Stan is in denial about everything. His childhood, his country, his profession... You can excuse the childhood bit, since it was traumatic. But everything else, is his narcissist side. The good thing is that every episode that features his belligerent denial usually has him pay for it.
So Stan’s horrible personality and inconsiderate idealisms are NOT a result of his abused and neglected childhood. But are, in fact, genetic traits (most likely inherited from his father’s side). In other words; Stan’s awful by nature.

Its impossible to assign realistic personality traits to any of them since the show moved to TBS. The quality of writing totally changed, they made Stan dumber and more over-the-top, Steve became an even more hysterical bitch, and Francine became whatever the show needed that particular week. I still hate Ro-gew, wished he'd expire.
I think the ending would've been better if everyone remembered everything about what they did and why and got pissed at Stan for forcing them to act like him, especially the other Smiths.
Has anyone ever wondered why the side of Stan’s chin suddenly shifts down 90 degrees (depending on the direction of the outline) before changing back, kinda like a Tetris piece?
