One thing about Hwasa, she loves to write songs with deep and depressing meanings but in an upbeat music. This song is about her ex boyfriend. She pursued a guy she liked for a year even but that guy didn’t like her bc of her being a celebrity and all. But they went out for a year and he ended up falling in love with her and they got together. She stated that both of them were a fool for love. He’d do anything for her. Even when is was 4am in the morning, he’d come over to her house to pass her food if she said she was hungry. But hwasa somehow felt restricted. In a way that’s like “why are you breathing for me?”. So she kinda felt suffocated. But she ended up realising that she was the one being a twit because she didn’t appreciated his love. Hence, the end of the video when she hugged him and he walked away.
No, at the end, Hwasa says she is the twit, bcs she treats him bad bcs he treats her well, bcs she doesn't know how to accept a man treating her well. So at the end, he leaves, bcs he will no longer wait for her.
saw a comment similar to this but would also like to comment on it. hwasa loves to write sad but upbeat music. when twit came out i couldn't stop talking about its genius. to me, its basically about a toxic relationship where u put ur partner on a pedestal that "u would do everything for them" and u make them ur whole world. one interesting point in the lyrics is when she sings "delicate shim cheong" who's actually a popular figure in south korean folklore, symbolizing devotion and sacrifice. for a bit of context, shim cheong was depicted as a devoted daughter who sacrificed her own eyes, choosing to live life blind, in order for her father to regain his eyesight. hwasa put a twist to this reference and used it to depict blind devotion. i think twit is an absolute gem of a song because how many songs are there complaining about the love you receive? it really touches on the nasties that may come out of an overly romanticized relationship. From lyrics like "You give me a lot but why are you feeling unhappy? Because you only breathe for me" and "You're a twit who only knows me" then it turns into.... "i'm a twit. I'm a bitch who made you sick" "i dont give you anything, but why am i feeling unhappy too? don't breathe only for me" she acknowledged that both parties suffer from these kinds of relationships. as one gives and gives, the other feels suffocated and pressured. i just love her nuanced take on love and relationships
@@nanami436 but she thinks he is a fool because he is being way too needy, putting her on a pedestal, being way too much and stuff like that (a.k.a simp), you can notice that when taking a look at the lyrics
6:18 I think Efra got it right, but u should really see the explanation vd ,its really interesting and they mention things that if ur not Korean or very familiarized with the language u wouldn't understand
The song swept charts in South Korea and got real time all kill (first place on EVERY SINGLE chart) plus 2 victories on music shows, it has entered the Top 100 of U.S. iTunes Top Songs chart to currently become the top-selling Kpop song in America plus got amazing results WORLDWIDE too landing on 22nd place in iTunes chart...I'm not talking about the kpop chart but the overall chart! This MV and lyrics are packed with a lot of interesting references and symbolisms. In the lyrics she uses "delicate Shim Cheongie" ...referring to an old korean tale. Shim Cheong (a filial daughter) was sold as a virginal sacrificial offering to the sea, in this way her blind father could make the temple donation needed to miraculously restore his sight. With the help of the Dragon King of the sea, she returned to the land and eventually became a queen. So Shim Chung is sacrificing yourself for the benefits or happiness of others, it means a great love without boundary. There are'nt that many songs with this concept, telling him/her you should live for yourself don't breath only for me...usually it's the other way round, "give me more attention, give me more love". Mamamoo are famous for writing songs with interesting concept, empowering, respect, love yourself and so on. In the beginning of the mv she's reading 'Animal Farm' by George Orwell which is all about the constraints of society and following the rules…she tosses it aside. Her wrapped up in the plastic bag, coming out of a wardrobe crying, walking and dancing with confidence on a table and no one is paying attention to her while when she has a lighter skin tone and cuter hairstyle boys are at her feet...all is a clear reference to how women are treated in korean society. The girl embracing Hwasa is Wheein, another Mamamoo member and her best friend since middle school. Her cameo is interesting too...if you consider the lyrics of this song and Wheein solo 'Easy' it's like watching the opposite sides of the same coin. Plus Wheein is Hwasa source of strenght and comfort, you can see her leaning on Wheein and Wheein embracing Hwasa. Their makeup is natural and they're almost nacked because they can be themselves with each other. In the all black scene where you can see her and the legs of a man; it's like she abused of his love so much that in the end killed that feeling and when she understood what she did to him she tried to take the boy back but in the end he leaves her. Many people pointed out those blatantly fake birds...I mean, they could use CG like the leopard in Egotistic MV but I think they did it on purpose. A bare tree with fake/dead birds. Everything is white, birds, dress and background, so lonely. In Korea and the Middle East it is the norm that white symbolizes time of mourning and funerals. It is an interesting predicament that theorists find white relays the message of clarity. It could be thought that once someone has passed away there may be clarity in the peoples’ lives, or lack there of. And right after compare the black scene...so going back to the theory of the mourning and understanding (clarity) what she lost. the scene where she's dancing and partying with so many people while he's there, he stays still on that bed. They look at each other so she nows he's lonely and sad there but she's smiling at him while dancing, like a spite to hurt him once again. In the end the flower on the ground represents the beautiful relationship she had, the beautiful love he gave to her. When he decides to leave her, the guy tosses that flower on the ground and she tramples on it like she did with his feelings. Thank you for reacting to this amazing song, Hwasa took part in EVERY SINGLE phase for her solo debut: photos, overall concept and MV, outfits, choreo, lyrics and composing ...QueenSa is MATCHLESS!
Please watch her final Twit performance, a live orchestra version. That version is more attached to the lyrics than the original bop. The lyrics of this is so deep and beautiful.

i def suggest the dkdk explanation video like several others mentioned, but a pretty quick explanation is hwasa's character is upset with the guy she's in a relationship since he's made his life revolve fully around her, she sees him as an idiot for that and makes fun of him through the first part of the song. the second part, where she calls herself a bitch and a twit, is when she realizes she was the one who made him that way. by the end of the video she wants to basically start over with the two on equal footing but by then it's too late, the guy is fed up and moves on (as a note, hwasa said that while the song is kind of based on rl stuff, she was in the guy's position. she's the one to dote on whoever she's with, you can easily see that with the way she interacts with wheein, since those two are such a big part of each other's lives. esp wheein's 2018 birthday vlive... yegads, those heart eyes hwasa sent her way through the whole video) a lot like to say that wheein's "easy" and hwasa's "twit" are two sides of the same coin, since wheein's song is written as a person who spent their life doting over the other person in their relationship, a person who spen the time ignoring them and, at the end of the song/mv she decides to move on also, those two were each girl's first solo release and they guested each other in them, completing a promise they'd made years prior to star each other in their first solo music video. some crazy and rare bff goal, that

To me the song ends up being partially about her character in the song not being able to know what she wants, or deep downish not considering herself actually worthy of the purity of her partner's feelings for her. So her inability to figure out what she wants or accept love in the end costs her her relationship, despite her dramatic self-inflation. Kinda like saying it's part of human nature to have a "twit" inside all of us. Feels like a pretty Catholic point of view, actually, if you ask me

Ok so this entire song is a really clever song depicting different perspectives in an unhealthy relationship. The first part is obviously about her being irritated by her twit boyfriend for being overly obsessed with her that it’s too much, it’s unhealthy. So u see her pushing him away a lot in the beginning. However at the end, tables have turned when he finally stops waiting for her to reciprocate and leaves. She then realises she’s the bigger TWIT for not appreciating him in the first place and now has to suffer losing him. It’s such a deep song of her own self-reflection. Many people after breakups don’t even realise their own faults and shortcomings in the relationship
ruclips.net/video/Pryv3Kxl9qc/видео.html The link to DKDKTV explaining Hwasa's Maria and LMM, it's a really great explanation that you can watch in your own time if you want! Also, check out the TWIT explanation by them as well, it really makes the MV and the lyrics make all the more sense! Love from South Africa ❤️❤️
I don't think you can get all the nuances of the song, lyrics and MV on the first view. Here's the short version of my take on it: she calls him a twit because he puts her on a pedestal and only thinks of her even though she doesn't treat him well and pushes him away, then when he leaves she realizes she was the twit for taking his love & dedication for granted.
Could you please react to RM's first mixtape and watch the music videos for "Do You" & "Joke" and watch the subtitles!!! Thank you! Liked the video by the way, love Hwasa! 😘💜✨
Honestly when I first watched this MV I thought it was about coming out of the closet since there’s literally a scene like that inside here + Wheein’s cameo where they’re hugging. I also thought the song was about calling that boy (Hwasas lover) a twit because he doesn’t realize how much pain he’s causing Hwasa and still loves her while also not knowing how much pain Hwasa causes him by lying about her sexual orientation. Besides all the other imagery like the bird that had its wings spread but was pinned to the tree and unable to leave sort of symbolized the “i know I’m gay but I’m still dating a boy” kinda feel. The twin tail look where many boys stare at her as their ideal type also contributed to this interpretation. But then again, that was my thought. But as I heard the interview and all other stuff about the message of this song, O have come to realize it’s not what O think it is about. Yet… I still wonder sometimes…. 🤔
DKDKTV lost me with this one when he said that part of the meaning of the song was that the song represented Hwasa's desire for "a dominant man" in her relationship. Maybe I should go back and watch the vid again but at the time hearing him say that was enough to cause me to exit out of it.
The song basically means that she doesnt appreciate the boy being all over her. Until the boy realizes something that hes done with Hwasa. So he removed her hands when she came to hug her.
Besides all the deep meaning and stories, basically she calls "dumb" her boyfriend cuz he is so devote to her and she doesnt give him equaly "" love. Is not just be mean, its pretty normal (it happened to me), when couples are not in the same phase and one gives more love than the other and sucks be the less interested one (you feel guilty).

The song basically means that she doesnt appreciate the boy being all over her. Until the boy realizes something that hes done with Hwasa. So he removed her hands when she came to hug her.

I love their videos, but I can't understand why they haven't reacted to Hyolyn say my name and 9 lives. Those 2 videos are amazing.
Please react to the explanation for this song from DKDKTV :)
