- This customer called and said he thought his Inverter-Converter wasn’t working in his class A motorhome. I was trying to diagnose it and I was getting some strange readings. I am confident that I figured out the problem, but I wasn’t able to fix it.

Thank you for helping blow the cob webs off the old noggin. It’s nice to get a clear diagnosis from you.
Wish there were more guys like you.
Great job on being the electrical detective. Don
Experiential knowledge can’t be beat. Almost 22,000 subscribers. You are on your way to stardom! 👍🙂✝
Thanks
Well it would be hard to change your batteries at 10vac , or less try to run anything that needs 120vac. These things go bad and have to be replaced. Great Job on find the problem.
Man, Ive had to deal with some RV techs at the unnamed large company, they don’t know 5% of what Kenny knows. I’m serious, this is high level stuff on this channel. Haven’t run in to any out this way (Las Vegas) with Hillbilly’s skill set.
Wow !!!
Thank you very much. Jobs like this make me feel like an idiot. I always think I am missing something simple.
Oh well, a dead end but a call back may get it done. Nice seeing Bill
16 years for a convertor doesn't sound too bad? Looks like a spendy one though. Good job!
I always hate having to tell a customer the inverter is bad. I have found sometimes they will start to work again out of the blue and work for a while. eventually they totally quit. Go figure. Thanks for the videos.
Yes
Well I think you did a great job, finding electrical problems are the toughest of all. Even if you have schematics half of them don't match. They seem to wire them hither in yar, any way they want to. Keep up the good work Kenny.
They almost never are useful.
If the inverter and charge lights are both on it will not invert. Push the charge button to turn the charger off when you are trying to invert. You can not invert and charge at the same time.
Does the coach have solar on the roof charging the batteries? Did you have charging voltage at the isolator’s connections with the engine running? Is the breaker tripped on the converter? Most likely it’s the converter. I am the type of person who would tear into it once it was back at the shop. I like to find out what component failed. Good luck and what a beautiful day outside to be working.
Mentioned it's been replaced before. Maybe something is blowing it up. Need bigger inverter??
I graduate tomorrow from NRVTA for certified rv tech.
Good luck. I hope you enjoy it.
Good morning
I asked heartland for a wiring diagram for our new trailer and they said there is no such thing. Not even a owners manual. We got manual's for most of the appliances only.
Given that the inverter was putting out 10VAC rather than nothing at all, i would assume it's on but has given up on life.
13:34 - you had 12.7 on the battery. if it is hooked up you will get it on the solenoid even if it is open
Thanks!
Thanks
Stop with the high technical terms like wonky😂. Love your channel.
KISS
Ha ha
Way to troubleshoot electric side. See ya on the next one
Had a good busy week too, have you changed window seals, boy my thumbs are killing me😮but did find a better way using a small putty knife. Another great video my friend.
There is always a better way.
Ken, Does he have 120 volts when the gen is running, or does all power go 120-12-120?
