"Shame it's not a full scale replica", I read in the comments. You have to understand that the bigger the wheel, the more lever you make and the less force feedback you feel. Thrustmaster products are 5 or 6 Nm at best, they won't sell you a steering wheel that dumps on their products. Or get a 1300€ direct drive instead and fit what you want.
Four hundred quid for a rim, with no buttons/switches or anything (not that this should have them of course), is absolutely extortionate. I assume a good chunk of that is for the logo in the middle.
+Gregz0r Probably cost, would mean more materials, greater logistics, double the retail price. Having said that, collectors would have preferred it, but it's not a small rim.
If that were the case the 599XX should be double the price of the 28GT and the Sparco would be double again. The reason is because it would be unusable on the TX/T300 due to lack of power, drastically reduce the capabilities of the TS-PC and even if it's accurate and cool, who would actually want to use a 40 inch wheel?
As an Italian born and living close to Ferrari factory i have to say this video it's quite a sensation, thank you Alan. If you want retro gloves, with, you should easily find them, they are superb.
Gorgeous wheel. For that price, as a collectable, they should have done it as a 1:1 scale wheel. By the way, for authenticity, you should have remapped the shifter for a dog leg pattern, where 1st gear is Reverse, 2nd gear is 1st etc.
Yes it would have been nice to have 1:1 scale As for the gears, interesting idea, alas that's a lot of hassle and the way its situated, probably would have needed time I didn't have to get it into a flow.
YipZone 1:1 would have been great but the leverage/torque increase that you could put on the motor would have been outside of TM’s spec for their maximum on their TX/T300 bases, which are their lowest interchangeable setups.
i understand why the wheel is smaller than the real life version. its just a shame Thrustmaster dont make a direct drive wheel so they could make the wheel full size. i mean they clearly arent going mass market with this wheel so its not like thats the reason why.
+RedRacerX This wheel is relatively light compared to the new Sparco rim. So the base is fine to power more. But a 1500 Euro rim might be a step too far right now.
when I now see Thrustmaster products more and more, makes me wonder is my Logitec G29 even close to Thrustmaster products. I gonna have the gear lever add on probably by end of the year and then run it more with DiRT Rally and other racing games for PC (still brand new pc in making its not fully ready, running old model still). I like my wheel a lot but bit makes me wonder why I turned down Thrustmaster. Your channel made it hard to choose originally. What are your thoughts on G29 and pedals it comes with?
Can you take off the Thrustmaster quick release at the back and use it with other brands? Does it have the 6-hall pattern inside the ferrari logo? Does anyone know?
@@klauslehrmann3906 I think he meant that the wheel doesn't have paddles so you need a shifter. But the one from Thrustmaster doesn't look like it's from an old car. Edit: Just checked photos. The 250 GTO's shifter is much longer but the TH8A doesn't look too far off. I mixed it up with the newer and cheaper TH8S.
High quality... it looks great but it's a really scaled down size with less detail than in the original. One being the finger grips you'd normally have on the back of the wheel to increase grip and feel, they just aren't there. Personally I'd rather run like this guy with a not so original Ferrari imitation: ruclips.net/video/nKfVkHxpwBo/видео.html
The finger grips are there, possibly not as pronounced. Trouble with that imitation is, it looks low quality but probably still isn't cheap. So Thrustmaster have gone for quality and to reduce costs, that meant a slightly smaller rim with is still the joint largest rim in the range.
Team VVV I didn't notice them as much on the video. I agree that sometimes you have to compromise. I guess you can look at it this way, the Thrustmaster way is more a cost reduction of form/appearance over function, where imitation is more function over form/appearance. Also I don't really know how much torque these fancy new bases make compared to my old T500, but with the limited output of anything not direct drive a 380mm wheel might make FFB nonexistent. The size was there to overcome the power steering less steering rack after all. The only real reason why it would feel better is the fact that you can steer more precisely, because you have to steer more due to the larger circumference. So steering is as a result slower and more precise, and thus you need to be more calculating in terms of calculating how much time it takes to actually steer into a corner. Oh well... Preferences and everything having pros and cons, as with everything.
The trouble is like with all these companies once something like racing becomes popular they stsrt to rinse us for as much money as possible theres not 350 pounds worth of materials there anyone who justifies this price is talking bollocks most of us wouldnt spend that much on a proper car wheel upgrade. Ill stick with my 599x
Maybe you need to set the FOV as low as possible but for me at least when driving the car in AC the front always looked too narrow and pointy somehow. I must have another try and tweak the FOV. Maybe refer to m.ruclips.net/video/ewQaikxTUJs/видео.html at about 01:00 to see what I mean

Expensive, but very beautiful - and yes, gloves man!

For that price, it’s a shame it’s not 100% scaled - it looks about the same relative size as the 599xx Alcantara rim.
+Gregz0r Probably cost, would mean more materials, greater logistics, double the retail price. Having said that, collectors would have preferred it, but it's not a small rim.
Team VVV - Yeah I guess. I have the Alcantara 599 wheel and I love it.
+Gregz0r Good man, it has served me well.

Very cool collectors item. Looks like it would be a really satisfying wheel to drift with. I can already hear the mob gathering to lynch me D:
Would take GPL to a whole new level of immersion.
Only just finding out about this rim thanks to the latest TM SF1000 video.

The wheel looks amazing, but looks a little weird with the plastic base right behind it
+MonkeyMan Racing Yeah I know what you mean, feels like it needs something to cover that.
What a beautiful wheel. To bad I have all Fanatec CSW stuff.
Why the hell is there a ps2/din when the wheel has no buttons or shifters... just a way to make it more expensive?
Maybe not an exact replica but still a great piece of artwork to display when ur not using it.
Nice!
+Jerry Joe Yes, always nice to look at. Needs a st and or a hook to put it on.
I would pay, at most, 150 dollars for the rim.
Its cool, but not 400 dollars cool.
can i use the wheel on the thrustmaster t300rs gt wheelbase?
As far as I understood it, it works (for PC) on all TM wheel bases for interchangeable steering wheels.
When you don't have any glasses you look a bit like Dani Sordo
Looks like your driving Noddy,s car, due to your size and camera angle, early on lol.👀😎
+GamingLegends Haha yes, that's my 6' 7" stuck in there.
It could be great if they had made it 1:1 scale.
Looks amazing!
that looks amazing

Anyways me and 4 of my friends ordered it
Here's hoping they don't cancel it lmao

thanks for info. thats why i've not yet fully decided. there is offical shifter for G29 too.
Is this the same wheel as the 250 LM has?

Wow beautiful 👍
Does it work with the Tx servo wheel base?
Must be awesome driving a Corvette with a Ferrarii wheel
+MutantAli3n like using any branded wheel it does the job.
Greetings.
Does this work with the T300 and on PS5? on Thrustmaster's website it says PC. makes no sense to me.
Hmm no sure, I just tested it with PC. It doesn't have a PS or XB button to connect the controller. You'll also need to connect a gear stick.
@@TeamVVV Connect a gearstick? Not understood. I have Thrustmaster's own and it can be plugged into the base or to the console.

How much does it weigh?
No idea off hand, make a search on Thrustmasters site, they may have some stats somewhere.
cool
