I like the metal effect. It looks pretty good without being too bright.

I like how you used zealot yellow to base the gold/bronze metallics. Neat idea.

Wow, the size of that brush. I wouldn't be able to detail anything with that big thing. It is quite impressive how good you make the mini look though despite that big thing.

It's got to be awkward with the camera placement but the results speak for themselves. I really want to try speedpaints and see what I can pull off for my miniatures.

The pose of the model looks sweet, the paints really shined on the sword, helm, and shoulders for sure. Amazing job.

I haven't considered using a speedpaint base (like zealot yellow) with a metallic drybrush. I have just been using straight metallic paint, but I really like this idea.

Looks like 'everyone' is now doing the top down primer spray, of which I may end up doing the same on my builds/paints.

How is speed paint different from normal paint? Or different from a wash or varnish? Can we get a video that talks about the different types of paints and how they're different, what they're for?

That turned out actually really sick! I can see where maybe the gold didn't look exactly like what you wanted. Unrelated note I like the Alkaline Trio beanie 🤣 got to see them open for Coheed and Cambria a while back!

I enjoy these videos and have used speed paints and learned to live with the reactivation... but my results are not as good as yours. On the other hand, I have never used acrylics in between to cover up my mistakes. Seriously though, if you are going to have to touchup mistakes with acrylics, why use speed paints at all? it does not seem to be speedy... Instead, why not just use acrylics throughout?

Personally, I use speedpaints because I like the way that they flow around the details of the model. I have found that fixing small areas after completing a single speedpaint coat, takes less time than the standard "two coat method" While it is not a significant saving in time, I enjoy the finished results.
