In future videos it would be awesome to learn more about your approach to training while being pregnant! This could help other pregnant folks who train CrossFit. I’m skimming the comments to see what others shared on this topic 😊
Shane, I know you've always been proud of Tia and her ability to do what she does. You haven't seen anything yet though. Congratulations to both of you.
I am instead picturing Shane in the delivery room, showing everyone, on the whiteboard, the plan for their DOD (Delivery of the Day). Congratulations to both and enjoy this exciting chapter every step of the way!
Tia is glowing! You look so gorgeous. Congratulations to you both. You already make an amazing team- time to apply it to raising a child. No doubt that kid is lucky to have you.
I KNEW IT!!! I don’t know how to explain it, it’s like a glow a special kind of glow pregnant women get that I saw on Tia during de CFG, I actually assumed that her physical change and noticeable difference of strength and energy compared to previous years had to be a baby coming!!! CONGRATULATIONS!!! Your 7th title will be: MOTHER, and you’ll be the best one ❤❤❤❤ We love you Tia and Shane!
I didn’t even realize she as pregnant during the games until I read this! No wonder they weren’t giving a hard yes or no about next year- they knew she wasn’t retiring but also that she wouldn’t be back for the 2023 season. That’s why she cried at the end too, huh?
We are all so excited for you. As a father you especially need patience, understanding and humility. I’m proud of you for wanting advice. I know it will become noisy after a while. You are great and research and understanding the body. Show us how a pregnant woman can be healthy and active through the whole pregnancy. Love the news and Tia you literally are glowing. I always thought it was a look but it’s more of an attitude I see. You look so healthy and happy.
It would be amazing if you could share your training during and after your pregnancy, as there’s very little advice out there for pregnant people who train a lot. But it’s such an amazing time, enjoy it! Congratulations!
The advice I had gotten was what you do before pregnancy, You can do while pregnant. You may have to adjust weights. But, everyone is different in what their body is used to. But that’s what I was told.
Congratulations Tia and Shane! So so excited for you guys. You’re such an inspiration to everyone… I can’t even imagine how much you’ll inspire your kid!
Congratulations. It will be a life changing experience, but the rewards are fantastic. The best piece of advised I can give is when your child/ren are going to bed and they say ‘I love you’ then you feel like you have done something right.
Congratulations! So happy for you both. Advice: do what is best for you and your family. There is so much debate on everything you should or shouldn’t do for your baby. Do what feels natural for you as mom and dad. Your baby will be loved and well taken care of. ❤️
Congrats! Being parents is the hardest job you’ll ever have, but it’s the most rewarding. You can take days off from the gym, but you don’t get days off from being a parent. You will both be great!
Congratulations! I recently became a mom as well. I highly recommend to take a prenatal course. We learned a ton! Have a doula who understands your birth plan, so other than your spouse/family who can support you during the delivery. Learn as much breastfeeding as you can. The breastfeeding journey is very different from each person, so learning a ton will be really helpful.
Congratulations! I highly recommend going the cloth diaper route. My daughter was potty trained in no time! There are so many options, brands, and designs. It's worth the investment.
Tia, I’m over 22 weeks in and I still do CrossFit but I am scaling a lot. I would loooovvveee to see your preggy workouts!!! I’m 36 and this is also my first pregnancy 🥰 Congratulations to you and Shane!! Exciting times ahead 🤗 So many CrossFit 2023 babies coming 😍🥰❤️❤️❤️
Congratulations!! I was 35 and preggy with my first baby and did CrossFit till I gave birth. My doctor was blown away how strong and healthy I was. I weighted 200lbs a walking up and down the stairs with my back straight and not waddling. So my advice keep doing it. God bless you and the baby ❤
@@Li0n3sS congrats to you and Eagle. I didn’t do CrossFit but I did workout 🏋️♂️ until the week before he was born. He’s 5 now and as soon as he sees me working out he tries to grab my equipment and join in 😩🤣🤣🤣🤣.
I am over the moon excited for the two of you! NOTHING, I mean NOTHING will top the birth of your baby! Y’all are going to be amazing parents. I will be praying for a safe, healthy, and really happy pregnancy! ❤️❤️
Congratulations two u both!!! My wife and I welcomed our daughter almost 2 years ago now. Best accomplishment of my life!! SCUH birthing suit and maternity ward was outstanding and we can not praise enough! All the midwives nurses and doctors were amazing! Enjoy and best of luck in the amazing adventures ahead!! Bring on 2023
Many congratulations to you both. I'm a mother of three and all I can say is when your baby gets here you'll know what to do. You'll know when to reach out for help too. You'll get to know each other really quickly, you'll know the faces and cries and what they mean. It'll come and it'll be like they've always been there before you know it. BTW Shane, my hubby fainted at our oldest's birth, that's more common than you think too 😂
You guys I’m crying 😭 because I’m super happy for the both you. CONGRATULATIONS!! I was 35 years old when I got pregnant with my first baby boy who is now 5 year old. I did CrossFit till the day I gave birth and Although I scaled down it didn’t stop me. I’m greatful for my friends and especially the coaches that were patiently working with me during my pregnancy. I was the healthiest and the strongest compared to all the pregnant women at the doctors office. I walked up and down the stairs at the hospital with my back straight without waddling. Even my doctor could not believe how strong I was especially my heart health. So my advice to you is keep moving. Your my inspiration Tia!! God bless you, Shane and the baby. ❤
Congrats!!! Just enjoy it. First baby is pure magic. You will never love each other more ❤ and, of course, the love you will feel for your child is unreal. So happy for you! Tia is just glowing
We are in it with you guys! Our first is also due in May, 2023. Wishing you all a great, healthy journey. At least we can get our 6 packs back one day, Tia 😊.
This is wonderful news. The love and joy you all emote is truly fun to watch. Please put out content for exercising while pregnant. Years ago when I was pregnant there was not a lot of content out there. Follow your heart and gut during this process. Continued blessings!
Love this for you guys!! My biggest advice is to honestly take each day as it comes. Some are bliss, some are really frocking hard. Be kind and support each other especially Tia with all the changes she will be going through. Don’t put too much pressure on yourselves! Enjoy every moment you can. It goes so so quickly!! ❤
Amazing You’re in for a roller coaster of humbling and learning It’s amazing. Pr’ing lifts and moves is amazing, but nothing like the babies first smile, laugh, walk. You guys are awesome. Enjoy it, you only get little little kids for so long
Whatever you do. Try not to keep score of who has done what or who hasn’t. It’s easy to take your frustration out on your significant other especially during the newborn stage!!! Being a mother is the best thing in the world and I feel like you two will be great! You both already work well together just remove ear you guys are in it together!!! Best of luck
Congrats! Happy for your two and your upcoming addition! As a parent for almost 18 years, the best advice I can give you is to give yourself grace. You're not gonna be prepared for this stage of your life and you're gonna make mistakes. No matter how many books you read, how many classes you take, it doesn't matter. You will not be ready for this. And that's okay. Just remember: everyone has the exact same amount of experience when they become a parent the first time.
I 💯 agree! We didn’t read any books and had a planned pregnancy. No one or nothing can prepare you for how much of a change/adjustment having a child truly is. Our daughter is our biggest blessing but parenting is also hard. It’s definitely one of the most rewarding thing we’ve done.
Congratulations you too! As a father of a 1 and a half year old girl the biggest thing for me is patience with your baby and your spouse because it is a big change and you may not always see eye to eye but you are a team of 3 now no matter what.
So amazing!!!! As a two-time mom myself, my advice is be prepared AND flexible. Sometimes things are different than you thought they would be, and that’s okay. You have this new little human with their own personality for you to discover. It’s a crazy awesome journey. ❤️
Yes flexibility is key. I found out I was having twins when I was 20 weeks as a first time mom and had to change my birth plan multiple times. You'll do great!
Congratulations to both. I would have daily talks with my 3 kids since they were in my wife's stomach. Beautiful feeling when they start to moving around when they hear you voice.
Wow! Congrats! About time you two made a family! It is going to be a journey and I am happy for you two. Welcome to the rest of your life. Annie did it recently, you can do it Tia!
Tia I am so excited for you!! I’m a new mom myself with a 6 month old. I did Murph 4 days before my due date (I considered my 30 lbs of babyweight my weigh vest 🤣). Pregnant moms are naturally intuitive about the right movements and amount of work for their bodies, so go for it and leave the haters behind. I can’t wait to follow you on your journey!
Tia Being the fittest woman on earth..NOTHING compares to Being a Mom, it's much more than acalledes recieved from all these years. Motherhood is the best , Congratulations, many more blessings to a New Year!!!
Congratulations! You will make fantastic parents. Tia, your focus through CrossFit will help you during the birth. Breathing and the ability to be calm under stress will serve you well. Shane, just do what Tia tells you during labour and you’ll be sweet! Great news, take care x
Congrats Tia & Shane!!!!🎉🎉🎉Woo hoo!!! Such an exciting new season of life!!! As my mum said to me-kids don’t come with instruction manuals…all you can do is your best to raise good humans, even if you don’t quite know what ur doing at the time! (best advice ever!!!)
Very happy for you both.. jus relax and enjoy the journey.. My Mum was a midwife and she used to say, 'every child is a miracle'.. congratulations to you both.. 💕
Congrats!! Recommend working hard the first 6 months on feed, wake, sleep schedule ad payback is huge for scheduling and is really awesome once baby gets on the schedule makes life much better especially having the baby sleep all night by 4-6 months. Babywise is a great book about this.
And what a Christmas it has become! Shane, being a dad is the greatest moment in my life. It gives you a new purpose and makes you a better man. Tia please don’t worry about your body or training. This is all part of your evolution as a mother. You will take a step back, however, you will gain a new priority, a new strength and an unbreakable will to give that little heartbeat within you the best life ever. You will be back better than ever!
You look stunning Mama! Congratulations and thank you for sharing!! Journal when you can...even if a quick note, you will enjoy reading your thoughts when they are older!
Pushing a baby out will be so easy for someone like Tia who has world class strength, resilience and determination. After 6 CrossFit games wins- this will be the most rewarding first podium place. ❤
💀💀 You know how traumatic Annies birth was? And she definitely wouldn't be the first extremely fit person to tell that tale. I don't think it's ever just "easy". But we can wish her just the best for it! 🙏🏼

Omg I literally screamed out loud and almost woke up my baby so maybe don't do that lol congratulations to you both! Definitely read "The pregnant athlete." it helped me realize that creating a human is so empowering and helped me feel even stronger. I was fortunate that so many people at my gym would complement me for being pregnant and still training. You have only seen half of what your body is capable of Tia. Can't wait to see where this takes you!
Congrats guys! Fun suggestion: have a date night and watch a home birth documentary. Might change your mind on whatever labor & delivery selection/options ya have ♥
Big daddy Shane! Good luck. Fatherhood takes a lot of practice. Biggest thing is to stand together and take on each day’s challenge one step at a time. So excited for you and your journey!
As a father, the only advice I'd offer is you'll get tons of advice, wanted or not...don't listen to any of it, you don't need it, you two are obviously smart, dedicated people, you'll figure it out as you go. You'll doubt yourself a lot but in the end know that whatever decisions you make are right for your family and your child. Congrats!
Blessings 💙 & Well done 🙌u two! I hv no doubt that this next chapter of parenthood especially as 1st time parents, u both will be a natural and well adversed due to the preparation. There's nothing more rewarding than to create and nurture new life to be kind, helpful and true in this chaotic world.
Congratulations! Advice from a Mom of three..pelvic floor physio is such a vital part of women health and is not encouraged enough. Such a game changer postpartum !!!
Congratulations!!! I just seen your photos on Facebook and they are absolutely gorgeous!!! I had my first 2yrs ago, I was did crossfit my whole pregnancy, I was actually at the gym on my due date doing a word. When it comes down to working out just listen to your body. My biggest advice is enjoy the pregnancy even on the hard days this baby will only be in your belly once and the bond you form is amazing! You two will be amazing parents!!! Once again congratulations and merry Christmas!!!
Enjoy the wonderful gift of life!!! Wishing you the blessing of health and happiness on your journey together as your family grows. Appreciate every minute together; all the ups and downs with your love for each other as the foundation to always fall back to. Congratulations!!!
Congrats to you both. Here’s some advice from a Crossfit Master whose son will be 29 next month. Yikes I’m old! Play the long game. Keep your sense of humor. Don’t sweat the small stuff. Kids are sponges and they learn by example so be good people every single day. Don’t let the task work get you down. Have fun at a child’s pace. I’ve enjoyed being a mom. Parenthood brought (forced) balance and perspective into my life. It’s a heckuva ride.
Congratulations! Best news. As a new mum, please make sure you are aware of the mental health support options around you before you have the baby. Early intervention is effective intervention and having the resources close at hand, if needed, makes life so much easier.
We couldn’t be more thrilled to learn of your new lil blessing! What a perfect Christmas gift! You’ll be the best parents! Praying for a healthy addition! Congrats and merry Christmas! ❤🎉🎄🎅🍼👶
CONGRATULATIONS TIA & SHANE on the 'new chapter'... no worries... just a few short nights & correspounding bug-eyes😎😄!!! Shane, make sure you cut the code on D-Day... I did the same on 06/12/2022.
I love watching the crossfit games and these amazing athletes. They inspire me to get back in shape. I was 139 to 140. I need to get back to working out. But I have been trying working on my dumbells like my 3lbs, 5lbs, 2lbs, . I do have my kettlebell and my work out training boxing bag. I felt depressed for awhile because I was doing so well. I slack off during the holidays, but there is no excuse. So I am trying get back to where I used to be. But I do want to congratulations to Tia and her husband on their new baby on the way. I really enjoy watching the crossfit games. It is really inspiring and I love all the stories and sacrifices that it took to get where they are. God bless you. 😊
We have had loads of births from ladies at our box. I am a new grandfather and my daughter was too sick during pregnancy to continue to train but is looking forward to her return to training. Great that we can do that together as an old former athlete grandad and a young mum

me too. I am happy for her or better for them
Yeah! The only difference is that the title MOTHER is one that she didn't have to work for. (Read that on a feminist blog years ago.)

Congratulations!!!! 🎉🍼 So happy for you both!! ❤

As a new mum, please make sure you are aware of the mental health support options around you before you have the baby. Early intervention is effective intervention and having the resources close at hand, if needed, makes life so much easier.

Congratulations to both of you.
Blessings to you, Tia! The best of Life for you in your pregnancy!
