2020 Edge, just replaced purge valve hose assembly on mine at around 68,000 miles, wife has one also her light just came on for the same thing hers has 64,000
Yes same I’m hoping I Have flex plate issues right now ford Ruined our vacation cost me 500.00 Airb&b rental no refund ford can suck it, dad gave 39 years to that place and father n law 30 years, making 45k econolines that only take 8k to build ford can suck it!!
I have a 2015 Edge, the rear tail light assembly fills with condensation. The Ford dealer replaced it twice under warranty. After 14 months the second replacement filled once again with condensation. Unfortunately they said it was beyond the 12 months and would charge $1,425 to replace. This is a common issue, but no recall, bummer.
yes, same issue with my 2015 edge. condensation. worse yet, never a mechanical issue in 100.000 miles, now the car transmission jerks and like someone slams brakes on. my oil change shop drove it today and shifted perfect. He shifted the auto trans out manual. Shifted auto and it goes nuts again. only me could this happen to......ANY IDEAS b for l make my trans shop appt. next week?
They fixed the problem in 2020 with the coolant intrusion that started in 2015 with the redesign of the block to allow for more cooling ford went from a closed deck to an open deck cooling system the problem was they cut slits in between the cylinders for better cooling they wanted more performance out of the 2 liter Ecoboost which took away the strength from the cylinders and with all the heat cycles that the engine went through would cause the cylinders to crack allowing coolant to enter the cylinders causing obvious coolant consumption and also causing misfires too mainly with cylinders 2 and 3 those were the problem ones it started with a class action lawsuit a tsb and eventually a recall. Under the the recall Ford would replace the engine with an engine with the updated block ones that were built before 2020. In 2020 ford redesigned the block again they kept the open deck design but instead of slits they cross drilled small holes in between the cylinders to allow for better cooling. This design kept all the ''meat'' in between the cylinders thus completely eliminating the coolant intrusion problem. hope this helps . I'm a lube tech at a small ma and pop shop in Wisconsin we have 3 locations any way one of our mainline techs knows ford ecoboost engines very good he's the one that told me all this he's done a lot of the ones that had the coolant intrusion problem.
Was it caused by the water pump leaking in the timing chain case? V-6 3.5 L with water pump in timing chain enclosure will leak coolant into oil and destroy engine. Goofy design.
Just like a Ford Edge, my engine check light turned on a month after buying it from the dealership and its been on now for 2yrs. Too expensive to get it fix. I have a '17 Tatanium smh. No more new Fords for this family... unless Ford fixes it with no cost...
2017 AWD SEL. Has "cold weather option" pkg but warm air from blower is only directed to areas above wiper resting position at base of windshield & wipers remain frozen in place while rest of windshield warms up. With 2018 models the same option package has a heating element in windshield at base to melt ice. Also found that 2017 Escapes with same option pkg had heating wires but not Edge's. Another item is that some vehicles, (a Ford TSB from 2017 showed that this one was included per its VIN) were built with bad underbody panel attachments that would fail creating a rattling sound inside cabin while driving in crosswinds. Dealer has made 5 attempts that failed after a few months since original & now with 75000 miles rattles are back. Between poor engineering & service I'm done with Fords.

Thank you for all this great information! My wife's 2015 Ford Edge has a noisy Heater Blower Motor. I will be replacing it soon.

2015-2020 some ecoboost motors have oil leaks from the turbocharger oil supply line and drain tube
2015-2016 bolts that fasten something to the steering gear break and have to be replaced and sometimes the whole steering gear assembly has to be replaced
2015-2020 with 2.7 ecoboost motors has a defective coolant sensor
2015-2018 fuel pump experience premature pressure
Heater blower motor gets noisy after time and fails
Typical turbo motor has extra carbon build up around the valves (which is normal)

I been driving my Edge 2.0/V4/ ecoboost/2020, since today. I change the oil every 5,000 miles. Is still driving great ( Has 50,000 Miles).
And this is why i want to get rid of my 2016 edge, if ford would fix these issues I'd stay with ford
Yes same I’m hoping I

I have a 2019 edge titanium and it needs a new engine because of what it running rough, spitting white smoke, and it always being low on coolant.
EGR COOLER
@CUBEBROZ I'd extend the warranty, then get them to replace the engine, I'd just sell the car after that
which motor ? I assume the 3.5/3.7L v6 ?
Anybody has a problem with the parking sensors? I have a 2015 Edge

Drill a small hole in the low spot to drain the water. That's what I did and it works like a champ.

Quick question to owners of this suv is the 3.5 V6 the best option to go with?
Yes the most reliable option
Coolant intrusion on all 2.0L ecoboost is VERY common and Ford won't fix it. Should be a recall like the 1.6L

2016 edge 2.0 ecoboost jerks when shifting from 2nd to 3rd gear. All other gears run smooth and downshifts smooth
Having that issue on 2015 escape. 2.5 engine.
Did you ever find out what the issue is?
Motors are bad too Ford will not fix I'm 72 yrs old and stuck with a 400 payment for yard ornament of no use😢
My ford edge 2017 having coolant internal leakage issue now . Apparently need to replace engine

Same here I'm more for Ford, but if they don't fix there issues, I'm going Dodge or Chevy
Whats the problem?
Same. I got coolant intrusion and needs a new engine. FACTORY LATENT DEFECT and for is turning their backs on the victims. No more ford for me.

When i downshift the trans feels like itslips, car begins to vibrates
Leakant cooling in cyl 3...
So the 2021 dont have any particular problems.
2022 don't have any problems
That because is new but wait couple years then the problem will appear.
