  • This ONE Book Has The Power to Change Your Life (5 Biggest Lessons)
If you are looking for the best book on self improvement, personal development, or self help, look no further than Psycho Cybernetics.
Originally written by Maxwell Maltz, a plastic surgeon over 60 years ago, this book is the single most influential self improvement book ever written (in my opinion).
Maltz was one of the first to synthesize old school psychology into actual real life examples of manifestation and self belief and to put it into terms that others could understand.
His book, Psycho Cybernetics, unlocked the true potential in humans to use their own self belief to change their own lives - and for that I am forever grateful.
If you can only read one self improvement book this year, make it Maxwell Maltz's Psycho Cybernetics - and you will be well on your way to achieve your dream life.

The books actually touches on very simple concepts like fake it till you make it, the power of beleif.
Things we already know but really just gives us a reason to apply them and truly understand them.
The main new thing about this book is the success mechanism and imagination but the rest seems to be common knowledge that we all need to be remonded of

Completely agreed, however I think that for me personally the first time that I read it, I didn't really know these concepts as they pertained to my life and how they could help drive the outcomes that I wanted to see in my life.

This sounds like a must-read and I haven't read it yet. Thanks for the great summary and I'm curious to learn more about it.
Some of this topic seems trickier to me than it's been presented, though I'm sure it's still a worthy read and worth applying.
My example is that a positive self-image or self-esteem alone isn't enough. It's surely a big component, but without the actual work and practice to meet a goal, it doesn't usually end up happening, unless the goal is relatively easy.
But you're right of course that for people as in the examples you gave, Michael Jordan and so forth, they visualized and believed in themselves, and of course, they probably worked harder than anyone else too, not to mention genetic talents and so on.
What makes more sense to me is that when you're attempting to reach peak performance, to outperform an elite field, any edge will perhaps help you make a breakthrough. If you train believing in yourself and visualizing and so on, that can make all the difference then.

Thanks for the feedback, this is why for the first point the action that I suggest is to set a goal, create a plan, and begin working towards that plan. I explain that taking that first step, continuing to take action, and do what you are saying you are going to do improves your trust in yourself, which will improve your self image.
Manifestation and visualization are just the first step. MJ and the other examples were only successful because at the end of the day, the stepped on the court after having put in the work to perform at their best

@@davidschlais David - Thanks for that response! I see now, brilliant - yes this is the perfect combo... both of these take dedication, but its well worth it.

Uncompromisingly forthright analysis !! David it is said that 'Writing' is the most important yet Underrated skill of the century so i want to know how to learn it effectively ? How it impacts our career & any mentors or books that could shed some light on it ??

    • @davidschlais
      @davidschlais  6 месяцев назад +4

I think that the best way to learn how to write honestly is just by doing it. Journaling is a great way to start, as is tweeting! Learning to tweet and capture attention effectively is a great way to learn to write hooks.
Dan Koe who I admire a lot also posted a great video on this topic just this morning which I listened to which has some amazing insights on "frameworks" to help you capture attention, explain ideas, and engage readers.
This RUclips channel, for me, is actually an exercise in writing. Each video I put an immense amount of time into framing and (hopefully) explaining concepts or books that have helped me in ways that viewers can understand.
What other questions do you have?

Im actually in the process of reading this book. In some part it gives off quite weird basis to the thoughts author formulates. Specifically I was baffled with referring to the Laboratory of Parapsychology “they proved all of this is true”. Other things like”if perfect God made us, why would he create something flawed as humans ”… And some other things seem a bit “trust me bro”.
I’m curious because I’ve heard a lot of good things about Psycho-cybernetics, but something always throws me off when I try to read it.
BTW no hate, just genuine curiosity.

For the book I really try and focus more on the principles and concepts and understand that this was written during a time where every idea that he had in the book was pretty much going against dogma and tribal belief.
There are definitely some things about the book that I would change, but the ideas and concepts in the book at large have had massive impact for me regardless of some of how he makes his points
