this was a really, really funny video and a great look into the game. the jokes about "borrowing" the game and cheesy trap literally genuinely made me howl with laughter. though i do wanna say, if you're interested in a PC version of the game and mod support, Mad Box Dead is a really impressive fanmade project for PC that was made to be modded. It's not as visually impressive and it's pretty basic, but for a fan project in its early stages of development it's really cool! i don't think it gets enough love for what it is.
The biggest flaw with the game imo. is the sliding, cause it puts you into this weird special state that alters what you can do and makes you move at a constant set speed, which can be really irritating. I can see why they did it, they probably wanted to create these short more linear sections more akin to more classic rhythms games, but it just doesn't work. While I agree that all the falling objects that blindside you are really annoying, I kinda think what they wanted to do there was give players reasons to use the Rewind Time feature in order to familiarize themself with the levels and eventually master them (it is very clumsily done, but I see the idea). Personally I went out of my way to S rank all the levels on hard mode and it is insane how hard the final boss is compared to the rest of the game, especially the platforming sections, which mainly just comes from the fact that Mad Rat, Die is such an annoying song. For some of the later levels you really just have to go and learn the songs by heart in the jukebox/training mode(I still find myself subconsciously tapping the hardmode version of Emmental Catalepsy with my fingers sometimes). Really good game all things considered, hope they revisit the concept again in the future.

Real late to the party but mad rat dead rap despite its “explaining what the game is” lyrics was made for fun as the tophamhatkyo is actually in a band with dyes iwasaki (rep fake type or i die) Iirc the rap only got into the game bcs dyes pestered the devs into putting it in since he liked it so much 😭😭
The fact that you "borrowed" the game means that you most likely don't know that it is sold for 40$. I hope it didn't make the game worse in your eyes. Anyway, I really enjoy your content, so thanks for making it.
i was aware the game was 40$, but honestly the price of a game doesn't really affect my opinion of it. like for example, i wouldn't leave a negative steam review on a game that i enjoyed, for which i paid 20$, just because i don't see that being the valid price. and thank you very much!
fun fact: harrazel only knows about mad rat dead because one day I stumbled upon the entire soundtrack not knowing what the game was. I saw whatever rat god was in the thumbnail and thought "i bet thats good music the thumbnail is cute", got hooked, looked into the game, and then after a discord stream here we are now.

Love this game so much i did videos on doing full combos for all the songs! Its so good! Still playing it to this day!
