I know right ,white copper frets. The pics said stainless steel frets I have the 1st tempest, the frets are long and short very wavy. So they more or less put a new neck on and changed the pups to another no name pick up. At least do a bone or graphite nut, stainless steel frets, and roasted maple. It's do able at 229.00-239.99. I found out these new tempest are made at a factory that makes ESP guitars.. so they fixed the issues but updated nothing and are asking for 30-40 more per guitar.
The next batch will be replaced with stainless steel frets, just a small misunderstanding. There is no intention to deceive. Guitars with the same configuration, guitars made by high-quality factories (such as those produced by big brands) and guitars made by other inferior factories cannot have the same price. So don’t just look at the configuration, but also the assembly process and paint process. In addition, this Tempest uses burl wood boards instead of thin, paper-like burl Skin.
I got my Leo Jaymz about 6 weeks ago, you know what I don't even know the official name. It's a light green sparkle Telecaster type guitar, clear pick guard. It's like a modern looking Telecaster. Gloss roasted maple neck with no sharpe fret ends and level fret. It came the same yours was, Leo Jaymz outside box and same gigbag, verry damn decent bag. I got mine for $189, a month before I bought it it was $159 . The same guitar in different colors were $169, free shipping. I forgot Alnico V pups that sounds great.
Love these honest reviews and demos. What if Leo Jaymz dressed up a Tempest, but didn't really improve it all that much? You'd have this guitar. I like the purple look, too, but when the price goes up that much, the hardware has to follow. Still, got to give them props for the looks- but it's about how many quality features can you pack in to make us not buy a Jackson or Ibanez. Can't wait to see your new studio!
I have the first tempest, they fixed the issues with neck. And put new pickups , I would of liked a better nut and roasted maple neck. Even on this model vs the new tempest. It's a cool finish but not worth the 100.00 bucks imo.
You nailed it right on the head. They most certainly dressed up the tempest. In my opinion, the pickups are better too. But, for that $100+ increase, the specs didn’t change all that much. Especially when my firefly baritone tele has a roasted maple neck, locking tuners and stainless steel frets for $170.
Thank you, my friend. I agree! Just a few more specs would’ve really pushed it to the next level, and make the price a little more digestible for a budget friendly guitar!
Well, as of right now, the picture description has been changed to the real material on the Death Speaker, but the photos still say stainless steel on the photos of the Violet Ocean.
That really burns my biscuits. They should have that done correctly in the beginning. The picture advertisement I took the info off of was listed under the death speaker. That’s just not right. I really appreciate the heads up that they finally fixed it. I added a pinned comment to let people know.
Sorry for the delayed response! Things have been quite busy around here. The pickups have definitely improved with the deluxe, and I do think it brings the harmonics out more. But, there’s still room for improvement. I’d even consider a pickup change to your preferred brand. There’s a noticeable difference when I play a guitar with EMGs, even a similar budget brand like Harley Benton
The frets were wonderfully smooth but I’m annoyed about their misrepresentation of stainless steel frets, they are cupronickel. I don’t believe they are EZ connect but I’ll double check when I get back home
That’s really interesting. I’m not sure to be honest, but I didn’t think being a prime member came with that extra benefit. I thought it was basically the difference between free shipping or not.
they make blue and violet at 239 ,i bought both of them 349 and 239 they played the same but the blue was awsome better looking ,but they play idenical
Leo Jaymz has UPDATED their information. The Frets ARE NOT stainless steel. Their advertisement graphic was incorrect. There’s no excuse for that. 👎🏻

That's bullshit man. False advertising.

It’s insane just how good budget guitars are getting. I was looking at the Leo Jaymz teles too. I might pick up the firefly instead
Great review man
🫡 Thanks brotha

I think it's a beautiful guitar for sure, I really wish they would have added locking tuners though. Excellent review as alway brother!

OK,The next batch of guitars will improve these configurations.

@@thetattedbaldguy I think that I'm going to make a short or post with screenshots when I get the time today
@@thetattedbaldguy ok. I made the post
great video, bud. You think it brings out the harmonics more than passive pickups ?

I'm looking at the violet ocean,i have the 1st tempest. Do you know if the pickups use the ez connect and how were the frets?? Ty bro

is the double boxing because you're a prime member? all the guitars ive recieved from amazon are in one box and always beat to hell courtesy of UPS

What neck profile would you say this has? Similar to a Jackson speed neck?
I’d say closer to an Ibanez RG than a Jackson speed neck. It’s fast, but not quite Jackson fast.

I saw that, was thinking of picking one up myself. Glad to hear they’re awesome. Makes ya wonder what cost the extra $100
@TheYarnman do you have a picture of the blue and violet one? I don’t see that anywhere
That’s a pretty cool guitar! And don’t worry we all know what that head looks like 😂
Haha you guys have certainly seen enough of it! 😂
