And the taste is iron-ish and only slightly salty. I visit those springs every year I go skiing and bring home a couple of bottles to share with family and friends.

Here in the EU you can drink tap water in most places. I am from Iceland and live in norway. So in Iceland all tap water is good and in Norway if you are on a mountain you can drink the water that is running down the mountain and it's fucking good when cold ( and it's really clean)

I'm native american from the San Carlos Apache tribe and on our rez we have a few fresh water springs that are taken very good care of. The spring is blessed by medicine men (our holy men) and is used by everyone in the tribe. Its up in the mountains and the whole tribe respects it and helps to maintain it whenever we take from it. The water is by far the best tasting water I've ever had in my entire life and is good to drink straight out of the spring tap without having to boil or purify in any way. The reason it sounds so crazy to you guys is because its not common to see wildlife being treated with that high of standards. All Native tribes understand the importance of taking care of mother earth and preserving what ever fresh water sources we still have left

I don't get the big deal, when we went camping when I was younger we used to get water from natural springs to drink. The springs were tested by the government to make sure they were safe.
My mom , when she was pregnant with my little brother, was CONVINCED that something was wrong with Florida well water. (I was born with four fingers and born in West Palm) so she would boil the water from the sink, freeze it in a big pitcher. And then she’d drink from it after it melted.
