    Hi! I'm a new subscriber and I accidentally fell into the e-ink space when I saw a friend's reMarkable 2 and was so interested by the concept. I wanted to thank you for these incredible in-depth reviews. Because of this particular series on Supernote A5X I ordered myself one yesterday! I feel like I watched a zillion videos about it, but yours was by far the most detailed and instructional. From your other reviews on Boox, reMarkable, Papyr, Kobo, and the rest, I feel like I made the best choice for me with Supernote. I definitely could not have made such an educated decision without your help! Keep up the good work!😀

    Great job as usually! I really consider buying the device after your review. Just one note - there's one chapter missing in the video description, at 24:00 you talk about pens, however, there's no link to that part under the video :).

    Excellent detailed review. I’m currently wavering between the reMarkable 2 and this because of the price aspect and just the full capability the two devices excel in.

      I have the remarkable and their customer service is trash. Its screen went unresponsive and customer service denied my request to have it fixed/replaced after normal wear and tear. Only had it for a year, loved it, but it did not last.

    I am a bit disappointed that the lamy pen has a tip that you have to replace over time. It was my first choice because of the eraser buttons. And now I will switch to the heart of metal pen since that has a ceramic tip even if the eraser button is missing. I just want to buy things once and do not replace anything and keep my head around that stuff.

    • @lupercali3951

    Man, thank you so much for making these. I am on a fence between this and the Boox Note Air/Note 3. One of the things I was worried about was that this does not have the split screen feature, but 31:50 basically covers my needs and is a one less negative point for Supernote in my book.

    • @shakotlokman
      @shakotlokman 2 года назад

      Me too! The split screen was a big reason why I was leaning towards the note air. what did you end up going with?

    • @martinh.5193
      @martinh.5193 2 года назад

      @@shakotlokman the Note Air actually. There were 2 reasons, one very subjective and one objective. The subjective one was, that the local distributors that I trust were only offering Xboox, which is huge in my opinion because it just makes solving any problems so much faster and comfortable and these devices aren't exactly cheap so I don't really want to send them across half of the globe just for warranty repair. The objective reason was that Xboox just had more features and frequent updates. Hope this helps.

    Can you do a review of the green/blue guitar that's hanging on the right side? Can't guess the brand, it has a fenderish headstock but kind of a godin/music man body. Looks cool though ;) and btw: thanks for these great reviews!!!

    • @MyDeepGuide
      @MyDeepGuide  3 года назад +4

      That is a handmade / hybrid :) My father and I made the body, some 23 years ago and then it just stayed in storage for many years. A couple of years ago, i decided to finish it. So I found a nice neck on eBay, picked the types of pickups I wanted for it, set it all up, and now it's almost finished :) It needs a bit more work and fine tuning until it's finished, but once it is, I just might do a video about it :) Thank you for asking and showing interest :)

    • @feelingguitars
      @feelingguitars 3 года назад +2

      Very nice, what a good story! So that's the reason why the headstock looks like a fender but the body doesn't ;)

    The good thing about Boox being android based is that you can install third party apps to manage gestures so you can replicate what you have there with switching between previously apps (basically making use of the multi tasking task manager in the boox case) with a simple swipe from the sides. Edge gestures app for example.

    Voja. Not sure if you've done this before but could you demo sounds of a couple of different normal pens on paper? Know you can't test every pen and all types of paper but I'm wondering if it would give an idea of how it compares with a digital pen using the microphone close to the pen.

  • @annvoy7698
    @annvoy7698 3 года назад +2

    Wow, I love the user interface and particularly the keywords and title organisation! As you're saying the Boox Android platform feels like jumping from app to app or folder to folder, which does stop my workflow as a student a little bit too often. I also battle with the floating bars particularly in split screen between pdf and note on the Note Air. The Supernote is like the reMarkable should have been; no disruptions, minimalistic workflow but very efficient. I'm so tempted to try out the A5X, but I know I would miss the 'want' aspect that Boox provide. Voja, would you say that the A5X is snappier than the Note Air in terms of gestures as that one doesn't always register a tab here or there I find? In addition handwriting on pdfs is occasionally awful. Thank you for your work.

    • @annvoy7698
      @annvoy7698 3 года назад

      One more question if I may: the circumference of the three pens: the basic pen is the slimmest, right? Is the Hard of Metal still slimmer than the Lamy? Lamy is simply too thick for me.

    • @MyDeepGuide
      @MyDeepGuide  3 года назад +2

      Yes, standard pen is the slimmest, then goes heart of metal and then Lamy. Weight also seems to be ( I haven't weighed then, it's just how it feels in the hand) Standard heaviest, heart of metal lighter, Lamy lightest.

    Forgive my confusion, but several times during this three-video series you mention that you won't get into full details on a feature or function because you will or already have in another video series. I'm not finding that "other" guide series in your video library.

      No, the Supernote has an entirely unique and it's own writing surface and feel, and no, it has no resemblance to writing on paper. It's more like writing using a gel pen.

    Currently own a boox note air 2, but looking for something else. Question, does the A5x feel cheap in the hand? Does it flex at all? Hoping it feels solid. One of the things keeping me from buying one.

    • @MyDeepGuide
      @MyDeepGuide  Год назад +1

      What you asking about is a highly subjective thing, however, objectively it doesn't feel cheap in the hand, but yes, there is some small flex as it is completely made out of plastic, so if that's not what you're looking for and is an important aspect of your consideration, then you should keep that in mind.

      @@MyDeepGuide Thank you. I'm not sure I suppose. The A5x appears to check all other boxes, a (outlook/Google connected) calendar system, A UI that seems to make sense to me, and more. @@MyDeepGuide Just a brief update. I purchased and have received the Supernote a5x. It is fabulous. It feels every bit as solid as the Boox or Remarkable to me and has a layout that is much simpler and cleaner. The only suedo-negative would be that while the cover is nice as well as functional, it's not as rigid as I'd like. Completely satisfied though with the a5x so far!

    • @MyDeepGuide
      @MyDeepGuide  3 года назад

      A5X doesn't have a web browser, Note Air is a complete overkill to use as a web browsing machine. Get something cheaper and smaller if all you want to do is browse the web.

      @@MyDeepGuide overkill? I don't understand? Isn't the browsing underwhelming on eink? I'm not *just* using it for browsing.
