      Or her TERRIBLE attitude. She was known to be rude and vexatious to so many that didn't deserve it, and a selfmade victim for those that did. She allowed much, like her first love to be ripped away, because when you're always the victim, you can always be terrible.

    Margaret had told her family at her own birthday how her husband was having an affair but instead of getting her family’s support, they talked how the scandal would be bad for her to get a divorce.

      @@hey-zl6vs I guess what I’m getting at is they scolded Margaret for wanting to pursue a divorce but when Philip was having his affairs it was crickets. And allegedly there was a point where he (Philip) considered divorce as he was unhappy in the marriage because he supposedly felt emasculated having to be subservient to his wife, who is also the sovereign. They covered that in season two of the series. Naturally, everybody got up an arm over that particular episode. To which I remind them it’s fiction and all they (the writers) have to go on is speculation and rumor. Naturally, they’re not going to get it right so they have to do the best they can with what Little is available about these people.

      It's the truth though. The Royals play chess with both the public and the press. Any slip up and they go into panic mode. If only I think that the show didn't dramatize the family enough. Read Prince Harry's book 'Spare' to know more details about their treatments.

    All she wanted was ti Bev with Peter Townsend. All of her unhappiness, smoking, excessive drinking and “indiscretions” was because the family did want her to marry a man who was divorced. She was crying for help due to her loneliness. Sad.

  • @AlexandraAndStuff
    @AlexandraAndStuff 10 месяцев назад +176

    I never really understood why they were all so hysterical about even a tiny bit of "scandal", but had no problem with keeping Margaret unhappy all her life. And then of course not taking any blame for what happened to her ever after.
    And it's kinda true across the board. Maybe that were different times, but who the hell cares if they landed on the cover of the newspapers. Did people really came demanding the whole monarchy be abolished the second an affair or a divorce happened?
