Cop Pulls Over Top-Ranking Officer for Speeding

- A Georgia police officer recently pulled over "a souped-up Dodge Charger" going nearly 100 mph, only to discover the county sheriff's chief deputy behind the wheel, according to bodycam footage of the incident. "Really?" says the officer as he approaches the vehicle driven by Henry County Chief Deputy Michael Yarbrough. A uniformed deputy is seen in the passenger seat. Inside Edition Digital has more.
Full credit to him for not objecting, not asserting authority to try and avoid, and for informing his boss. This guy has integrity.
I wonder if he legitimately respects the checks on his power, or if he just knew better than to pull rank on camera.
How does he have integrity when he is going 60 mph over the speed limit, 96 in a 35? Thats a residential zone speed. 100 on the highway fine but 100 in residential areas is insanely stupid. He has 0 integrity. The only reason he didnt say anything is because he screwed up so bad there wasnt a chance of talking out of it
Doing something illegal…
Or...an eye to know where the body cam is

I agree, he just took the ticket and reported it to his Superior. And really NBD. If he had made a fool of himself and carried on, just make a simple speeding ticket into something much worse. But that sounded pretty excessive, maybe reckless driving.
Certainly better than the cop driving his take-home that got pulled over by a deputy in Florida.

I’m 22 years old but I’m a new driver (from Florida). I do my best to follow the road laws and I get really anxious/ annoyed when others on the road don’t do the same. The amount of times I’ve seen officers do the absolute dumbest things out of impatience and ego is astounding to me. The other day I saw an officer put on his siren to pass the red light and proceeded at normal speed because he just didn’t want to wait in traffic. Last week I saw two cops bypass traffic on a one lane road so they didn’t have to wait. It was ridiculous
Just be careful when getting upset with them for running lights to get through red lights but then turning them off. I don't believe they always go to calls with lights and sirens they could still have needed to get to a call fast but didn't need to run them the whole way there. I'm not positive about that but I don't think it's always just to get through a light for no reason.

@hgfjhfgify keep living your life in hypotheticals 🤷♂️ doesn't benefit anyone. Goodluck to you
It’s pretty sad that that is a rare thing nowadays.
“You know I don’t care for him, Imma write him.” 😂 He deserved a ticket regardless, but the personal aspect was hilarious. Good work sir 👌🏻
😅. That was my favorite part. However I hope that he would have done the same no matter who it was.
When he gets back to the office he’s gonna waive those tickets
The fact that he didn't kick off and cooperated is probably the reason why he still has that job.
Much respect for both here. In this video the accused officer does not pull the "do you know who I am card". Kudos to the deputy for citing him as well
Respect to both parties for exemplary conduct during the interaction
😂
In the future he’ll keep it down to just 92 mph.
0:20 did he jus say “i jus clocked this n____” ???? 😂😂😂
At least he accepted his mistake and took it like a man instead of fighting and looking foolish.
He thought he was above the law
You don't know that as a fact, that's more of a opinion, what is a fact that the Chief admits his mistake and doesn't try to abuse his power to not get the ticket.
Doesn't seem like it. If he did, he'd say something like 'hey, i'm a chief. Shoo off.'
@@brizzled5193
He was going 90 in a 30+ lane, That's not accidental
@@brizzled5193 since cops understand and study law more than your layman, isn’t it reasonable to assume, he didn’t give a f*ck and thought he could get away with it?
No he didn't anymore than anyone else that's speeding. He didn't start that "you know who I am" line.
The deputy in the passenger seat looked straight into the body camera like “thank god y’all stopped him.”
Both respectful. Fantastic.
Props to both. While its sad what led to the encounter, both showed exactly how the situation’s should be handled
Kudos to the officer for protecting and serving his community by pulling over the officer and giving him a citation. I commend both officers for being professional in this situation it could have been much worse.I’ve seen other videos where officers try using their authority and bullying the other officer.
Massive props both, but especially to the Cheif deputy for calmly accepting the ticket and reporting it to his sheriff instead of trying to use his position to weasel out of the ticket like so many others I've seen or threaten the lower ranking cop. That's a reasonable, grounded officer right there. 👍
he was nearing 100 in a 35. If it were us we'd (rightly) lose our right to drive at best lol
Nope, they got rid of the ticket after the fact. "Channel 2 Action News obtained body camera footage of the traffic stop and a citation report that shows only a warning issued to Chief Deputy Michael Yarbrough." It's easy to pretend to be calm and accept responsibility when you know you don't ever ACTUALLY have to accept responsibility. His "punishment" was a three day vacation.
@Sotira_Salad But your a nobody, this guy protects the public.
@@starfireprincessdoesn't look like he's protecting the public, in fact, he's endangering the public by speeding
@athormaximoff4634 The cop probably helped alot of people, but because he drove fast he's being judged.
THANK YOU HONEST MAN
He was really frustrated, but still kept his composure
THAT IS PUBLIC ENDANGERMENT! ANYONE ELSE WOULD HAVE BEEN TAKEN TO JAIL!
Car impounded too!!
I didn't know that thought you lost your driver's license for a year or something and paid a big fine.
Only if the police deems it so. Speeding in a zone with kids will get you jail time. Speeding in a low-speed zone without kids, will get you a ticket.
@@annabedford9608 Depends the state and the cop you're dealing with.
@@markus9641Going that fast is wreckless driving not just a minor infraction
Honestly, props to the guy for taking the ticket.
that's what is expected of the rest of us. But props for not being corrupt is the bar we set for LE in this country I guess.
Props to a guy doing 96 in a 35? He should’ve been arrested and license revoked
@@davidmakai8508thank you for understanding this fact. Everyone else seems to be supporting this cop when all he did was the bare minimum. Why do Americans have such low standards for cops?
What's worst than a snitch?
Cops writing up other cops 😂😂😂😂😂
The passengers cop laughing at him is the highlight of the video to me😂
didn’t think i would see this today or any day infact
Respect to both for handling the situation right
Full respect for the cop who got pulled over. He didn't try to talk his way out of it, no excuses given, no "I'm above the law attitude. He complied with his fellow officer's orders and showed him the respect law enforcement officers deserve.
The looks on their faces is absolutely comical
