    This is a traditional Tamil Brahmin recipe originating in Thanjavur district of Tamil Nadu. In this video I have provided step-by-step instruction to make this traditional and authentic dish known as Pitlai. The vegetable used to make this dish is Bitter Gourd. We all know the medicinal properties of Bitter Gourd especially its role in regulating and reducing blood glucose levels and is a boon to diabetics. I have shown how to remove bitterness of the gourd. I have added urad dal Bondas to enhance the flavour.
