- Williams Arizona Route 66 Walking Tour, Dinner, and Zip-Line!
Come along as we enjoy the nostalgia of Route 66 in Williams, Arizona. We recently spent a night here and walked around downtown after eating dinner at the Pine Country Restaurant. The town has maintained its
historic charm!
Williams, Arizona proclaims itself as the "Gateway to the Grand Canyon," attracting countless visitors who use Williams as a base for exploring the majestic natural wonder.
Williams was founded in 1881 by a man named Bill Williams, who was a legendary mountain man and guide in the Old West. The Atlantic and Pacific Railroad, later known as the Santa Fe Railroad, arrived in the area in 1882. Williams quickly developed into a vital rail hub, serving as a gateway to the Grand Canyon and a key stop along the transcontinental railroad route. The town's strategic location made it a crucial point for trading, shipping goods, and transporting passengers.
In the early 20th century, the construction of Route 66, one of America's most iconic highways, further enhanced Williams' significance. The town became a popular stopping point for travelers making their way westward. Motels, diners, and businesses sprang up along the route, giving rise to a vibrant and nostalgic roadside culture that still echoes through the town today.

😲😋 😁👏 Love Pine Country
It’s so gorgeous!!
I've been here many time's and I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT there 🥰
I’m so glad we stopped! We’ve always passed it over the years!
Funny. I SO do not remember the zip line when we were there to film the Grand Canyon Railroad. Then again, it was early morning and not quite as hopping as it is as shown in your video. We just parked, walked around a bit and grabbed breakfast before heading to the station. Looks pretty fun!
The zipline must be new! Such a cute town. I want to do the train next!
😁👏 love this video

You are most welcome! It’s a cute town!
We have been to Williams a couple times and enjoyed it. We ate at the Route 66 diner that showed in the video. We have done the train ride once. thanks for sharing.
I'll bet that diner was good! I really want to try the train ride. Did you go up and come back the same day? Or did you ride the train and stay at the Grand Canyon?
@@SwiftyTravels we had stayed at the canyon a couple years before so we just went up and back the same day. We actually spent a 4th of July at the canyon.
I wanted to take a moment to express my gratitude for the wonderful videos you share about different places in the USA, especially the recent one about Route 66. Your content truly brings those places to life and allows us to experience them from afar. Thank you for your dedication and hard work in creating such informative and enjoyable content. Keep up the fantastic work! 😊🎥
Thanks again! You are very kind!!
Wow great tour. I lived in Arizona 5 years but never been to this area and plan on taking Ron to Arizone over the next year or two and added this as a stop. Funny you mentioned chicken fried steak one of Ron's favorite meals. That zip line reminded me of the Vegas one. Those desserts at beginning looked great. The zipline was a good price. Wow looked like at sunset. Thanks for sharing really enjoyed this video and your channel.
Thanks so much! We were really pleasantly surprised with what this little place had to offer! :-)
I wanna be you! Fun stuff! I heard about the road from Peach springs AZ that you can drive to the base of the canyon. Have you done that before?
Thank you! I have not done that road before, that sounds fun!! There is so much to explore in Arizona!
