    I've seen tons of videos about homesteaders that raise worms right under their rabbit cages. Scoop them out into a wheelbarrow and pick out as many worms as they can in a short time. Put the worms back under the rabbit cages and empty the wheelbarrow on the garden. Rabbit manure and castings in the garden. (Maybe a few worms also). It doesn't get better than that!!!

    And I add powered rabbit manure to powered biochar and feed it all to my red wrigglers...makes a healthy meal for them and an activated biochar for the garden

    I've been out of town, so I'm just not slowly catching up on everyone's videos. It's so hard to miss a week on RUclips. So many things happen.

    Hello have a quick question I'm raising little red and little toots and European Reds in another they're about three gallons per bed of peat moss I put some Dolomite lime in them about a half of coffee cup do you think that I may have put too much dolomite lime in them I've noticed they're getting kind of sluggish

    • @TheGardenAndWormLady
      @TheGardenAndWormLady  2 года назад +1

      Yes I would say it’s too much, for that much I usually add about 2 tablespoons.
      You can get the worms out change the bedding and start from scratch

    When I was a child we use to hunt rabbits for supper. But we only did it in the winter. The reason is wild rabbits have worms in the summer. Not sure if the temp actually plays a part or a change in their diet. Maybe professional breeders could answer that. But it might ease your mind knowing one way or the other.

      People around here eat rabbits and they also hunt squirrels for supper. They say it’s delicious 😋

    Always great information. Do you add worms to your garden? Do you harvest the castings for potting soil or to amend the garden? I am raising them mainly for making my own seed starting and transplant soil mix, but I do plan to split my bin when the population gets high and add the extra worms to the garden.

      I do put some worms in my garden when I have an over abundance . I harvest the castings for my personal use and I sell some. I’m looking to open an eBay store to get rid of them that way

      You can always buy your rabbit poop from this guy, at least I know it arrives dry, if you’re going to do it indoors dry is better😊

      They come from Alaska and were raised outside in the weather. The breeder said it’s like a red Wiggler that can tolerate the weather being cold

    I feed rabbit manure to my worms all the time. Sometimes I put in a handful or so at a time and sometimes I just put the manure and bedding from the bunnies into a mortar tray and add worms to that . They eat it up and they will be fine.
