The radio recording is the sound of RT Colorado, an 8 man team calling for immediate evac as a "prairie fire emergency" at the same time as RT Hawaii, another US element with unknown numbers. There are three reasons you'd call a prairie fire. You're taking contact from an overwhelming force, you're surrounded or about to be, or that death is imminent to your team. At that point, Colorado was running for their lives, having been wiped down to one man standing, one man being carried. 10 miles down the Ho Chi Minh trail, Hawaii has a prairie fire but they are "holding their own." Also, the man left standing on RT Colorado, Pat Mitchel, had just watched one of his guys die via RPG to the knee not very long before he started transmitting. I can't find the outcome... however, seeing at it was a prairie fire... I don't think it ended well for MACV.
