But now I present my own proposed series finale of the show MERLIN in 4 last episodes: TRAP - Morgana and Mordred finally succeed in exposing Merlin's longtime secret to Arthur, Gwen and all of Camelot with dark magical assistance from a newly resurrected old enemy of the young warlock: Nimue. TRIAL - Merlin and Gaius face harsh judgment from Arthur who must decide whether to execute them or condemn both to permanent exile away from Camelot. TURMOIL - Camelot is bitterly divided between those who support the ban on magic and those who seek to abolish it. Mordred and Morgana attack a vulnerable Camelot. Arthur is captured and tortured but Gwen escapes to search for Merlin and Gaius. TRANSITION - Merlin returns and saves Arthur. But Gaius is killed by Mordred who escapes to become the official leader of the outlaw rebel forces against Camelot. Morgana is defeated and dies physically but casts a magic spell transforming herself into an ethereal demi goddess. King Arthur and Queen Gwen are restored to their thrones and reign over a New Camelot where magic is accepted and embraced. Most importantly, Merlin finally becomes the recognized, respected and renowned wizard, protecter and royal adviser of the kingdom. THE END.
Gwen with an authoritative voice : Arthur, my boy, is everything alright? You seem distracted. Arthur: I am sorry mother. And he scrams. The decisive scene (S2E13) where Merlin tamed the great dragon, and by doing so, became the last dragon lord, is missing. What a pity !
