No matter how many times I read this on all her now finite number of videos I find is so difficult to accept that we will not have the future blossoming of her career to its full and deserved potential.. much more of a loss and grief to her husband family and friends of course and my thoughts go to them first and foremost... And to all who have lost a young loved one to this awful disease of cancer. May a prevention or cure please come soon for all cancers. Rest in Peace Patricia..

I remember seeing this beautiful girl singing in a church several years ago and have only today heard of her tragic death. A tragic death for her family, her partner and the whole world. There simply cannot be a God for such a desperately sad loss at such a young age, with so much not done. Truly tragic.

As i read about this competition Patricia was the youngest (16 yo) of all other singers and of course with the least training years and was with a cold during this competition (i guess that explains the heavy coat shes wearing).
The complete finalists concert is available on You Tube. Patricia deserved that first prize by a good margin, although the only teenage competitor in a field of singers in their 20s and 30s. This performance was stunningly beautiful, captivating.
What a beautiful voice, so well trained and suitable for sacred oratorios or secular operas! :) Lovely Patricia has gotten such an early start, and seems to take such care of her voice, that she seems headed for a spectacular career with great acclaim and awards :) The religious selection, apparently written by J. S. Bach in the early 1700s, seems rather quiet and low- key (dull?), but Ms. Janeckova was able to use it to capture the victory; I WOULD like to know the name of it ... Patricia has also been able to sing some classical crossover music successfully, e.g., the excerpt from Morricone's movie ONCE UPON A TIME IN THE WEST that Jackie Evancho includes on her AWAKENING album, Leonard Cohen's lovely "Hallelujah," etc. Am looking forward to more beautiful performances by this versatile and carefully trained young lady :)

Once more, I am not very qualified to assess German, but as far as I can say, this sounds to me as being beautiful German, in addition to the extraordinary sound of her voice. It must have been magic to be there in the very nice Santa Maria sopra Minerve church in Rome (close to the Pantheon).

Wow, Bach is so difficult to sing! It requires not only a flexible voice but innate and studied musicality to handle those lines. We hope to hear much more from this fine singer.
