Thanks for the good info & video. Much better than the sales folks- except one that I ran into who told me about the stops being able to be adjusted for the steering. I asked a couple others who didn't know what I was talking about.
Yep a lot of tractors have those stops. I have heard many people complain about the steering angle of thier tractor when really all they need to do is adjust it correctly.
Looks & sounds like Massey did a good job to meet most of an operator's needs & preferences. Thanks for posting a review & your opinion on the tractor. It always seems better to get information from an operator over a salesperson when it comes to most equipment used out there. Stay safe.
+crslyrn. True, most of the time a salesman don't care about anything but to get the sell, they will build it up like it the best thing ever, they never tell you the negatives.
I was run out of the straw field yesterday too up here in the eastern Panhandle of WV . The storm was passing us then the wind shifted and then we all were soaked.
+Midwest Allis Fan. To me it's worth the risk, it's not very common you have an electronic failure that will stop you from working, also I'm pretty good at finding and fixing elecrical problems. I like a good elecrical puzzle occasionally. Lol
The auto four wheel drive is tied into the lift when the lift passes a certain point it disengages the 4x4 to save the tyres turning on the headland the same as auto pto
Ok between you and bagwell farms y'all talked me into it... pretty much a mate to yours 4710 936x loader, Visio roof, I did add 3 weights to the rear each side.. I've always been a new holland guy... supposed to pick the Massey up today...
Brother u seem like a good guy. I got to say I was going to buy a JD but since it seemed u were just trying to help any farmer out there with honesty and not picking one over the other. My buy will be a MF. U did a good job in ur review.
+joe tiller. That baler belongs to the guy I was custom baling for. They we're good balers in thier day, my dad ran thousands of bales though one when they had the dairy.
We got a 5445, and it has a 4 gears high and low and also has a C/D on every gear. It is like a split gear. I do think that it is a very good transmission.
I have watched many of your videos on RUclips and find them very well done and educational. I write you because I am very interested in the MF 4710. I own a 72-acre cattle and poultry farm in east Alabama. I am also considering the JD 5100e as well as the Kubota MX5-111. Did you consider these tractors before purchasing the 4710? Do you regret the purchase in any way? If so, what 100HP tractor do you wish you would have purchased? Thanks for all the great videos, keep it up.
I did consider the Kubota M5 and the 5100M I refuse to own an E series Deere, to many horror stories, I went with the 4710 because of the dealer at the time and it had the best value. I don’t regret it at all I love my 4710.
I really appreciate you taking time to review this tractor in detail. I just wanted to clarify a few points as I'm thinking if buying one. I have an mf 5455 (4cylinder dyna 4) and I dislike that I have to constantly change ranges. Also the lowest gear is too fast for hedgecutting . I was wondering if this transmission is very slow in the lowest gear . Also is the lowest gear in the high range, low geared enough so that you could take of from a standing stop with a reasonable load on a hill for example. As I find that I always have to go into medium range to take off on a hill with a load with my Massey but not my valtra as the valtra is lowered geared in the high range . Thank you very much
+AgriSpec. I wish I could give you an honest answer for your questions but I only ran the tractor for one day and didn't test the speeds of the transmission. It's been quite a while ago since I done this review and I don't remember much about the transmission. I do know that I liked the tractor pretty well but probably wouldn't buy one because it's only a 12 speed and I need a 16 or 24 speed. One thing I do remember is that there are only two ranges High and low then there are 6 gears in each range which would mean there should be less range changing.
If you lift the rubber boot up under the joystick there is an adjustment to bring the joystick further towards or further away from the operator. In my onpinion the only downside of this tractor is you cannot get it with powershift dyna 4 or dyna 6 transmission if you want tha you have to get 5700 series tractors
DLH Farms yer its just a m8 bolt on a slide like most loader joysticks ( only know because i work for a dealer in their workshop and fitted one last week)
you give it a fair shake!!, if you like massey, like a friend of mine, you will buy.. if you like green you likely won't buy !! good vid, I just subscribed
+buffranchAB. Since your new I'll tell you, I'm a New Holland guy, but I have an open mind to other brands, I like trying out other equipment to see how it compares to the equipment I use all the time, I don't get to do this often but when I get the chance it will be on film. Thanks for the sub!
I was a ford guy, for the ag tractors at least, but did not carry on and follow up with the new holland deal, swung over hard to deere then, but I'm a chev guy, just ford tractors, not ford autos , I had a uncle that had ford tractors for 35 years, kinda got me to them.
+buffranchAB. I was a ford tractor guy to and kept right on with New Holland, had a good dealer 2 miles away, some of the models that are made in England like the T6 are made in the same factory the ford 7700's and TWs where made.
+jacky bruckers. Most all tractors that have a hydraulic engaged PTO also have a hydraulic PTO brake. On my T5 there is a button on the fender that you can press that will slightly turn the PTO so you can align the splines.
Yeah that is a plus that it wasn't hay. Was actually custom baling for a neighbor. Personally have 100 of 450 acres of first cutting hay to make yet. Then start all over on second cutting. Hopefully the weather holds out.
+Bagwell Farms. Thanks I've been told that there may be an adjustment on that to move it a little closer under the rubber boot, but I don't know that for sure.
Would you buy this tractor or a T4 75? I am currently looking for a 75 hp tractor to add to the fleet. Interested in T4 .75 and MF series 4700 series and also kubota 7060. Question is have you had any problems with NH emissions?
+Georgia Swampman. They are both good tractors, I think they are both going to be reliable Tractors, I had a T4.115 that I liked for the most part. I know the engine and transmission are solid in the T4. That being said since I've had a T4 I would probably give this Massey a try mainly because it's sold by the same dealer I buy my blue from and that is what is most important to me is the dealer support, even though I work on my own equipment once it's out of warranty, with all the computers and electronics I have to have info and diagrams and so on and I know my dealer will provide anything I need. My suggestion would be to go try each one, demo them if you can see which one fits you better, then consider the dealer and their reputation with providing support if you do have a problem, because with either one you will most likely have a few small problems. As far as emissions I have never had an emission problem with the T4 or the T5.
+Georgia Swampman. Oh and as far as the 7060 it's not even in the same category as the T4 or the 4700 as far as comfort goes in my opinion and my kubota dealer sucks so they are out for me.
+onlygazza's fastrac farming. The 5600 and 5700 tractors with the dyna 4 transmission has that, but the 46 and 4700 series are manual transmission only.
+cattle and crop. I don't own the 4710 I only got to try it out for a day, but yes the shuttle was smooth and it has 3 different settings to make it shift soft or more abruptly.
DLH Farms Do you work for the Agco dealership or is the dealership letting you try it out for the exposure on your channel? I see you did a 4610m video also. How did they compare?
+cattle and crop. Actually neither one, the 4610 belongs to a friend of mine and the 4710 belongs to his neighbor. I like the 4710 better it's a nicer tractor and more my style. The guy that owns the 4610 likes it better than the 47.
+Russ Kes. I don't have enough seat time with it to answer that question. It had plenty of power just moving hay around but I didn't get to try it with anything that put a load on the engine.
Thank you sir... how was the ride quality? Did you test top end speed? I'm looking at upgrading as I do a lot of road travel between custom jobs and my 19mph top speed sucks!
+Chris Warren. If your willing to work someone will give you a chance, your probably not going to get to start out in a machine though, your going to have to work your way up.
Can definitely see improvements from the 4600 series... making me curious on what the 7700 series improved on. I think the next step for transmissions would be the Dyna-4, which are very nice but probably looking at AT LEAST $15,000 more for the tractor. I'm not sure if the 4700 series offers the Dyna transmissions, might have to go to the 5700.
+Farming 4 Generations. I'm pretty sure the dyna 4 is on the 5700 and up only, would be a nice option for a smaller Tractor like the 4700 it would make me way more interested in the 4700.
The 5700 is available here in the US, there are a few dealers that have them, but not sure if you can still get the 3 cylinder, you could in the 5600 series.
Not referring to the 5700 global but the 5700 dyna-4 global. Bit more than a 5700 global being offered with a Dyna-4. It is being sold as a separate model. In Europe they are selling 4 global models; 4700, 5700, 5700 Dyna-4, and 6700. Go to the UK site for more info.
One of the reasons I don't like the modern New Hollands is the stupid shuttle you talked about, that and the electronic spool valves. I love New Holland to death but damn that's annoying. Go back to the TM series with the good shuttle and cable control spool valves (for the most part) they are one of the best tractors to ever have been manufactured
+Chris Warren. If your in the USA I don't think a license is required, not in my state anyway. Some company's require license for forklifts but it's not a state law.
Good review, I work on cars all the electrical gadgets will be a headache with time unless your trading every few years, if not get a service Manuel not owners but a service or shop Manuel it will have codes trouble shooting info YOU WILL NEED IT don't care what brand you buy ,sensors and wiring issues become troublesome as tractor ages I have a 986 international 1978 still going those days are over with all the electronic gadgets! It Is what it is, that's just my two cents
Just took delivery on mine last Saturday. Never owned a tractor in my life. Thanks for helping me learn!
I've got lots of videos on it and more to come.
Great video and thanks for taking the time to go over all things instead of just points to the things you dont like unlike some others on youtube
+AJ. Thanks AJ I try to keep an open mind and point out the good and the bad.
Looks & sounds like Massey did a good job to meet most of an operator's needs & preferences. Thanks for posting a review & your opinion on the tractor. It always seems better to get information from an operator over a salesperson when it comes to most equipment used out there. Stay safe.

I was run out of the straw field yesterday too up here in the eastern Panhandle of WV . The storm was passing us then the wind shifted and then we all were soaked.
+Sacred Cross Cattle co. Don't it suck when that happens, at least it was straw and not hay.
Man after seeing all the fancy features it's making me appreciate the older ones better all the time.
+Midwest Allis Fan. I actually perfer features on my tractor makes life a little easier.
DLH Farms I understand that totally, I just worry about when an electronic switch goes out how the tractor can function without it.
+Midwest Allis Fan. To me it's worth the risk, it's not very common you have an electronic failure that will stop you from working, also I'm pretty good at finding and fixing elecrical problems. I like a good elecrical puzzle occasionally. Lol
GETTING READY TO GO BUY ONE TOMORROW THANKS FOR THE IN DEPTH VIDEO
Nice video! I wish more manufacturers would opt for fewer ranges and more gears.
+Guy in WY. Yep I agree!
The auto four wheel drive is tied into the lift when the lift passes a certain point it disengages the 4x4 to save the tyres turning on the headland the same as auto pto
Great review, no bad experience mentioned so that tractor seems to do the job well
+Jan Kotze. Thanks Jan, seems to be a pretty good machine. Time will tell for the owner.
Do you know if the Dr still likes the tractor? Any issues?
He still likes it. I have one now, go to my channel and you will see it in several videos.
Ok between you and bagwell farms y'all talked me into it... pretty much a mate to yours 4710 936x loader, Visio roof, I did add 3 weights to the rear each side.. I've always been a new holland guy... supposed to pick the Massey up today...
Good luck I still really like mine. It's a good tractor.
Brother u seem like a good guy. I got to say I was going to buy a JD but since it seemed u were just trying to help any farmer out there with honesty and not picking one over the other. My buy will be a MF. U did a good job in ur review.
Thanks! I ended up buying ba 4710 I've got several videos of it
Awesome review man! I always enjoy your vids. Have a good one!
+Denny's Country Life. Thanks! Glad you liked it!
Good walk around on tractor, looks like my old NH chain round baler in the back ground.
+Lasse Horsgård. Sounds kind of like New Hollands dual command.
on my TS100A the loader handle is on the arm rest it is really comfortable to use
+Donal TS100A. Yeah that's where it is on my T5 and T6030
DLH Farms ah right
Massey always had good little tractors. I have had good results with the bigger ones too--1105 and 1135. I am going to look at a 4710 Monday.
👍
that looks like a great tractor compared what im use to. more gears are nice. great video.
+Howard Younger. Thanks
+Howard Younger. It is a pretty nice Tractor for the price point.
MF Dyna 4 & 6 are hands down the most reliable transmissions on the market. If you get a chance, test a MF with Dyna 4 trans.
+Daniel Altman. I hope to get to try one someday.

BEWARE OF AN E series
And you had the hat with the holes I have a farm too
+tyler spencer. My poor hat got caught in the square baler, lol I need to see if Franklin Welding will give me another one.

With your "short arms"Ibet you were the farm kid that bench pressed 400 lbs in the tenth grade? Thanks for your good works!
Lol probably could have. 👍
Mr DLH , RESPECTIVELY ASKING RETIRING IN A FEW MONTHS AM
THINKING OF GO IN TO THE HAY
BUSINESS. PROFITABLE OR UNPROFITABLE?
If your buying all new equipment, not profitable. You'll be lucky to break even.
Does not all tractor brands have a freewheel on the pto ? I can turn the pto shaft by hand if the engine is running and the pto is not in neutral .
Many tractors have a pto brake so you can not turn the pto shaft while the engine is running. I don´t like this feature.
+jacky bruckers. Most all tractors that have a hydraulic engaged PTO also have a hydraulic PTO brake. On my T5 there is a button on the fender that you can press that will slightly turn the PTO so you can align the splines.

+Sacred Cross Cattle co. We have turned off kinda dry here 2nd cut has stopped growing.
you did a good job butty !!!! and i hope you have a good one!!!!!
Thanks Ricky
Great video bud very informative the loader stick is a little far
+Bagwell Farms. Thanks I've been told that there may be an adjustment on that to move it a little closer under the rubber boot, but I don't know that for sure.
i live in wingate nc about 4 hr away from ashville
+Chris Warren. Oh ok
Nice video i think i will buy this tractor
Hope you like it they are very nice tractors!
DLH Farms can you tell me the price for this tractor please!
How many square bales do you get to an acre of wheat straw?
+Truck Dispatcher. This was rye straw we were getting close to 100 bales per acre
DLH Farms Thanks
Dennis, what Transmission does your 4710 have in it!
It has a 12x12 power shuttle
Would you buy this tractor or a T4 75? I am currently looking for a 75 hp tractor to add to the fleet. Interested in T4 .75 and MF series 4700 series and also kubota 7060. Question is have you had any problems with NH emissions?

You like the Massey better or new Holland blue tractor
Massey all the way
Did you try out the knob right below the shuttle lever that adjusts the firmness and speed of the forward/reverse shift?
you know i knew that was there, but i forgot all about it during my review so i didn't get to try it.
ok thanks u for let me know that
+Chris Warren . No problem
In the uk the lever on the left can also be used to change 4 clutch less gear changes in every gear, does this have that on, dyno shift 👍
+onlygazza's fastrac farming. The 5600 and 5700 tractors with the dyna 4 transmission has that, but the 46 and 4700 series are manual transmission only.
DLH farms I saw you today with your dad at Wendy's one beside tractor supplies I was going to say hi but I didn't
+tyler spencer. Yep! We're doing a job across from the race track, you should have said hey!
What do you think of kubota tractors
+homer1869 . I'm sure they are fine but I'm pissed off at Kubota so I'll never own one
DLH Farms lol ya seen that video
Where are the 4710's made? Thank you!
+Rick Campbell. Rumor is they are made in China
I kinda thought that, I may have read that somewhere? And the Case 90C I think is too?
+Rick Campbell. I think that case is made in Italy.
That would be odd, aren't things only made in China and Japan?! Lol
+Rick Campbell. Lol! Basically
Are you happy with the 4710? Is the shuttle smoother then the 4600 series (not as violent)?
+cattle and crop. I don't own the 4710 I only got to try it out for a day, but yes the shuttle was smooth and it has 3 different settings to make it shift soft or more abruptly.
DLH Farms Do you work for the Agco dealership or is the dealership letting you try it out for the exposure on your channel? I see you did a 4610m video also. How did they compare?

+cattle and crop. I don't own any Massey's I'm all NH, not saying I wouldn't own one, but I would probably get a 5711 or 12 with the Dana 4
DLH Farms were you a Ford guy before New Holland?
what horse power is it
+Roll coop RUclips. It's 100 engine horse power. That's what the 10 means in the 4710, a 4709 would be 90hp and so on.
o okay thank u
+Roll coop RUclips. No problem
it is and the time i can spend with my dad make ever fun
+Chris Warren. Spend as much time with him as you can while your young.
does it have good low end torque? we have 5095m john deere, at wide open it pulls decent but at low rpm its gutless!
+Russ Kes. I don't have enough seat time with it to answer that question. It had plenty of power just moving hay around but I didn't get to try it with anything that put a load on the engine.
DLH Farms thanks for the quick reply, and also a very nice walk around of the tractor. subed
+Russ Kes. Thanks for the sub Russ!
Russ Kes the best tractor for the low rpm toque is the 5700's series. They have a long level range of toque from low rpm's to high rpm's speeds.
How'd it do on fuel consumption? 100hp and seems like a small tank at 24gal.
+Five Oaks Farm of Georgia. I didn't check fuel economy, but I've heard those 3 cylinder Massey's do really good on fuel
Thank you sir... how was the ride quality? Did you test top end speed? I'm looking at upgrading as I do a lot of road travel between custom jobs and my 19mph top speed sucks!
+Five Oaks Farm of Georgia. I didn't test it, but I'm pretty sure it goes 25mph. It seemed to ride good and the air ride seat worked good.
that what i was think also but i wasnt sure i just figer it was because i didnt have lic to drive a mechanical
yeah it is if someone would give a chance
+Chris Warren. If your willing to work someone will give you a chance, your probably not going to get to start out in a machine though, your going to have to work your way up.
were can i get help get my hevey equipment lic
+Chris Warren. I'm not sure, I don't have one and have been operating equipment for years.
Thanks for the review.
I bet you stick with Blue.
+Chuck Stevenson. I might would try red because it's the same dealer as I buy my blue from.
Tell him we appreciate it
+steve smith 👍
i start working at the 8 help my pawpaw out in the grading and help my dad work on cars and bobcats and 🚚
Can definitely see improvements from the 4600 series... making me curious on what the 7700 series improved on.
In Europe the 5700 Dyna-4 is offered with a 3-cyl and 4-cyl engines. The US/Canada site does not list a 5700 Dyna-4 tractor as being available.
Here the one with the Dyna 4 is called the 5700SL and you can get the SL Deluxe version also
One of the reasons I don't like the modern New Hollands is the stupid shuttle you talked about, that and the electronic spool valves. I love New Holland to death but damn that's annoying. Go back to the TM series with the good shuttle and cable control spool valves (for the most part) they are one of the best tractors to ever have been manufactured
+Yota's are life. I haven't had one with electric spool valves, my T5 has an electric loader valve and I like it pretty good.
i sorry if my spell it worng
+Chris Warren. If your in the USA I don't think a license is required, not in my state anyway. Some company's require license for forklifts but it's not a state law.
what gong on
+Chris Warren. Oh, not much.
me and dad are rebuilt a trail
+Chris Warren. Sounds like fun.
man since i being wacth u i leran a lot not just coimg up with thing to do,it just how u go about life and doing thing
+Chris Warren. Yep! Thanks for the compliment.
it hot
+Chris Warren. Yeah it was yesterday, not to bad here yet.
ok
Not a 3cly fan at all
+Roger Jennings. I'm not real big on them either, but Massey seems to make it work
i learn fast and i pick up thing qick
+Chris Warren. That's a good thing!
