Thank you for all you do for all the Toyota Sequoia owners. As a disabled veteran, I can not do the work myself. I am looking for someone to replace the rear axel and put an air locker in. Again thanks.....
I’ve followed so much of your stuff! I’m about to tackle an exhaust swap and it’s always cool seeing someone do it before you try it. Thanks for rocking out some good work!
@treehouseoffroad that exhaust is top notch. I got exhaust done when I was in high-school. The guys were done in 45 minutes. Rattling pipes is what I got. Your exhaust is better than factory
Fine work as always. I keep wanting quieter exhaust as I get old, but I know flipping those cut outs open must bring instant grins. Quick shot of the custom spindles was a bonus. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks my man. I haven't done a long trip yet, that's when you really notice if your exhaust is too loud. I might end up toning it down a bit but for now I'm digging it.
Sounds great! I have selectable exhaust diverters on my boat and it’s great to be able to run it loud or quiet. Never thought about putting them on the Sequoia though, may need to consider it! Videos are awesome and getting better all the time, keep it up boss! 😄👍🏻
@@treehouseoffroadit’s working just like it should! I am trying to get a local shop to do the front so I can match the rear but they are so busy I’m not sure when I’m going to have it finished. Soon hopefully!
@@treehouseoffroad you say you’re decent at all of this stuff but seriously man, you know what you’re doing and you’re just naturally gifted at this type of work.
Thank you, the exhaust cutouts are actually slightly quieter than straight pipes because inevitably some of the exhaust flow ends up going through the muffler. They cut outs don't entirely divert the exhaust they just open up and let some of it out
@@treehouseoffroad ok thank you! The driving at the beginning of the video is that with the straight pipes or was that with the cutouts already installed? Thanks again!
Hey Phin, are you running the total chaos uniball conversion or are they solo motorsports? And how are you liking them vs oem? The sequoia sounds sick, I really like the cutout option.

I say a beefier transmission video. Something with the transmission. It is definitely the weak link with mine. 180k miles my engine sounds great but I have to manually shift my transmission or it's just extremely sluggish left in D. When I manually shift it. It feels like a new truck. not sure why
@@treehouseoffroad 2001. I say try column shifting it while offloading. It's so solid. Cause mine feels like a slushy in D. I was thinking of getting 2 c5 or c6 corvette mufflers and fitting them in the muffler area of the sequoia. For dual exhaust. Mild but with better flow
@@Nick-wr7vv The A340 isn't known for its performance. Unless you're talking about it being more sluggish than usual, it may just be the nature of those four speeds. I drove a few '01- '04s before buying my '06, and one of the reasons I did was because of just how underwhelming the four speed transmission felt. The extra power of the VVTi engine was also very welcome on road, but I'm speaking strictly about the transmission here. The A750 shifts smoother and faster, there's less RPM drop between gears, it hunts for gears far less, and while this is subjective, I think it makes the truck feel more... eh... sporty, I guess? Kinda hard to call a body on frame SUV "sporty," but I think you know what I mean. Anyway, I digress... I also manually shift the transmission off road and will shut OD off around town just to give me a bit more throttle braking so I'm not dancing back and forth between the pedals to maintain distance behind someone. My only two gripes are that I have to reach forward to push a button for first gear, and that there isn't a 2nd gear start button like the Land Cruisers have. And a solid axle, but I'm working on fixing that. :)
@Prototheria that's interesting about the transmissions. So I've been periodically shifting on the column. And when I leave it in D it seems to hold 4th gear better. Before it seems like it was slipping. I mean 23 year old truck and who knows what it's been through. But its like I reconditioned it. Maybe the higher rpms are pushing more fluid I. There and cleaning some stuff out. I'm not sure. My next task is stainless steel front brake lines with some wagner pads and new rotors. Get rid of that shake it's had 4 years ago when I got it. But the motor sure does come alive manually shifting. All 250 hp:) when I manually shift my dad's wrangler with the 8 speed. That thing rips. Especially with roof and doors off. I've never driven a car with stainless steel brake lines. Especially with my new technique of bleeding the brakes. I take out the pads and pump out the brakes. Open the bleeder and push out the fluid that's right behind the piston by pushing the brake piston back into the caliper. Cause I figure that's where the air is going to be. At the end. Not in the line. When I have the car off and hit the brakes. It's a solid pedal. No more kinda hard. Toyota or whoever designed that transmission did a great job. Those things are so complex. Then I see my friends vw atlas. It has the smallest transmission I've ever seen. And I think it's 6 or 8 gears. I drove it once. It was searching for 2nd or 3rd. Made some noises and then I think I felt it slip. Who knows . They make stuff so small and cheap to save on gas now. Can't wait to see the next video

Those are custom 1.5" uniball LBJ's that I fabricated for the 9" Tundra front diff swap to accept the larger Tundra CV axles

Is it an aftermarket UCA? Does it hit at the top or bottom of the suspension cycle?
Nice ! Any torque loss with these short tube headers ?
Judging from my butt dyno I gained power. But I also removed both catalytic converters and increased the diameter of the exhaust pipe throughout

Not in the near future, I just love IFS too much. You will see a big old 9" Tundra front diff going in my Sequoia pretty soon though

Around 50 bucks or so

I actually do manipulate the trans manually while offroading, it's fun. I use 1st gear quite a bit for steep inclines and declines
