    The reason for the broken film might be that the film isn't loaded properly. (I see people get this wrong. Even in the lomography how to video.)
    The film has to go under the roller not the little metal rod-thingy. This mistake creates too much resistance.
    Check it out in the Horizon user manual.
    Other than that, I think you might be advancing a bit too quickly. - especially if the film isn't routed properly... 🤷🏻‍♂️

      I’ll double check that I’ve got it loaded up correctly (sure I did) but whichever way I do it, only the cheap film tears

      @@GraemeSimpsonPhotography Sure. Expensive film might be stronger. But let me tell you, I shoot Fomapan 85% of the time and it hasn't happened to me... I have however for a long time been loading my camera incorrectly. Now that I've done it correctly I'm curious to see if the winding of the film becomes more smooth...
