Hey good morning Dennis. Great job on mowing and explaining to us what you are doing. Thanks for cleaning windows, much better to see out. Boy that’s a big field of hay to cut. Enjoyed the video as always. Have a great day. Ronald
Enjoyed your mowing video. Just purchased a Massey 2650 and waiting to use it for round baling. So far what little loader work I’ve done been good especially cause I’m not on and open station tractor. Got some minor changes to make but other than that it should work well in my operation.
Getting dry hay up this year has been like trying to bend a stump I noticed you have one of those old bolt together metal silos still standing have a nice day
Dennis I going to try to cut today never been this late on first cutting some I cut earlier getting ready to cut again I like 50 acres cutting first, the massey doing a good job pulling the cutter, I can tell how steep the field is, take care.
you keep on talking about that tractor you gonna make me trade one of my older ones and get a new massey..We run all massey except for 1 deere maybe that's the one needs replacing lol great videos dennis and we just finished our first cutting last week.
Dlhfarms you hit the nail with catching the tail end of rain. Always good wind following those fronts to dry down n get that hay in a bale. NH 1411 discbine n just got a center pivot. Still not used to swinging to my left or working fields with such freedom. You like your new mower ?
I hate having to cut rough fields, I love being able to just open up a little. We cut in 7th gear on our 4010 and 4020 which is about 12 mph. It handles it fine even in fields with 4 or 5 bales to the acre.
DeHaven Family Farm gotta find that perfect day to roll it out. I hear n feel your pain. When your ass goes above the steering wheel , prob slow down a bit 😂😂😂
I pull a Kuhn 10'2" trailed mower with my 4710, granted not a conditioning mower, on one of our flatter smooth fields at 12mph with a clean cut. Most fields around here are too rough to cut faster than about 7mph. I'm usually running high 1 and 2, and around 510-520rpm on the PTO unless I'm on the smooth field. I need full 540rpm to cut clean at that speed.
The Deere is a much better built tractor and I like it much more than the T5 NH I had the Deere dose use a little more fuel but it also has way more power.
I wonder if either the flywheel is a bit too heavy for the machine and causes the overrunning or if their is some type of spider gear connection you can put in the driveline to lessen that clunking noise. I don't know if it actually called a spider gear, but it is a chunk of rubber/plastic of some kind that goes in between two parts of the driveline and is supposed to reduce some shock loading. Maybe yours has one and it is worn out a bit or gotten too hard? You just know that every time it clunks it has to be doing a bit of damage to something.
I’m seriously considering a 4707 going back and rewatching your videos. How do you like it loading hay with the 510F grabber? I want to use it for raking/tedding and picking up bales
That loader frame doesn't bother you being so high above the hood? It seems like it would block a lot of your site to the ground. Also was there a specific reason you went with a mower that just swings out to one side instead of a hydroswing? I'm looking at getting a new pull type mower and getting rid of my 3 pt mower but I'm not sure if I want to get another mower where you can only go one way.
No the loader doesn't bother me, and yeah there is a reason I've got a mower that only swings one way and the reason is about $10,000 bucks more to swing both ways.
Nice man. I was wondering if you were gonna mow with the Massey. I knew it would do great. Did you get a handle on that field with the Johnson grass? I know it can be relentless sometimes. Me and my son will be up your way this weekend. Gonna trout fish a little.
Hey Boss I have a few questions for you regarding your T5 New Holland. We are contemplating a smaller tractor for mainly a loader, Will be moving 3x4s weighing 1300 + per bale off the field and use it in the winter to feed with, found a good deal on a T4.95. You know the T4 and T5 platform which is the better of the two and then out of the T5 and T4 do you prefer your T6030? We have a T6070 with the super steer and it is super nimble and would work in our corrals in the winter. Should we stick with it or do you think one of the others have and advantage for loader work? Our T6070 came with a joystick and is plumbed for a loader so we would have to put one on it but they do make loaders everyday! Thanks for any input
We'll be working, but probably won't be anyone there to load a big load of top soil. My mom will probably be there but she only loads with the small tractor, she loads pick ups and small trailers.
Well thinking about buying one to install on your Komatsu excavator?👍🏻😉 I mean: A man with your labour need the latest equipment to compete with your competitor firms.
Dennis, I'm courious as to why you don't make the first pass with the mower to the outside of the field, it looks like you missed the width of the mower on the outside of the field, just my 2 cents worth.
Nice field of hay Dennis, I hope it does well for you, and the Massey seems to be doing a good job for you. Also, did you get the steering knob I sent?
So you never liked the Masseys? I have been looking at the 1700M series compacts, but they cost a lot more than some of the other compacts and not sure they are worth it.

I'm happy the mass will do good for mowing this video made my day when u said u was going b to mow with keep up on the great videos
👍
👍🏼another great video.
Thanks! 👍
Looks like she handles the mower pretty good! nice setup there man!
Yeah it can get the job done.
glad you mentioned the windows, they seem to be the last thing i think of leaving the yard
Yeah they are hard to keep clean when doing hay.

Yep been thinking about it!
That is some steep ground right there. We have had early evening thunder bumpers 20 of the last 21 days in SOWEGA.
Yeah it's been difficult this year to get up hay for everyone around here.
the massey was doing well, the 4wd always takes a good bit of power to drive them front wheels, looks a good bit of grass on there also,
Yeah it was pretty heavy grass.
Good video the tractor did a good job you will be wiped out today with so little rest but when the ox is in the hole you have to get him out LOL
Lol that's right. Got to make hay when the sun shines.

Yeah it's a good mower is a few years old now
I agree the quiet ride of the Massey is preferable.
My fields are to rough to go more than about 5 mph- I couldn't imagine what 9 mph feels like!
This is the only field I can go that fast in, all my other fields are like you say too rough.

It has an over running clutch on the baler, it's something to do with the tractor because none of my other tractors do it when running the same baler.
The little that cameras show that hill, it still looks pretty steep. Does that tractor have a clutch/declutch button on the shift lever?
Yes it does have a declutch button and it's very handy.
Have you tried running your square baler set up with the Massey?
Nope not yet. I'm sure it would do just fine.
What’s the benefit of using a disc mower/condition such as the one you’re using versus just a disc mower? Drying time?
Yes drying time
I’m seriously considering a 4707 going back and rewatching your videos. How do you like it loading hay with the 510F grabber? I want to use it for raking/tedding and picking up bales
It works great for all those things! That's exactly what I use it for. The loader it fast and strong too.

Maybe if the mower was wider but I'm not sure there would be any time saved with the same width mower.

Sounds like a good deal
Had to do a little horse trading but we got the deal done 👍
I could tell it was steep on video and I also heard the tractor grunting when you hit that steep part.
Yeah it ain't no joke!
DLH Farms I farm in East Tennessee, the Tricities area and we have some pretty steep ground too.
The fertilizer probably helped the field from bolting early.
I agree, there are some fields around that I know weren't fertilized and they have turned completely yellow.
How much is the tractors,, ARC??
Good stuff
Thanks!
Missed a spot. Just teasing... haha
I probably did. Lol
What's the cutting width of your mower ?
The one in this video is 10 feet 4 inches. I just traded it for a 13 feet but not pulling it with the Massey
Needs some old iron to run that disc bine like a Deere, Ford, ih or allis some wit good ole snot behind her 😉
Or just hook it back to the T5 or the 6030. This was just for fun to see what this little 3 cylinder could do.
DLH Farms u need a 6030 Deere 👍👍
No no no, I've got a 6030 NH it's got plenty of grunt with it's 6 cylinder.
DLH Farms ahhhh come on good ole iron is good for the sole brings ya back to ur roots hahaha
It 9 years old does that count? Lol
Do u think this massy would handle ur hla snow wing?
No it's to big for it. It would definitely pick it up but you wouldn't want to try to carry it around and use it with it.
U should get some led lights on the masyfurgions
I have some on the back now
How fast you mow going up that steep incline on your t5 compared to the massey
Massey 3 mph T5 about 4 mph
Hey buddy are yall open Friday at your dads shop was going get some top soil to plant grass Friday
We'll be working, but probably won't be anyone there to load a big load of top soil. My mom will probably be there but she only loads with the small tractor, she loads pick ups and small trailers.
Ok I'll have a small trailer only get 3 tons
Hey buddy I've tried calling make sure they going be there. Just wanted make sure they are before I drive there can u check see what time they will be
She says she won't be around to load you untill after lunch.
She will be there at 1:00pm
Come up to northern Pa and I’ll show ya steep hahah
Come to southWest Virginia and I’ll show you steep

I mow that after I make about 3 rounds in, that way the only tall hay I run over is on the outside round.

Does the mower float on the ground or do you need to keep adjusting it?
You just put the hydraulics in float. The mower has springs that help it float over the ground.

should have got a Kubota. it would have out done that massey and new holland
Negative!

you still like massey is it a better overall tractor sold the t4.120
It's is a better tractor than the T4 only thing I miss is the dual power of the dual command and the power, the Massey is 20 less hp than the 120.
