- Well after almost a year of working on these off and on they are finally done....almost. Probably my two heaviest knives I've done to date. Definitely not the most practical kukris in the world but they make up for it by shear cool factor. Thanks for watching
both of these are sold
Online store: dbblades.bigcartel.com/

Nothing seems thick anymore after that crazy ti knife you did awhile back XD
haha yeah. I should've done these first then the 25mm one
DB Blades between these and the 25mm ti knife what was the hardest one to do?
dunno really. they both where tough to make in different ways
I love thick
Ground in Fire is my new favorite show. Mainly because now that I just learned draw the template cut it and sand it, gives you basically the same results as hammering and forging and looks much easier to actually accomplish.
1/2" thick knife?!?!?! Your crazy Dom... and that's why we love you.
hahaha yeah. It actually seemed a lot less crazy in my head....until i started trying to cut them out...
@@armageddonknives Sometimes crazy is better than sane.

Epic blade Sir. I want one !
Those kukuri's are BORN with attitude!! :)
On a knife that thick, you have the nerve to add on a handle haha! Keep up the good work!
Beautiful and gracious
The grind reminds me of Sting from LOTR. Also thanks for the ring, should be arriving any day.
awesome kukris
Outstanding!
cheers
How have I not seen this video being that I've been subscribed for a long time?? Well done sir
Mind blowing blades. Keep it up 👌👌👍👍
I likey and in all honestly could put one to use. Good on ya for the build.
Way cool!
Beautiful 😱 I Need One!!!!
The way they’re ground reminds me of the Hobbit Knives/short swords. Excellent choppers, good outdoorsman tool.
love it dom from Sindicit blades
What a beautiful BEAST 👍👍
DANG those are some monster blades my man!!!!
thanks
These Kukris are the first tool id take in a zombie apocalypse.
haha yeah. they sure as hell wouldn't get stuck too easy
You would get ripped by just using them.
I just bought a 6mm thick kukri thsts about the same size.
Its friggin heavy.
We need thicker choppers ! Exellent work. Would be perfect for forging in the bevel vs stock removal. These would sell fast !!
Wow those are some wild animals!!!
A question please, how many grinding belts you use to make them?
Alf Reds this
maybe 12 all together but I can't really remember
Thats the most thickest spine I've ever seen. No one has the guts to attempt grinding something so thick. Impressive.
I do this constantly with my knifemaking.
I'd love to see you make a karambit with that thicker stock. If those kukiris are any example a karambit would be a total monster.
great looking knife\sword mate. at wat temp did you harden and temper it?
Very pretty!!!
Bro a customer ask me for one crazy knife like those, I just started it this week, I need to know, how heavy are??? Thanks...
Great little neck knives
totally
Now that's a "FOoKING Choppa" ..... Nice job..
thanks mate
*wow great my friend*
Wath do You thing to made a Karambit with 12 mm?
Do you sell knives I've just came across your channel and just subscribed ,I would love to own one of your thick kiri style machetes ,great work sir ,I'm just gonna check out more of your vids now 👍👍
Man, these are some amazing beasts
How high a grit you go on the grinder before and sanding?
depends usually 240g
Just insane!
really cool man
The epic music added to the wow factor! Fuck that is a mean bit of kit, love the handle scales and double pluggers
Awesome!
thanks man
did you quench these? I'm asking because I am currently working on a thick long knife out of D7 tool steel.About a quarter the thickness of your Kukris. I've read the heat treating info for the steel, but I haven't put it in the forge. Only cut and belt ground out the profile. I really want to finish this knife, but I really don't want to ruin the metal if it's already tough enough.
Great job 🍻
thank you
Very hardworking
Nice axe oh I mean khukri;)
Khukris are an odd looking knife when you first see one, as a westerner I know I felt they looked awkward but once I had the chance to use one, happy days they're really practical.
Very bad ass .great job
Are they for sale and if so are they still available, they look fantastic.
muito top top top top top top top!!! parabéns cara!
Nice knife...
Great job,.. Why not make a 5 chira ang khola khukuri in same thickness?
Wow... a pair of serious Gurkha battle axes! These blades...
Awesome and very Solid khukhari sir jee but I can't understand you not heated the blade to make good khukhari
wow that's a cool hammer u made.
Dang boi you can butter some thick toast with that one ☝️ 👶🏿💨😹❤️👻
12mm is .472 inches, so ya half an inch. With most cutting/ edged tools maxing out at 1/4 inch, I'd say "it's about time" !!! The Kukri being arguably the best one knife option (come on? Top 2 then), I'm extremely excited to see what you come up with. The industry standard is somewhere around a 12 inch blade, so with the extra girth I'd like to see 16 inches of blade (I'll settle for 14 inches). Do your best, I'm sure you won't disappoint.
Very nice knife, but that belt sander is AWESOME!
I was looking at Himalayan Imports' site and it looks like 12mm/ 1/2 inch is traditional for thickness. Great vid and build!
Rodrigo Teresa Although done in traditional way, Himalayan Imports are marketed towards western clients and are not a good representation of traditional khukuris. The traditional thickness is 6mm to 8mm. Check out Kailashblades. They do excellent work and are truer to what a traditional khukuri should be. They also temper their blades so the steel is much tougher.
Noticed your bandsaw walk or twist when you were cutting out those handle scales, that happens to me sometimes, if you want to fix it sometimes going slower and lowering the guard to just a few mm above the material can help alot to keep your saw straight. However, great video i admired watching you move that much steel 😂😂
Where do you find bar stock that is 1/2” (12.5mm) thick?
I need a 4ft x 1.5” long piece that is that thickness. Also what grade of steel is this? 1070? 1095?
That is a hell of a Tool .....
That is an insane amount of stock removal.....
Those blades are almost begging for at least two more inches of blade and a bit more belly!
Very nice blade mate do you sell them?
so good
thanks
Too train for combat use of this weapon, swing cinder block back in forth
CAN U MAKE ME ONE AND HOW MUCH!
belo trabalho amigo !
I love it you have made a beautiful knife that I my favorite knife I wanted to buy it
Great work man!! Any of those for sale lol???
the first song is the most tasteful montage music ive herd in a while
Song Name?
Hey mate, these look great for sure. You might have mentioned it in the video but I haven't had time to watch it yet, did you consider tapering the tang ? I'm sure it would look great on this thick handle and would looks pretty nice.
I figure if I'm going to go with a 12mm thick blade I might as well show it off
hahaha
Pretty sure that "...I was taking the piss with the thickness..." statement in the video explained why he didn't :o)
Ok, I must have skipped past that, thanks !
What is sub 9 tool steel? And where do you get stock that thick? Thanks
sup9 is approx 5160
How many belts did you get through ???
too many
Kudo's. I would want one.
Thats not a knife, THIS is a knife..... also doubles down as a club.
+1 for crocodile dundee reference
Top show 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
COOL!
And other people say 8mm is thick
Is there any downside to using thick steel besides the long working time
Also is the sharpness affected in any way I've heard that it is
From what I know long as you sharpen and bevel the knife right it'll be sharp as hell
How long did the bevel grinding take? Those kukris would be fantastic for chopping anything into millions of pieces.
it took about a day to do all 3
1 didn't get filmed
i have a few original khukri and thats usually how thick they are
red88ization i do not think so
Bullshit
Damn bro, Great job!!! Question- who made you mad?!
Those are monsters Dom! Hehe
thanks man
the first song is so cool, may i know what song is that? cool knife anyway!!!
dunno dude. sorry. its some song I got off a random royalty free website ages ago. I can't for the life of me remember
christ i hope i never see you in a dark alleyway, awesome knife man
hahaha thanks mate
If you sold one how much would you want for it
Damn they are thick. You must have gone through a lot of belts grinding them into shape.
yet it killed a few 36g belts
nice!
Thanks!
You can point that shit to a tree branch and command it to chop itself.
oh for sure. The thing chops everything you put in front of (or point at) it
How many belts did you go through in making these monsters? At least you wouldn't need to make knife plates to finish the handles using stock of this thickness.(12 mm. is almost stupidly thick for the average knife)
Red vs. Blue I got your Halo reference.
i like this blade sir, how much this one sir?
Chunkri
lol that is epic. I might use that one day.
Harkulade bir bıçak olmuş birader eline sağlık... Mâşâallah! ☪️
Wow!!! I wouldn't cerokote, they're massively evil/cool just the way they are!!!
6:47 plz make a video on that jig!!
When did you heat treat these?
