gigglesvideo EA added a LOT of microtransactions into the new Star Wars Battlefront, which is already an expensive paid game to begin with. Even beyond stupid broken stuff like unlocking weapons and increasing your stats, that includes one of the basic features of all the Battlefront games: occasionally in a match, the people highest on the scoreboard get to play as named characters from the movies, with all the OP force powers and stuff that they have. So all of a sudden if you want to play Luke in a Star Wars game, which you already paid for, you either pay extra money or unlock it by playing for like 40 hours. People got mad, EA answered a reddit post saying "we hear you, we're gonna be "nice" by lowering the cost of the unlocks" (while sneakily lowering the rewards you could earn to unlock them btw, lol) and it's now the most downvoted comment in reddit history That's why "can't I pay for stronger units" part, while probably unintentional, comes out sounding like a burn against EA

This a direct jab at EA's recent PR disaster with Battleground II. It's amazing that Blizzard came up with an excellent ad like this so fast, literally only a matter of days.
