    I actually heard that another factor playing into the less spinning is the fact that the company that produced the parts for the ride went out of business, meaning they can’t produce new parts for the ride, so if too many parts receive damage they may have to close the ride permanently.
    Although I’m sure the kid friendly-ness plays a factor.

    • @StorybookAmusement
      @StorybookAmusement  3 года назад +10

      I’ve heard that recently too. I’m not too sure how much that affects the ride considering MIB runs two tracks (twice as many parts to wear out). I’m open to learning more about it though!

    • @gregg5958
      @gregg5958 3 года назад +1

      I don’t know why they’d have to close the ride permanently. Why not just put in a new ride system and overhaul the ride? The company that manufactured Disneyland’s dark rides went out of business long ago and yet those rides still operate just fine and Disneyland even just redid their Snow White ride.

    • @coltonsupergame
      @coltonsupergame 3 года назад +3

      @@gregg5958 That's the problem though. Universal doesn't want to maintain this ride anymore. It's very clear when you ride it that this ride has needed a fresh coat of paint (literally and metaphorically) as many of the animatronics are sagging, and some of the effects plain don't work.
      I think at this point Universal would probably prefer putting in a new ride than maintaining the cat in the hat ride as a new ride would draw much more crowds and it would be a new addition to an aging area, which would be desperately needed.

    • @StorybookAmusement
      @StorybookAmusement  3 года назад +1

    • @gregg5958
      @gregg5958 3 года назад +5

      @@coltonsupergame But apparently they make lots of money on merchandise at end of ride, so it seems like maintaining the ride would be in their best interest. Plus what else could they put there? Replacing the Cat in the Hat would be like Disney replacing Mickey.

    I recently rode this ride and my car kept turning in the wrong directions. Our car was facing away from the spinning cat in the hat after the lame CRASH area, and our car does a MEN IN BLACK speed turn (WAYY MORE VIOLENT then MIB spins) to turn the car towards the show scene. From what I experienced that ride the parts theory is a lie, and they simply just toned down the spinning program. The spinning on that ride was more aggressive on my recent ride (which is this one) and I don't know if it was the vehicle or a new update from Universal.
    For the dizzy cat in the hat scene, just imagine the vehicle facing completely towards left side then abruptly spinning 360 faster than MIB and HARD STOPPING when it was facing forward again. It was violent enough to throw everyone on the vehicle across the seating towards eachother. 6:07 is the scene I am referencing, just imagine it doing that spin, then stopping facing the left hand wall, then IMMEDIATELY DOING A 360 LIKE MIB
    Seems like the spinning tone-down is just bc of universal lol

    • @jonathanwallis3300
      @jonathanwallis3300 3 года назад +11

      I much preferred the crazy spins, as a lot of the show scenes weren’t designed properly as they were designed with the crazy spinning in mind. Without the spinning option, the effects of show scenes like the closet scene and “crash” scene look very cheap and lackluster. Plus attendance for the ride has dropped SIGNIFICANTLY since the got rid of the spinning all together.
