Great tutorial, I like the timer and app and the weather forecast is working now. With a couple of additions, this app could be perfect: as you mentioned, one button that would start all the zones in sequence is needed, instead of having to go zone by zone. Also a countdown on how much time is left on a running zone would be helpful. I get the occasional communication error which seems to coincide with me going between wifi range and switching to cellular network, but restarting the app fixes it.
I think it would be great to have this. I am updating everything from heads and like that jet stream heads watering it looks better covering the grass then the fan spray that makes a water run off . Here in San Diego California USA the water rates have risen by hundreds of dollars per 2 months . We have old values 6 each broken or linking water bad I'm in the process of getting it done , but you know in plumbing you go to fix 1 thing and 10 more things you find out need fixing or replacing. I have more time then money but my back only can do so much in a day . But I'm learning here better ideas as I go. It's my dads and moms home but my father passed away in my arms in 2013 . I miss him . My mom is bed ridden but I'm honored for them God bless them . I don't care what anybody says family members they don't care about making things nice . All they give a dam is the money money. Money helps but it's not the world. Thanks for the information and listening if any one does... Blessings to you all
Setting the time through the buttons at the timer is not necessary. When the timer is first connected to a mobile device it updates the time automatically.
Does it matter if you wire the zone wires in the same order as the old timer? Ideally I want to change the order of how my system runs - I want to flip the order of zones 4 and 5. Thanks. Your videos are awesome.
You can change the station wires at the timer to any order you want. So you could move the station 5 wire to the station 4 terminal, and 4 to 5. Remember they will water in sequence on that program.
hi Kerry I have to install a espme with WiFi can you turn zones on and off from the phone my it would be nice to do that I am doing a new install and I have a zone by the pool it would be nice to turn that zone off so people can go in the pool at night and not worry about getting sprinkler water on them and have the rest of the yard water
Hi John, Looks like you can upgrade existing ESP-Me timers by simply installing a new WiFi compatible front panel and LNK WiFi Module, without having to replace the entire unit. Here's a link: www.rainbird.com/homeowner/products/timers/ESP-Me.htm
I'm a big Rain Bird fan. I would recommend TM2, ST8, or the ESP-Me timers, & 100DVF for a sprinkler valve. 5004 & 3504 rotors for bigger turf areas, and 1804 heads with RVAN nozzles for normal size turf areas.
Kerry i am doing a espme with WiFi do you have to put start time in 4 every zone or can you have 1 start time and can you name a zone and put a picture on the espme like you can the 1 you demoed
On the ST8 each zone needs a start time. You can enter the same start time for each zone and the app will stack them to water in sequence. I think the ESP-Me uses the same app as the ST8 so you should be able to add photos to the zones on the app.
My modem has changed and now the connection doesn’t work so how would I set it up. Because if I do new controller it says I have one previously set up. But when I go to the one set up, it stays on connecting and then communication error
Maybe you have an older version of the app because I just installed the system and was able to start any zone from inside my home and watch them start watering.
That pen animation at the beginning was a big help propelling the narrative forward. Thank you for adding that.
Thanks Jamie, I appreciate the feedback on how the video was made.
I enjoyed watching your video thanks for your time 😎👍

iScaper1 what rotor heads, valves, and timer do you recommend? Brand.

Awesome video as always, your tutorials are some of the best on RUclips. Are you also a contractor for your profession?
Thanks, I appreciate the feedback. I was a landscape contractor for 25 years.
Can you use on a home pc or just a phone
App for the phone.

Delete the current timer, then click the Add Controller tab. It should take you through the setup again for your current modem.
are the photo hard to put in
john Kosheluk no you just click the button
Just the mere fact you can’t tell the system to start from phone makes it a no-go
You can manually start any station you want right off the app.

Mine never worked on my rainbird ESP-ME, which is why I will be switching to hunter. Hunter always has had better quality than rainbird.
