    It really sounds great! Thanks for the fly over here! Seems a little limited what you can do in 512sample mode, but that might evolve. I still don't fully grasp the difference between a "bed track" and an "object track". That seems to be very important at the core of this..

    Yeah decided to not use Atmos as I personally don’t like the results that I have heard. I don’t think it’s good for music, so won’t be mixing for that format and although I may risk losing clients I shall be advising them of this decision. Your video is as always very informative.

    Thanks - but if this was the easy to digest presentation then I’m gonna be needing a lot of indigestion medication!
    I’ll require my hand holding at a more basic starting point than this video commenced with - wasn’t even sure that I was looking at the Studio One console view initially and I’ve been a user since version 1. Now I need to take something for a headache as well, I’ll try to wrap my head around the Atmos variation but I might just be too long in the tooth to cope.

      I concur... Seems like the outputs didn't show up in on my end as they did in the tutorial but in the end I got silence.. then glitching when aborting the atmos setup. please don't tell me i need a new rig to accommodate the bells and whistles of immersive surround mixing. I think I need the average joe's setup tutorial not the big studio tutorial on this one. Thanks anyhow.

    Easily the best overview of this. I've been keeping myself on 5.5 but am very interested in this upgrade - one thing I'd like to know is how the Renderer's HP output channel handles something like Slate VSX or similar room software? I've been making great use of that for about a year now and wouldn't wanna leave it for my stereo HP monitoring.

    • @MaximusWhyman
      @MaximusWhyman 9 месяцев назад

      I use VSX on the headphones out channel and it works the same as in stereo.

    • @Anoridan
      @Anoridan 8 месяцев назад

      It won't work with it. Or rather, it technically will, but it'd be nonsence to use it like that. If you're mixing on VSX, you're essentially mixing in stereo setup in a room that Slate made for you. Binaural mode here is for headphones, and you're on Slate speaker-in-a-room setup. That said, you're still technically in stereo, so you will be able to apply VSX to this ATMOS binauralization, but you'll end up with something stupid because you'll apply HRTF over HRTF. It's not supposed to work, just as you are not supposed to put this ATMOS into binaural mode and then mix on speakers. Either just use VSX and mix in stereo or mix in surround and without VSX. The only solution is to wait for when Slate will roll out their surround update for them. They technically can do it, but it's a matter of quality. As you can hear in this video, the ATMOS binauralisation is subtle and isn't really obvious to untrained ear.

    So after months of testing, reading articles and so on, I can confirm Studio One still has serious midi jitter issues. What you play is not really what is being recorded.I've run many tests, with other audio interfaces, DAWs, computers, equipment, versions of Studio One. I have even done some clean windows installations, but nothing seems to fix it, so I can only say that Studio One is at fault.
    I have played drums and piano parts, arps and sequencer and the Atom, but no matter what you do, the MIDI notes ALWAYS have MIDI jitter. Some notes are recorded perfectly (a few of them actually), some ohters have midi jitter, placed here and there in a confusing way.I have gone through many tests with collaborators, even programmers and technicians (we even changed settings in the BIOS, system drivers..) but we were not able to fix it for good. There is no solution to this problem. Presonus Studio is a CRAPPY Midi DAW, terrible.

      That’s interesting, I love S1 midi. I’d contact support if I were you. They are very helpful.

    • @verifiedcustomerid8046

      @@carstenaltena Me too, I think it's a great DAW, but the MIDI always loses notes, they never fixed it since I bought the 1.0 version, any other DAW puts the MIDI in sync perfectly, S1 does not.

    • @DanaVastman
      @DanaVastman 10 месяцев назад

      Wow! Such anger over nothing. If you don't like it, don't use it. Personally, I think it's amazing! Apple seems to feel this way also as they are no longer accepting just stereo mixes... They are requiring atmos

    • @officialWWM
      @officialWWM 10 месяцев назад +1

      @@DanaVastman and THAT is the issue! Do you have a studio with 11 speakers in it, cause I don’t! If you can’t see that this is just a way for big business to claim back control of the music industry and cut out home producers, I don’t know what to tell you!

    • @frankymino8773
      @frankymino8773 Месяц назад

      I'm with you on that. We are not angry. We are just stating the obvious. There always has to be one hey ;-) It's not mandatory to have your songs in atmos in order to upload them. Stereo is just fine. It's never been officially announced that you must have songs in atmos. Even if it does become mandatory then just open your song project and transfer it to an atmos session then render and format the master to DAMF or any of the other dolby atmos formats your daw supports. Atmos is the last thing to worry about. Create good and catchy songs that connect with the listener/audience. Atmos won't make any difference if the song is garbage. Just focus on making great songs and don't worry.
