Joe
When I first started on the job as a LEO in the LA area in 1970, our department used the B&M SUPER CHIEF electromechanical siren and Federal 66 type sirens. In the LA area these were more effective than the electronic sirens. When we switched to the Federal Interceptor siren with one speaker, it was not very good at clearing traffic and if going faster than 50 MPH, I thought it useless. Our fire department used primarily Crown Coaches fire trucks and we had a couple of Seagraves. One truck had the triple spinning light (pinwheel type) that was technically not acceptable under Title 13. The rest had the Propello Ray, Model 17 beacons, single faced steady red Dietz lights and flashing Amber Dietz lights on the rear. Now everything is lightbars and mostly LED type. Say what you will but the electro-mechanical sirens were the best for the LA area as far as clearing traffic was concerned. The old fire trucks were reliable and built to last for decades.

"If you want to be a fireman and you want to put out fires, you must turn on one first, that of love towards humanity.-
"Firefighters do not practice their profession to be heroes and take credit for their actions; they are firefighters for their authentic appreciation for people and their safety"
"What many people call being a hero, the firemen call it doing their job"
"The firemen exist because even the police officers need heroes"
"The true heroes do not wear tight suits, they do not imitate spiders or bats, they can not fly; and however sometimes they die trying to do it"
Phrases about firefighters.

So many tillers. Thank you. Great footage.
Who was the lover who ran across traffic to get a picture of the truck!?
@0:20 That was first time when I heard ambulance stuttering. Nice video. 👍
I think the driver or passenger did it on purpose. Annoying !
Ambulance in the 1st video wasn't sure what to say
7:29 gotta love the howler tone, sounds awesome with wail.
I agree!!
Thank you for saying the name of it, I've been trying to find out what it's called ever since I heard one on a vehicle in my area (I've never seen it yet, just heard the siren)
Fun fact. I built the montgomery county spartan tiller trucks.
That pinwheel like light in the front is sure interesting. Definitely gets your attention!
3:11 peace
Have you ever thought of doing Southern Maryland counties like Charles St. Mary's or Calvert????
Steven Orff Yes I have but I just haven’t had the time to plan something out like that
The adrenaline rush is logging-onto the 911 activity feed to discover where they are responding to and then getting there to record-the-action.
Those were all videos of Montgomery County Fire Rescue Arlington County Fire department Fairfax County Fire Rescue & Frederick County Fire Rescue

Great compilation!
Alan Walker74 thanks for watching be sure to share the channel!
The 1st ambulance driver got the siren skills lol
thomas baker he was playing the fire fighter song
1:37 & 2:00 there was 2 of old and NEW Truck 731
Liam Dempsey Fire Photography the first one was truck 31 FYI
Why does some of the trucks have a pinwheel looking at the front?
Its called a roto ray, only ever seen it on American trucks
.It supprised me that at 13:30 the cut across an grass Island to cross over! Can the county not have that paved! Great Video and looks like many departments knew this fire buff with toots!
Looks paved where they cross. They just leave a curb to deter non-emergency vehicles using it to u-turn.
0:29 what siren is that on the ambulance
*_Oh God. Nice Video Dude_*
Awesome compilation two 👍 up
Thanks for watching! Be sure to share!

Worldwide firefighters will always be the number one👍🏻🚒⛑️
what kind of siren that tiller truck is using.
Looked like the heavy rescue ran that red light a little fast! 1:20 1:23
Yup ! Never, ever a good idea to run a red. I take slack with my turns, and that's cool. But running a red is never cool !! My turns are a bit fast, but I'm aware of everything : water in the tank causing momentum shifts. I may get it up on 2 wheels, but that's all :-)
Aaron Michael are you implying you were the engineer on that rescue?
@@aaronmichael7116 it's because they do it for a purpose, they need to get to the emergency fast, so they run the lights
why was truck 710 responding in fairfax co on 123 by the CIA?
Why do some many American fire engines sound like they're torturing a cat? The engine bays at the 4:58ish mark look so similar to those in the UK.
I love the tower at 4 minutes
Me too ! You can tell that station doesn't have a rookie at it though. It's tough to tell if the paint used was red or dirt !! :-)
I think that’s tower 703.

@2:35 does anyone know what type of air horn that was? Doesnt sound like a Hadley E-tone or a Grover stuttertone.

Pisses me off why the police don't write the firemen tickets for cutting in front of lines, running red lights and all the traffic violations they do......
