- As a papercraft model maker I enjoyed the presentation of Tesla's new Cybertruck. The low poly design looks like it just walked out straight of my working desk! That's why I just had to make a template of this unique car. I have never made a car or anything like that so that was fairly new to me. Usually I make animal sculptures. This paper Tesla Cybertruck is relative easy to make. The difficulties come when making the bumpers ( very small faces ) and the wheels ( need some improvisation and experience).
The template is temporarily for free so get it right here! :)

Very very cool! Your model demonstrates both your skill and how "relatively easy" Cybertruck will be to manufacture compared to conventional vehicles. I am looking forward to the template!
Hi Bruce! really happy with that compliment :D and yes i think it would be much easier to manufacture compared with regular cars but... keeps me wondering how they would be able to fold and cut sheets of that enormous size! :P Template is now there!
@@diydesigner5766 I understand they will use sheets of stainless steel scored for areas that need to be bent at an angle. Once scored they will use cutting tools or lasers to create the individual pieces. It won't fold like your model but the scored areas will be bent. Then the separate pieces will be welded together with upright supports to create the exoskeleton. What they won't need are the big presses and dies they use to create the body panels for the S, X and 3. Thank you for the template!
@@brucepmiller Thanks for your reply and technical explanation 😎 I'm looking forward for the Cybertruck ‘ How it’s Made’ episode :P Would be great to see that process and machines!
@@diydesigner5766 Easily done with a large CO2 laser table and 6 axis CNC press brake. We have cutting tables at work that cut sheets far larger than anything the Cybertruck will use.
@@diydesigner5766 can i print at store or no
What a Design!!! By far the best DIY Cybertruck Model!!!
Loving the design of the Cybertruck even more. Very easy on the eyes.
Oh by the way, you made a perfect model of it.
Thank you Paul!!
Wow! Nicely done! Who in their right mind would give you an “unlike” for this!
The only thing that is easy than other curved cars ore the cybertruck
Literally the easiest paper craft car ever
Absolutely a jewel! Amazing design and workmanship! Thanks for the template.
I was going to try a small version of this out of thin sheet aluminum to attach to the "frame" of a die-cast Matchbox style pick-up.
Thanks so much for posting the template!
This is the best build I have ever seen... I watched every minute twice... Ok four times.. I ordered the real one, now I want to build your version... Great build!
Dennis Sawyer woooow! So cool you ordered one! :-) now you can at least enjoy a pocket cybertruck until the day hè arrives ! :-) enjoy!
Thank you... Keep up the good work. And I have subscribed.
Great looking build, so clean! One can tell it was made by a pro.
Thank you BlackTalon! I have ‘some’ experience with this :P Template is ready! see description :)
Thank you very much for the pdf file. You are a genius to have figured this out - and your skills are amazing !!! I'm almost done with my build. Just have to add the wheels to the body. I learned I cannot cut a circle out with a scissor !!! I think the hardest part for me was the trim rings for the wheels. Would it be okay to post a pic of my completed paper Cybertruck model on the Tesla forums ? Thank you again for this very enjoyable build !!
Hi Jason! Glad you like it and so cool you already started building the cybertruck!I know, the trim rings are really a pain but had to come up with some way to cover up the not always so pretty edges of the wheels. Maybe you can cut the inner circle with a sharp knife first and then use the scissor to cur the outer edge? that would work! :) Sharing would be cool! But extra cool if you could link to the video or credit in some way :)
@@diydesigner5766 Hello - I think the problem I was having, was that it was difficult for me to see the lines on the black card stock I was using (most likely due to the lighting). On white paper, I didn't have a problem cutting the trim rings with a scissor. I did cut out the trims rings on the black card stock using a scalpel...Thanks again for pdf file - It was a great way to spend time on a cold and rainy weekend !!
now you see how cool the truck look.
Nice I will Also try this
Perfect. Just missing some cracked windows and the metal sphere embedded for more realism.
working on it :D
might be using this as a template on styrene to build a more "durable" version for a rc crawler
Same here
When the paper model has better panel gaps than reality...
🤣😂🤣👍🏼
Great work...
thank you Yusuf!
Totul a mers perfect, rezultatul foarte satisfacator! Thank u!
This model is amazing! Looks like an exact replica of the real one! But what is the scale of this model compared to the real one?
Thank You for posting the PDF. Great work
you are welcome! )
ALMOST same appearance with the ones that i made when i am 13-14 years old, the difference is yours is much better detailed but mine have headlights with on-off switches and four cocacola cap wheels with four dc magnet motors. Good old free childhood days...But the cars can not go since i can not afford a 9V cell when i am just a child and i lack some patience so there are too many 1,5v batteries inside them. BTW GREAT WORK, GRATS, i admired the detailed work.
You turned out very beautifully, I liked you well done!
That's exactly what i was looking for. Thanks !
Sogne Stephane Thank you sogne!!
that "car" looks like COFFIN ON THE WHEELS!
?
??
????
Thank you for sharing! I am making my mini cyber truck pink! 😁
Hello just wondering what the hell is paper stock. I have never heard of it before? plz help cheers!
cool car, thanks for tutorias diy designer
Very nice! Thanks for putting this together.
Wondering what type, strength and colours of paper you have used? The one on the windows and roof seems to be changing colours. Wonderful build. Thanks for the template. Appreciate the hard word. 👍👌💪
Do you have a link for the paper you used?
can you list all of the colors of the papers you used
What is the silver material you printed on? Cardboard???
Hey @DIY Designer, I love this one, gonna def do it! Are those sheets normal printing paper? I mean they seem thicker than classic printing paper...
Hello! :) Thanks! This is stronger paper indeed, it’s paper stock/cardstock from the art&crafts store with a paperweight of 160grams. The silver is even a little bit heavier :) It’s sometimes difficult to print on but much better for your final result :)
@@diydesigner5766 Thanks sooo much!!!
I’m going to use this to attach it to my RC truck
Streamersnipuh BTW cool!!
how did you make this template?
did you make it with 3D modeling first or draw yourself?
Wooo!! I am really impressed...You are intelligent. Can you please make a Benz model.. Plssss... It will be exciting to watch.
Wow, very nicely done.
Rudi Larno Thanks Rudi! :-)))
Tquuuuuu so much the free print pdf very help me thanksss alot i use for my project school 🙏🙏🙏
Hello my friend.I want to ask you something. I want to produce videos like you.May i use your documents in my video?
Of course i will add your channel link below my video. If you want.
I was thinking can a sheet of metal can work with this?
yes but than you will need to be able to weld also
Which paper have you used to make it..?
Wow its so easy
Amazing! Awesome job!
What type of paper are you using for this diy?
What are the number unit used in the templates. I want to make one
I always know when I see a Chinese persons hands and dexterity.
Great skills!
Fearless Walker 🤣🤣🤣 whoehaha! Okay a little bit Asian but not Chinese 😂 Well guessed tho!😂
@@diydesigner5766 🤪 ✌️😄👍
this is amazing! thanks a lot for sharing!
Nice work! Where did you get the dimensions for the windows, fenders, bumpers, etc? Did you just calculate them yourself?
I just improvised a bit with the pictures that where available at that time :-)
What kind of paper did you use?
Very great! can you inform me what scale is it
thanks! not sure what scale.. length was about 26 cm if I'm correct
How many GSM paper are you using
Great Job,.nice, Very Nice
Why aren't the fenders black?
I liked it better but you can print them black off course :-)
every time i see a model of it it looks oversimplified but that's just how the fricking car looks XD
trust me, everyone will get used to it. No joking, imo the design is so futuristic that not many people understand it yet.
How long does this take?
Sooooo..... why is Tesla not sending Cybertruck reservation holders little paper kits like this while we wait???
i wish! :D
Which paper do you use for the windows?
What scale is this?
Can I pls get the paper name or the paper link
Hello! First off what an awesome build, well done! But unfortunately the Dropbox link won't work for me, it goes to the download but then only shows half of the template and it won't even print that, showing a blank page on the preview, do you have a media fire link or something that might work better? Many thanks.
Thank you! have you tried another browser perhaps? Haven't heard anyone else about download problems :-)
Thanks! I actually tried it on another iPad soon after I left that comment and it worked, so I have made it.
WOW, I would like to do this on my RC Xmaxx BODY. Do you have a templete for 1:5 scale BODY only for RC? Thanks
I also made a video with this template on a rc car. You can scale the template ofcourse
THIS CRAZY GOOD you got good skills
i cant do the bumpers you never explained how to
Can i use thick chart paper instead
as long as you can print on it and fold it nicely yes
Can iHave these cutting marks and scheme
I tried it and it ended up bad. What type of paper is this.
its heavier paper, paper stock/cardstock from your local art and crafts store :)
@@diydesigner5766 Thanks a lot. Nice work.
what are the width and length dimmensions? (in cm please) :DDD
26cm long
about 11,5cm width
@@der_cumsportler1022 thanks a lot 🙏
What is your website!?
template is ready! Check the video description :)
Is there a template link?
Hey love the video I'm gonna make a video on it soon on my new channel and I will mention you. Thank you soo much for making a fun easy template.
you are very welcome!
Can i get car template
'
impressive.. thanks for sharing.. may i know the scale of the build? or the dimension of the car? aim to build one with 1:25 scale..
i believe the scale was 1:22 not sure . Length is about 26,5cm
Very nice looking paper model! I just downloaded the PDF and I hope to get folding within the next couple of days. Do you happen to know what scale it is?
Benjamin Nead thats Great to hear! :-)) the measurements are roughly: 27cm x 13cm x 9,5cm :-)
The full scale Cybertruck is 231.7 inches long, or 588.5cm. Divide this by 22 to get 26.75cm. So, ~1/22 scale.
Also, your PDF is authored for A4 paper . U.S. users will be using printers set for slightly smaller 8.5" X 11" letter-sized paper. Using my printer software's variable setting (ie: "'scale to fit", etc.) on an A4 document yields a letter-sized printout that's very close to 1/24 or 1/25 scale, which is an industry standard for scale car models. Marvelous!
Once again, thanks for doing this. It would have taken me weeks of importing photos and drawing over them with Adobe Illustrator to come up with anything this detailed.
@@benjaminnead8557 Hi Benjamin i also got it on US Letter now! :) I added that printing size just yesterday. Had too scale the design a little bit tho. Okay 1/22, thanks good to know! :) And glad the template saved you some time. I made the design in google sketchup and the wheel parts in illustrator :) Looking forward to see your build!
@@diydesigner5766 I have provided a link to your RUclips video onto the comments section of an article on the CleanTechnica blog. They're Tesla-crazy over there and the article in question shows various Cybertruck models (Lego and - yes, seriously - sculpted mashed potatoes.) Hopefully, you'll get more exposure from this.

Can I just use regular printer paper and scissors
Jonah Khalifa possible but the final result will be most likely to be dented and not Looking Very clean. I would advise to Check If you have Paper of any weight like 160gr or photopaper for your printer

Sounds very cool! glad I could help :)
Skeptical Caveman I was actually about to do the same with some sheet metal. The rim looks like I will have some trouble manufacturing but it’s worth a try.
This is cool and all but I don’t have the materials
Max Millan simple materials you can find in a lot of shops :-)
This looks fantastic!! Wonderful work, man. May I ask what materials you used? The glue and tools specifically. Thanks so much! 😊
thanks! I used strong paper sheets (180grms+), sharp knife and scoring tool :)
DIY Designer thank you! What kind of glue did you use?
Can I buy the blueprints?
it’s free :D
