Thank you for this! I love Ole Mas, Canboulay, and Jouvert much more than wearing a bikini and pum pum shorts on Monday and Tuesday! So many traditional characters that are no longer or rarely seen. Baby doll, Bookman, Harlequin, Cow Mas, Negue Jardin, Sebucan, etc. Looks like traditional African Mas to me as well. I will take doubles with plenty peppa, cucumber and tamarind. Please and thanks. Keep the videos coming!
This is a good way to showcase CARNIVAL. Brings back memories of the characters that showed up at the house in Barrackpore (in the 60's) These look exactly like them. May be a good idea to talk about keeping safe as well...good for tourism.
thank you so much! I went to school in Tobago in spring 1987 & played Mas in Trinidad in 1987 & in Tobago in 1991.... This has just made me so homesick! I have tabanca!
Well I’m being as safe as can be, but sometimes I won’t lie, I move with faith, especially when I went Paramin Parang last month….but I’m happy you are enjoying the videos 😁
@@dyfanbaxter2983 thanks for this info, but makes me wonder why Shadow would have sung that line if it wasn’t some truth in it at some point apart from the whipping art form or that it’s the jab molasses he referring 2
Nice, nice, nice . Love all these characters . Well not all . Some scared me as a child . Them devils , mudmass and oh gosh them Jab-Jab . How many remember an antidrug ad which had a jabjab..... And who can forget the bats , i mean one bat can be scary( Bruce Wayne know this ) but a whole band of bats🙄😂🤣. Thanks for the vid. Bye .And as always be alert and stay safe .
The Individual competition occurs the Tuesday before Carnival, so this year it’ll be on Tuesday 6th Feb 2024 at Adam Smith square in Woodbrook, it should start around 7pm and is open to the public….there is a parade on fantastic Friday around noon in town itself..hoping to cover that one of these days
The Carnival Village has been opened from the 19th of Jan 2024 and will be open every day until Feb 4th I believe, they open from 6pm during the week and I think around 11ish on weekends
Loved the ole mas display. I honestly think that more appreciation is needed for the traditional mas characters 💯.
Definitely agree with this

6:21 I thought it was illegal to tamper with money😳
Back in school, we made a project with coins and the teachers were on our case for that
It is once it has a value assigned to it, but our 1 cent no longer carries any value, and it’s no longer in production from our central bank
Enjoyed this all the way here in South East Asia.
Nice 🙌🏽🙌🏽 I’m happy you enjoyed it
🇨🇦🇹🇹👍👍
Thanks Gary
And please go to Ken's doubles in curepe
We reaching there sometime this year, no worries 😁

Do you know that Trinidad 🇹🇹 in the 50tys and 60tys had the best coco in the world, believe it or not, from Bellrose NY
I most definitely believe that and still think our trinitario cocoa is the best in the world
Is this village open all year or only for carnival it would be nice if nice if the open all year so we Trinidadian you can't make for carnival.
Unfortunately it’s only till Carnival, Fantastic Friday to be exact
Wrong information about traditional mas.
Please advise as I got these info from NALIS, the National Trust of T&T and the Guardian interviewing Nexy Level Devils
