- After 20 days at sea, we arrived in the Caribbean! We came into Jolly Harbour at night but after being the keenest to check in the next day, we were so excited to be surrounded by fruit trees, turquoise water and Caribbean culture.

About Us
We are Becka and Zach, a couple who, in 2020, dreamt of sailing off into the big blue. Trouble is- we were in a pandemic, had a university degree to finish, on a student budget, only had ever sailed dingies, oh and didn’t have a boat. The dream seemed not only unrealistic but pretty insane.
However, we worked hard, finished our degrees, worked as many hours as physically possible, saved with all our might, got experience and in March 2022 bought our very own sailboat, Teulu. Having little sailing experience and being a young couple, we have encountered a tonne of hurdles and made plenty of mistakes! but for every downfall, there has always been a reason to dust ourselves off and carry on.

I've seen a dozen sailing channels try to capture the feeling of having crossed an ocean for the first time, but that opening on the dock blew them all out of the water. So awesome.

Congrats!!! That opening scene reminded me of when I was a kid and used to cruise around the BC gulf islands. I could seriously recall the smells. I’d love to accomplish a crossing like that.

So cool, when you arrived there was a Steve Dashew designed boat right next to you (Iceberg). He used to design sail boats for cruisers for nearly 50 years.
Iceberg is a crazy boat, we’d love to have a look around it!
Steve Dashew boats are incredible. Not the prettiest, but do the job better than anything else of a similar size.

Bloody fantastic you've actually achieved your dream of kissing the Dock in the Caribbean l did the same thing when l was 18 the only difference is it was my first trip to sea in the Merchant Navy and l arrived on Oriana. So well done you two for achieving it all on your own bloody doing it 😎😎😎

Living the dream!!!. Would like to sail but cant afford it, funnily enough just watched a vlog from Sailing into Freedom who are giving away their yacht Freedom. Amazing oportunity for someone like me that doesn't have the resources to buy a boat.

Congratulations, that is a massive achievement by all of you.
I hope your friend who pulled out of the crossing doesn't regret it too much. I had the chance to sail across the Pacific in 1985 and am so glad i did it. Now, at 65 years of age I look back and it cost me a job and all my money at the time, but I've had lots of jobs and spending 5 1/2 months was a life altering experience. Well done to you all.

You showed your emotions and Someone said,l dont think you are cut out for this. They can eat their words now, and were completely wrong,and should of kept that comment to their self. I'm so glad to see you managed to have a halfway swim, one of my finest memories from my own first crossing when I was 18, I and four others sailed a 30m Jongert across for some clients, we had every type of weather you could imagine but the halfway swim was unforgettable, the water was completely still, like a mirror and because we came to a complete stop there were eventually no ripples, nothing at all until we jumped in and much like your reaction, the dark and endless abyss below my feet was a sight I'll never forget, how dark and deep it was from the surface knowing we were just a tiny speck in the middle of the ocean. That was eleven years ago, can hardly believe it sometimes, but incredibly I'm sitting at 14 crossings total now, not all as perfect as the first though ;) Well done!
