Oh man. "The Crew" (punk rock kids) spot from the late 70s to the 90s or whatever. So much of my life in those 6 blocks or so. Fuck, we robbed all those rich people's houses except for some local surf royalty that had a house there. The brothers at that house were Crew, too. But mellower and probably better kids. They could totally hang and they ripped, too. There dad said "S... keep M. out of you guy's worst stuff and I'll be grateful" or something like that. M. would yell at me for shoving him out when we were going to do something criminal and get money. But I promised his dad. Some of us did time for our bullshit, too. Chunks of time. Black Flag, Circle Jerks, and Dead Kennedys shows all before 1980 (or 81 for Circle Jerks at the warehouse by Harvey West). A lot of shit went down in those few blocks.
