If you love dogs and cats they are the perfect addition to a family.
Not a fan of cats, but as I live on a farm have to have them about, my wife and kids are the cat people, I am a dog person. If your circumstances do not suit dog ownership, a cat makes a good alternative, not as good a company as dogs as being more distant.
To all the parents who gifted their child/children a puppy/dog, I say this from experience, "Thank You!"
It’s invaluable really & it’s golden domestic moments like these that make life grand. Cats & dogs are gifts to humanity. They are one of the best things in this life that enrich us in numerous ways. A pet cat or dog is one of the greatest gifts you could bestow on yourself or loved ones. They make us happier & better. That’s priceless. Also, teaching the next generation to be loving pet parents is important especially in this day in age which is so chaotic & divisive.

Most people welcome dogs, puppies or adult dogs with great joy, even crying with joy. It's like welcoming human babies. I tihink it's because everyone needs some living beings to love and being loved.
A dog is good company and once treated properly will defend its family or pack to the last. My two daughters brought our dog for a walk into the village. As they were meeting a man our dog growled, the two girls crossed the street with the dog, he continued to give the odd growl and eyed the nan suspiciously until they were well past him. Later on there was an incident involving another girl and who we think was the same man.
My father was more of a GSD type of man because he was wondering by the border. He learn to speak English fluently back in the day. And that is where he got the pet-peeve of RTT (RIN-TIN-TIN). My dad would bring GSD back in the day when my brothers and I were children. The last big dog that we had a Beauceron. He was like 14 when I had to place him up in the sky. He along with the GSDs and a Malinois that we had are now with my parents now somewhere in a sled while they are getting pulled by them. My brothers brought 2 Pomskies for my mom after my father's passing so she does not feel lonely. 2 adorable girls. But unfortunately, she passed on last October. Not a day goes by for the girls. They miss their grandma so much.

Good to see some no shrieking, I don't mind when it is kids, they have not learned to control their emotions, it is the adults, especially when there are already dogs there. You can help but wonder do they see the dogs as collectors items rather than a pet. I always have a border collie, but for herding cattle rather than a desirability factor, has the suitability of the breed for the house hold been overlooked in these cases in favour of obtaining their dream dog.
