, one layer is cut from a shelf liner. Look up hand sewing tutorials on RUclips to see how hand sewing is done. You may try to learn how to do the blanket stitch on RUclips. I am not sure how to describe it. You could also try using a spray adhesive (glue) and skip the sewing. Good luck! 😊
